I am in love with this place! Never had a bad meal here -- even on days where it isnt their best, its still so much better than any other Indian food Ive ever had. Had Chicken tikka masala in Chicago, Atlanta, and Branson, along with trying the other Indian restaurants in town... None even come CLOSE to theirs! Buffet is a great opportunity to try a variety of their dishes; the flavor is better when ordered from the menu, but you cant beat the price of the buffet, and youll still leave with a belly full of great food! Ive brought dozens of friends, family, locals, and out-of-towners, alike, and even the pickiest of guests could find something they loved. If you ever have a bad experience there, just talk to the staff. Its a completely family-owned restaurant, and they have always been exceptionally kind and accomodating to myself and any guests I bring. I just cant praise this place enough!!

I just ate the lunch buffet at Passage to India. Overall the food was not very good, but there were exceptions: - ground beef potato curry - what is this doing in an Indian restaurant - chicken tikka masala - recognizable, but lacks the richness that usually make this a US favorite - vegetable korma - not recognizable at all, missing the fragrant, sweet spices that exemplify the dish - aloo baingan (potato eggplant) - very well prepared, very rich and a variety of spices were easily recognized - tandoori chicken - not well marinated, but still tasted like decent chicken I did not try the yogurt or dessert dishes. Atmosphere lacked slightly, but the buffet price of $10 was very reasonable. The service met expectations.

This restaurant was an 11 on a 10 scale for me. I love Indian but not every Indian restaurant of course. We ordered the lentil soup, lamb coconut curry, shrimp mango, and Rarra lamb and 3 different naans (there were 17 naans!) Mango chutney, mint chutney.... I almost lost my mind it was so fabulous. The food is bursting with flavor. We ordered medium heat and it was spicy without tearing your face off. I like American spicy, but Indian spicy is very intense. Note that the food gets hotter as you eat it. The heat collects and lingers. The mint chutney will cool you down. They offer a mild version so if you dont eat spicy you can still eat here. Absolutely outstanding. Cannot wait to return.

Passage to India was full of surprises. A delightful buffet with spices and flavors that were fun, and unfamiliar. The owner takes great pride in his cozy, out of the way place, and was thrilled to share his menu with us by "touring" us through the buffet and explaining the dishes and sauces. Having an enjoyable meal is one thing, but being treated like youre having a new adventure makes it fun! The food is nothing short of amazing, and the service incredible. Food quality is far above average and much of it is gluten free!!! If youve been going out for Chinese buffet, youre in a rut! Take a chance...go for it and try something new! I could wake up craving this!

As someone who had a year in her life dedicated to finding the best indian buffet in Houston/Dallas, I think this is the closest place to the best in Wichita, KS. The buffet was pretty inexpensive (~$12 after tax) and they had a wide variety of foods that most people here probably havent even heard of before! The tikka masala was great, the korma was great, they had goat! The owner is this super friendly guy whos been in business in Wichita for the past 26 years (had another indian restaurant a decade ago, I think) but now works with his mother to make home-cooked indian food. I highly recommend this place for anyone curious about Indian food.

been there several times. always good service and tasty food. had the gobi Manchu rian special tonight which is a classic indo chineese dish of cauliflower with spices in a sweet red ginger sauce. very tasty. I didnt ask about the price since their vegetable dishes are 11 or 12 bucks. when I got the bill it was 17 dollars for the cauliflower!!! thats ridiculous. I asked the server if that was correct and he said he would check with the manager. when he came back he said that was the correct price. I realize that I should have asked the price before ordering. I payed my bill and tipped over 20 percent. unfortunately I will not be returning.

We have been frequenting this restaurant for a while now. But I did not truly appreciate it until I traveled to India last year. I was told by many people (Americans) who had traveled there that the Indian cuisine over there is very different from the restaurants here in the US as most of the recipes had been altered to suit western appetites. I was shocked to find that after sampling many different restaurants from Northern to Southern India that Passage to India has some of the authentic dishes around! Couldnt find any difference between their dishes and what you would find at the finest restaurants in India.

Indian food is one of my favorites and A Passage to India does it authentically and delectably. We chose the small restaurant in an ailing strip mall as our intimate setting for our Valentines Day meal. This restaurant is clearly efforting food, not restaurant decor. This is the only item keeping me from assigning a fifth star. Upscale it is not, but a great experience it is. I adore the "Bollywood" music videos. If you are feeling adventurous, have the goat madras soup. The lamb is fantastic as well.

Im so sad that it took 34 years to have my first experience with Indian cuisine! If Id only known what I was missing out on, I would have tried it much sooner! The menu could be intimidating for a first timer, so heres a helpful hint: coconut curry with chicken, basmati rice (which comes on the side) and an order of butter or garlic naan is the perfect dish to dip your toes in the water with. The wait staff was very attentive and the owner greeted us like old friends. Will definitely be back!

I gave this eatery 5 stars for a reason. The top ingredient quality married to some really excellent Chef skills make this one of the best Indian places I have eaten. Highly recommended for anyone not familiar with but curious about Indian food, you will be completely satisfied with your experience. i have eaten these kinds of foods all my life have visited India and am British for reference.

This is, by far, the most delicious food I have ever eaten in my entire life. If you havent eaten Indian food before I would recommend going during the buffet hours so that you can try a selection of the food. Dont skimp on the naan, try ordering some from the menu. It is all simply amazing. The staff have been there for years. They recognize me when I come in and are always super pleasant.

I took my wife here a few weeks ago. I ordered the waiters recomendation of a chicken curry and was very pleased with it. I dont remember what my wife ate, but she loved it. We will definately go there again. I would give 5 starts except for the building. The restaraunt building was kind of run down, and didnt provide the best atmosphere. The bathroom looked kind of beat up too.
