I hate to give a two star review but this place definitely deserves it. I was excited when I first read all the positives about this place, however ended up being very disappointed. I ordered a cappuccino and was dismayed to find that they offer single or doubles but only as 12oz drinks, twice the size of your standard cappuccino. Not only that but a cappuccino is $4.25, a dollar more than most places charge and 50 cents more than a latte which should technically have more milk. Worse than that, the milk for the cappuccino was way to aerated and dry, not a nice microfoam like it should be and also much to hot. The shot was over-extracted with a burned and bitter taste. While I went in with high hopes I cant recommend this as a great coffee shop.

Chris engaged in conversation with us vistors as soon as we walked in the door. We hoped the coffee held up to expectations after we had such great customer service from the crew and we were not let down! A range of flavors and creative drinks (the maple syrup is a must!) left us very pleased. We enjoyed this coffee joint so much so that we came back same day towards the end of the day. Chris asked us, "Werent you in here earlier?" It was great to be remembered! He talked to us about coffees, brews, and how to properly brew iced espresso. He even let me try it! Yes, were the ones from "Pennsyl-tucky" who would come back to your shop as soon as we go back to Bar Harbor! Thank you for excellent service and fantastic coffee!

These guys love their coffee. While the owner poured my cup, he described his annual trip to South America to pick the beans to roast. I might not have the palate to distinguish such a level of care, but I appreciate the dedication. In some small tourist spots, you can find a shop owner who just puts up with tourist. Not here. He made us feel welcome even as we stared out the window at the view of the harbor.

The best coffee I have ever had!!! Chris and Jen, owners are helpful, cheerful and just great! We traveled to Bar Harbor from DC and needed the coffee. We were in town for 5 days and I got coffee there every day, even though it wasnt near where we stayed. I even went out of my way to get coffee there, on our way out of town. The espresso shot was average my wifes latte was to her liking. The atmosphere is very nice and quiet on the off season. There isnt much seating if you want a place to sit for a bit. There is also no wifi access. I can understand why some places do this but I wish places would indicate this to manage expectations.

Walking down near the Harbor I was hoping to find a place for a good cup of coffee... not a full service restaurant. Id never noticed the Coffee Hound before so I gave it a try. The coffee was great and they have other drinks and lite eats as well.

Our favorite place to get coffee and people watch in BH. Amazing service, their coffee was flavorful, and their hot chocolate is creamy and perfect! Already looking forward to next years camping trip so that we can visit again! Dog friendly, too!

Quality beans. Prepared fresh. GREAT service. Small shop and I love that. This is wonderfully removed from the Starbucks scene. Had the frozen "Rocky road". Wife had tea. Both great! Also pets are welcome! Free dog treats!

Packed with tourists (like us) on a rainy summer day. They still managed to have a friendly manner minutes before closing and the entire family enjoyed their drinks. A little more room and it would be 5+ stars.

Over $5 for two small coffees and I would not complain but the coffee was just ok. Went to choco latte down the street better coffee and it was cheaper for bigger cup. It is well worth the walk a few blocks.
