The baristas here dont bother to listen. I go regularly to use the internet and study. Ive ordered a not-too-sweet caramel latte to stay on three occasions, and every time it comes back very sweet. The first time I asked them to re-make it, and it came back with foam-less cold milk. This last time it was in a to-go cup. These kids just dont know how to give the customers what they have ordered. For $5 a cup it should taste good, and it does not. Im about to give up and go to Starbucks. I hate to sell out to corporate America, but by golly, the local Starbucks gives me what I order at the right temperature and sweetness level, and the service is much, much friendlier.

Starting off, I found parking to be difficult to procure and had to drive around the block looking for a spot. However, the exterior of the building appeared historic so I excitedly anticipated a more artsy venue. The interior is more "thrift shop" decor. The potential to do more with decor is there but, with the strong college crowd who would notice or even care? I purchased a "hot" Chai Latte but received a lukewarm one from a marginally interested barrista. On the plus side, it is very quiet and I understand open mic on Monday is fabulous!

needed a place when i visited lexington to chill for about 3 hours on a weekday afternoon. common grounds was just the ticket. decorated in that certain post modern grunge that says "oh please, were a coffee house" with housekeeping to match. but a good cup a joe, nice and very laid back atmosphere. i wished id been hungry so i could have tried the grub. so stop in, wire up to the fast wi-fi, pump some quality bean juice into your veins and relax, jive or eat your way to a more satisfying day at common grounds.

This is just a coffee house, a really good one, but nothing trendy and fabulous. Thats what I like about it. There are separate rooms, quiet tables, and good coffee. Perfect for students or conversation with friends. No, they dont have professional performing Baristass , but they have friendly servers. If you want something fancy, go somewhere else. But if you like coffee and quiet times with friends, its a great place for that. Plus!... occasional amateur music.

I am a weekly visitor, and I was surprised to see that someone wrote on here they didnt listen to his or her coffee order. Every time I go in I ask them to go light on the sweet stuff and use skim milk, and every time they oblige. The baristas are always friendly and pleasant. My only criticism is that the food orders can sometimes be very slow. Id love to eat here more, but I am usually on my way to work and need to get there in a hurry.

I love grabbing coffee here - and its a friendly, cozy place. I love meeting friends/clients here. I would use their meeting rooms if the furniture wasnt so gross. The espresso drinks are a bit weak, so I order an extra shot. Everyone is always friendly. Parking can be a bit tricky. PS: If UK is in session and you come after 11, it will be crowded with students using the WIFI.

My favorite coffee shop in Lexington - awesome place. Pretty grungy, but theyve started to freshen up the main room (for better or worse). Local art available for purchase is hanging on the walls of most rooms. Coffee is great, and the staff are superb. They offer soy and almond milk for those who are non-dairy. There is also a food menu, but I have never ordered from it.

If you are looking for some caffeinated drinks, lighter food options, and a place to stay a while, Common Grounds is a great place to spend an hour or two. Coffee may be their speciality, but their menu also has café-style food options. Dimly-lit corners and art-filled walls provide the perfect ambiance for an espresso-fueled homework session.

Common Grounds serves the best coffee in town. Simple as that. The crew is knowledgeable when it comes to service, sense of urgency, and coffee. I never wait more than 5-10 minutes for my drink. The people working there are quick, polite, and all around amazing. I have found my new favorite spot for coffee!

It was okay. I was expecting it to be great and really cool. The barista had no personality, it was my first time and I asked her to tell me about their coffee and what she would recommend didnt really get an answer. The music was good. Coffee was ok, not the best but not the worst ive had.

They have free wifi, games in case you need distraction, coffee that is ground locally and fresh, and an atmosphere of a casual hangout where no one is in any hurry to usher you out the door. Whether meeting friends or business associates, this is the place to commune with a cuppa.

Great atmosphere, nice coffee. (House coffee a bit bitter for my liking, but others may love it.) The prices are reasonable as well. Should be on your list for a break from the mega corporate culture of a certain famous coffee chain... A nice place to send an hour or so...

Common Grounds is an excellent place to get some work done; whether you are a student, employee, or entrepreneur. Get a fresh cup of coffee, some good tunes, and fast internet connection and you are set for some prime time productivity for a morning or afternoon.

I was picking up coffee for work in the morning, and the staff went out of their way to make sure I had enough and even lent me a container to take. Very friendly, they did not have to do that, it was much appreciated and tey deserve a shout out!

I,myself, am not the biggest coffee drinker. But when I do want a cup o’ joe I hit up this comfy cafe’s High Street location. Their food menu offers a nice variety with options like thai peanut noodle salad, plus paninis and wraps.

Actual coffee is served here, not just hot water + espresso ("Americano"), multiple blends and strengths are always available too. Good food and plenty of beverage selection. Just be very careful where you park.

Love this little artsy coffee shop near University of Kentucky. Open mike night once a week, chess boards, local art work, great service. Parking could be a challenge but generally not bad.

Common Grounds is on the decline. They took out the great upstairs hang out place. They removed the broken piano. They painted several tacky "murals" on the walls. Its a sad state of affairs

Cozy, great coffee and tasty snacks. Perfect for studying. Only down side is sometimes theres not many seats. Wish there were more comfy couches too!
