***** BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE BY KIDS***** Dined at the restaurant several times with no problem. The visit to the location last night resulted in a very bad experience. It was Friday and the end of a long stressful day and week for my wife and I so we decided to dine at Cookout. 15 minutes after placing order no food was received. Checked with kids behind the counter regarding status of the order. Without actually walking back to the kitchen, the reply to the inquiry was "your order is in progress and will be out soon". While waiting for our order several employees (kids) were observed standing around talking, obviously not about work due to the laughter. Four times I checked on the status of our order. Four times the same reply was received, none of which included an effort on the part of the kid to actually walk back to the kitchen and check with anyone to obtain a verified status. After 30 minutes of watching 10 orders fulfilled for other customers, my wife and I decided to request a refund and go elsewhere. When the request for a refund was made the same kids had an appearance of unbelief on her face that someone would be upset. This time she actually went to the kitchen and returned with news that the ticket for our order was lost and the kitchen staff was rushing to take care of it. Be that time we simply wanted to go elsewhere. To receive a refund took three request and an additional 10 minutes while the kids were taking care of other customers that were placing orders and actually receiving a meal. Obviously the kids were unable to attend franchise training class on the day that Customer Service was the subject. Maybe the kids are WKU students that think they will have a high paying job after graduation. They should be aware that Customer Service is an important subject regardless of the avocation or profession. Thankfully there are ample choices throughout the area with employees that provide good customer service. Dont think we will visit this location again.

Every time we order from the drive up window, it is very difficult to get the person to understnsd what you want. They question me, I question them about my order. Just like tonight. I wanted an original Chicken sandwich with extra tomato. She repeated back to me a regular plain chicken sandwich. No, I want an original chicken sandwich with extra tomato. I continue with the rest of my order. I drove up to the window and ask her to repeat my order. She had it right. As always.... I get home and something is wrong. Its usually the extra tomato missing. Thats what it was tonight again, and again. Am I supposed to open the sandwiches in the car and check. The other mistake that always happens (lactose intolerant) is I ask for NO cheese. Get home and it has cheese. Jeez, can the cooks in the back not read the order or are they too programmed to throw it out and get to the next cash at the window. Do you care? Do you care that orders are not read and the customer gets home and cant eat it because it has cheese on it or that something extra requested is missing.

I have visited twice the Bowling Green "Cook Out". I think if the people you have hired working for you had more customer service skills it would be helpful. It actually ruined my lunch how the young lady spoke to me when ordering. My order is simple- Cheeseburger with ketchup and mustard with cheese only and a peanut butter shake. But, for some reason, I had to explain in several times. Then there is long silence. There is just a lot of other nice places to eat and spend my money than to go to the Cook Out and get the immature customer experience ever. Leaders- teach your crew how to talk to customers!!!

Food was good....7 out of 10. Service was atrocious! We were asked what we wanted several times every time we answered hed turn to talk to someone and then ask us to repeat our order. Not sure why.....he still got it wrong! The shift(?) manager apologized for the inconvenience and blamed it on new trainee. I get not knowing all the keys and buttons but, a crappy customer attitude is no excuse. Then we open the food and it was wrong. A front counter newbie is no excuse for the back not following the ticket order. This would make a great location to open a competent burger joint.

Update. The people taking the orders arent paying attention to the customers. Expect problems with your order. Cook Out is a small chain based in NC. The burgers are like the burgers you would cook on a grill. They are delicious. You can get them anyway you want, or get one off their menu. My favorite is the cook out style. It comes with chilli, coleslaw, and onion. The onion rings are simply the best. There is a huge selection of thick creamy shakes. You can mix the different flavors of shakes for a truly unique milk shake.

I dont know how you can totally screw up a hamburger and hot dog but this place did it. Burgers were burnt, lacked taste and were greasy. How does a hot dog get greasy? Had a double cheese burger and it smelled awful. My 15 year old grandson, who literally eats every 4 hours, did not finish his burger because it was terrible. Highly recommend not eating there; you will have a better burger at Mickey Ds, Burger King, Sonic, etc...

Food prices are amazingly reasonable, food is good and service is fast! The only thing I hate is that the menu is a bit confuzing, you need some time before you can make up your mind and when theres a line, well you feel bad for the people behind you, I also hate how they dont have nutritional labels on their food which is typical but they could. CookOut is a good place when your hungry but strapped for cash.

I ordered in the drive thru and got a totally different meal. When I called to ask if I could get what I actually paid for, no picked up, and there was no way I could get back in line or anything without being late to get back from my lunch break at work. Not angry about being handed the wrong meal (mistakes happen), but a little ticked that no one answers their phone. Pretty dismal service if you ask me.

Although the staff were friendly and the prices were low, the wait time was very long for just a burger and onion rings. My burger didnt have much flavor and way too much onion on my burger. The onion rings tasted like something you would buy from the frozen foods section at the supermarket. My shake was way too sweet and as if it was not at all blended.
