I love the coast of southern Oregon. There are a few stops that are worth hours of your time, including this wonderful restaurant. Featured in magazines, and praised throughout every review site Ive seen, they are a strong contender in their field. Bottom line: best fish and chips ever. Loved them. I mean REALLY loved them. I had a regular order my first visit. Had to go for the large order last time. Whoa. Oh ya. That was awesome. Oh wow. Im so excited about my next trip to Oregon. In fact, I think Ill open up my schedule this weekend. I want some fish and chips from The Crazy Norwegians! Oh ya, and the coffee is excellent! Its from a local roaster, not some big-time distribution company. Who mentioned the coffee was bad? Man, you must of been there at the wrong time... Good service, great prices, AWESOME food. So you wait 20 minutes after your order. Seriously, though... are you really in a hurry? Theres nothing with HOURS of Port Orford that requires your immediate attention. Relax. Have some fish and chips. Ill see you there.

3 stars because of extreme pros and cons. Pros: I had the fish and chips very good and it deserved 5 stars. Cons: They have 2 tables outside. We were in company of dogs and it seemed to be a good choice. However I was informed that they dont serve the table outside and had to order it to go. It was a windy day and we spent our meal fighting to keep all the paper containers and condiments on the table. The only LOL pro to that was when I left the tip on the table and it blew away too. Also I have read the reviews saying that chowder was good. It was not our experience. It seemed watered down. And what clams we did find were very chewy. Next time we are in town I will leave the dogs at the cabin and have the Fish and chips indoors.

in fact, we come over from UK at least once a year to visit with friends in PO, and ALWAYS stop off there. The welcome is great, the food is even better, and I have to say, as a conoisseur of such stuff, that the fish and chips at The Crazy Norwegian is the best I have had anywhere - period - just beating the Britannia in Trenton Ontario and the Goose & Gridiron in Merrickville, also Ontario. My wife had a potato and bacon concoction that really clung to the ribs - something that was very welcome in view of the 60 mph winds around the corner of the headland. The pie - any pie - is also to die for. Try it. Recommend it? You bet. Twelve out of ten. tac foley

We waited fifty minutes for our food. I spent the last twenty of those minutes without anything to drink, though Id had a beer and a water. The waitress didnt check on us one time between delivering our drinks and delivering our food. When our food arrived, I had a piece of fried fish and a fried prawn on my plate, while the rest was all (nasty) fries. We waited ten minutes for the check after finishing our food, and we finally decided to go to the counter for the bill. Our alleged waitress was at the register. She explained that the place had gotten very busy and blah blah blah. However, that is no excuse. I will NEVER be back.

We went to the place as a new food source while driving home and I wanted to meet the owner as well. What I found was a busy place with people in and out and that is always a good sign. We ordered fish Tacos and some chowder and both were wonderful. Normally the fish is a little greasy from the deep fry but this one was so good I had to stop eating it out of the taco so I would have some left to eat on the taco. My wife did not care for the hard taco because it was a little greasy but Im not sure how you are supposed to eat one of those not greasy.....lol

We had the chowder, fish&chips, and chicken strips. ALL were well done. Especially the fried fish. The batter was just thick enough to offer some crisp, while letting the excellent tasting fish dominate each bite. NOT thick-thick greasy batter that would run down your hands, like some of the fish restaurants Ive been to in other places. The fried fish at the Crazy Norwegian was Perfect! :) Finally, a quote from my 9 year old son (who doesnt like seafood) about the clam chowder; "mommy, this bowl is full of nothing but yummy goodness". :O

We are from Arizona moving to Oregon and on the way up thru Oregon we stopped here. It was Great, being from England the fish was great, not really chips but french fries. The fish was great and the potions large, There are 3 different sizes of the fish, I had the 2 piece which was great my hubby had the 4 piece and he was stuffed. I had the Mocha Chocolate Pie and it was to die for. Going to go back some day for another round. The waitress was just great, and the locals eating there we very friendly, stop by if you near it.

I am basically in love with Port Orford. That sentiment was sealed after a simple, great meal at The Crazy Norwegians. Grilled oysters, fish & chips, homemade tartar sauce and cole slaw, and marionberry pie a la mode w/ coffee form a local roaster down in Agness. Had to walk up to Orford Head State park just to start burning it all off. Dont be fooled by the rough exterior either; this place is warm, bright, clean and cozy inside, and the service was friendly. Looking forward to my next visit.

Wanted lunch while heading down coast. Hit Port Oxford, OR and nearly exited town when I saw out of the corner of my vision Crazy Norwegian F&C. Very good...but while waiting for our takeout order started eying their posted specials & saw homemade pies. Couldnt resist. Got a peach, a lemon & coconut slice peach was good but needed Ice cream. The other two almost made me turn around and pu while pies and sample other ones. If you go there dont pass up on a slice of pie. They are very good.

Its been 15 years since a friend and I drove down the cost from Seattle. Being from Norway and seeing this place certainly made picking a place to eat easy! The food was great, the staff fantastic, bearing in mind this was in 2002. We left some Norwegian money for them to put on display, and got a healthy discount on the coffee! Dont know how many times I thought of this place, and would love to go back!

Asked for a high chair, was told by the rude hostess/server that they only had one and it was in use. Family who was using it was kind enough to bring it over. Food was underwhelming. Wife waited for a bill at the counter while the hostess/server ignored her. Wife was told, "All you guys seem the same after awhile." Place is a dump, employees have no respect for customers, avoid if possible.

We had researched this crazy place and found many many good recommendations and it was crazy good. I am not a fish eater so had the chicken strips and they were awesome as were their fries. My husband really enjoyed the fish and chips. A very small place but one of those quaint little places you find along the Oregon coast. Staff is very friendly and it is extremely busy but they do well!
