Its hard to find REAL Maine Italian sandwiches anymore. They used to be everywhere. Now the chain sub shops have decimated peoples ideas of how our sandwiches should be. Legacy truly provides an opportunity for those of us who remember the great Italian sandwiches to get one that tastes great now. If you want something else, they have those too, but try the Italian for the Maine sandwich of 50 years ago. Tradition has been revived.

Chosing the best sandwich in Bangor use to be considered an easy call (Coffee Pot) but the field has widened considerably following the original Coffee Pot closing. For sandwiches on a sub roll Legacy Sandwich Shop appears to be the new winner.

Never have I eaten a lobster sandwich before and even with this sandwich has spoiled me for any other. I have eaten 2 since then and nothing has compared to it. My family had all had great sandwiches filled with meat. Great food for the money.

I have tried several of the sandwiches at Legacy and have been happy with each choice. This is one of the best sandwich shops around. The service is wonderful and helpful. I recommend this shop highly.

Best sandwich in Bangor, maybe whole state. I travel extensively in Maine and it is difficult to get fast service and good food at the same time. The Legacy does both. Excellent sandwich shop.
