Excellent food and outstanding customer service! I was driving north on my way Downeast when suddenly I was consumed by an insatiable craving for laab tofu, a spicy salad with Lao origins that comprises of tofu, chicken, or pork, etc., lime juice, hot chilies, fish sauce, kao kua, red onion, fresh cilantro, and fresh basil, served over lettuce with slices of cucumber. Since it was almost ten p.m. on a wintery Tuesday, I realized that most restaurant kitchens had probably closed an hour ago, and sure enough, the first two or three places I called did not even pick up the phone. One restaurant answered but said they did not have laab on the menu. The next phone number was for Thai 2 Go. With a sense of impending resignation, I pressed the call button. My luck was about to change: a cheerful voice picked up the phone and replied that while technically their kitchen was closed, they could probably still make me something. However, laab was not on the menu. I explained how badly I was longing for it though, and soon heard the voice agreeing to make me a special order. Twenty minutes later I drove into Bangor to pick up my to-go box with a perfect laab tofu inside, along with the indispensable sticky rice. Not many restaurants will make you special orders that arent even on the menu, even fewer will do so after closing time on a Tuesday nightie, and far even fewer than that will then turn out a dish as delicious as a top Thai restaurant in Boston. Needless to say, Im impressed! And if my experience is any indication of their regular menu and of the way they treat their customers on a daily basis, then Thai 2 Go is a wonderful, delicious place to eat, where I intend to return as often as possible.

After eyeballing the Thai 2 Go restaurant downtown for over a year now, I decided to try it today since it has been so wet and dreary. The owner was hospitable and kind, offering me a hot cup of very VERY hot green tea. I enjoyed the Thai meets America hole in the wall decor; very rustic. I especially enjoyed the clock that had been turned backwards, maybe it has some sort of meaning? Fifteen minutes and $15.00 dollars later I walked out with my food. The rice was long grain and no different then the stuff you would find in the store however, it tasted fine. The curry was overwhelmed with the astringent flavor of Thai basil and the beef was very chewy. The carrots were so overcooked that they were mushy and I heard the microwave run a few times while I was there. The soup was sweet and had coagulated coconut milk floating in it along with cherry tomatoes. Thats all I have to say about the food but at least I tried it. The hospitality was nice but I should have asked for something else. If I decide to try it again, I may just try the drunken noodles since those have gotten good reviews.

I dont know why some reviews are such negative-nancies about this place, all that does is hurt local businesses. Im from Portland, so Im used to having a bunch of places to eat at all the time, and thats what led me to eat at Thai 2 Go; I wanted to try something new and family-run. The environment inside is absolutely adorable! You can tell that the whole family is in the kitchen working together, and everything I had was cooked FRESH. My dish was the "Drunken Noodles," which was really good, and my girlfriend got some variety of Pad Thai, and hers was very satisfying, but not quite Drunken Noodles caliber. That being said, I would definitely eat there again, just choose well! Also, it may be notable to say that when we were there waiting for our food in the 10 x 10 sitting area, some people came in behind us and said they were eating there because they heard how good it was... Stay hungry Bangor, stay hungry.

I ordered the seaweed shrimp and lemongrass chicken. The aroma that rose from the box when opened made it impossible to focus on anything other than the dish. Cooked to order, with vibrant and crunchy veggies and perfect rice the only concern I need to communicate is the degree of spice. While you can choose on a scale of 0-5 I opted for two in respect to my colleague who would be eating with me and one dish was, in my understanding, a three whole the other a five. They both were delicious and Ill certainly order again but much more conservative about their spice.

I would not EVEN consider this food edibile, let alone authentic THAI food. I ordered Pad Thai and what I got looked / tasted like pad thai that was made a year ago and kept in an oven. Just wrong.. If you do order from this place, god help you. Also they serve random creepy sounding american food. A real thai restaurant is within walking distance, Thai Siam. I am not one to pick on local businesses, as i work for one, but this place gives thai food a bad reputation and its just not fair to not let people know.

This is hands down the best Thai restaurant in the Bangor area. Their food is delicious, their customer service is extraordinary, and if there is anything you cant have or would like to have another way, they are more then willing to accommodate requests. Ive been going to this restaurant for years and dont plan on stopping anytime soon. My favorite things on the menu are the Pad Thai lunch special, Drunken Noodles and the Mango Curry (but I ask for pineapple with it). Thanks guys, keep it up!

This was my first time getting Thai to go and it was the worst experience I have ever had! I was told my food would be delivered in 45 minutes. I payed with a credit card over the phone. 2 hours go by.. Still no food. I called many times and no answer. Finally someone picked up and they said they would credit my account and that they were way too busy to talk to me. Still no credit on my account, very angry.

This place is very good for what it is. The only negative in my opinion is the price. Slightly high, but not enough to keep me away. For those seeking an authentic Thai experience, this is not it. Though, in Bangor Maine you cannot possibly expect authentic anything. If you just want some good Asian cuisine, this is it. Better quality and less greasy than the other Asian options in the area by far.

In fact, it was pretty good! No, maybe not authentic or traditional, but definitely GOOD. I did not get Pad Thai though. Ive only had really good Pad Thai at a few places, so I didnt want to risk dissatisfaction, but their version of drunken noodles was pretty good for a little carry out place.

I have been driving past this little place for years. I had no idea what I had been missing. Stopped in for a quick meal tonight, WOW! Very fresh, incredibly tasty food and a reasonable price. Make Thai 2 Go your next stop for some great food today.

Great little place. Had pretty tasty food, and the owners were nice enough to give us free sodas with our meal. It is a small area where you wait for your food, so more often than not youll end up chatting with some avid fans while you wait!

Extraordinary food! It is a small to-go place in a convenient location. Dont let the size of the place fool you; the food here is some of the best Thai in Maine. My personal favorite dish here is the drunken noodle, but you cant go wrong!
