I had been staying in town for a full business week near the airport when I had read in a local happenings magazine, about great places to eat in Wichita. The magazine is called Splurge. In the article, in alphabetical order, for B - Breakfast was a place called Doo Dah. Well, even though I could have eaten at the hotel like I had been all week, I figured I would like to venture out and get something different and better. Even something as simple as Eggs over easy. Skip that! Anyway, I made it to the diner near 0730. The charm alone gets it to 3 stars. Charm, well........ the owners are active in their passion for the store and it shows. In the beautiful pictures on the wall, like the diner itself is their baby and a family member. They really do put the care into the overall being of the place. Okay, now about the food.. Welll........ just fantastic and an incredible delight to the stomach and pallet. I wish I could have had my wife with me. She loves French toast. And how they do their banana bread french toast is amazing. A full order I am sure could be shared. I had the sample meal. I personally do not do hash. If anything, I do like Home fries but ........ So I substituted Biscuits and Gravy for the hash concoction. Banana French Toast (10), Biscuits and Gravy (10), and an Eggs Benedict with an avocado and tasty Hollandaise sauce. At the end, I used my tea spoon to make sure I finished and cleaned my plate. I held back on licking it. The spoon did a good job of finishing it off. I will be back to Take out a Cuban Sandwich for my flight home today. If anything, I would get there before this place explodes and Guy Fieri shows up with his camera crew and puts this place on a national billboard.

Food. I ordered the breakfast pot pie deal they had this weekend it came with a side of B&G I requested it with Jalapeno Bacon it was Very delicious I would def. order this again as it is a new breakfast favorite of mine my only complaint on this dish was the price granted everything was hand made I thought $14.99 was not a fair price for a breakfast dish, but it would not stop me from ordering it again. My wife on the other hand ordered Chicken Fried Steak Price was $10.99 the steak was just ok flavor wise respectively the cut was thick and tuff to chew and small portions compared to other CFS in town IE Jimmys Egg ( which is also hand made, delicious and huge.) Service . Hands down their service is the best I have seen ever. super friendly staff very nice atmosphere clean facility Bottom line Pros . Great scratched cooked comfort foods some unique dishes that are only found there. Stellar customer service Cons . more than the average price on breakfast items even for home cooked meals. Would I come back ? Yes (but not all the time due to price ) Would I recommend ? Yes ( you guys have a Great thing going on here a little tweaking and I think you will be top of your game )

I will start out by saying the food is really really good. Yes its a little pricier than a lot of other breakfast places but with the added price comes added quality although things like not including hash browns with a chicken fried steak just seem ridiculous. I understand the price of the CFS but think that for that price hash browns could easily be included. The service was good and I understand the casual atmosphere but allowing an employee to wear nike running shorts to work seems a little too casual. The major complaint I have is that we were sat at a table that was pushed up against another table where there was another party sitting. This made me very uncomfortable. If you do not wish to increase the number of tables at least utilize some of the waiting room space to ensure that guests do not have to share a table. Overall the food and atmosphere is unique but it is almost too causal for my liking.

The employees are so friendly. The food is awesome and servings are huge. Everything is home made from scratch. They participate in the community with fund raisers, recently being a $20 all you can eat fried & grilled chicken buffet to benefit a local woman in the 11 countries in 11 months Christian Mission program. They are only open from 8A.M-2P.M and had the fund raiser from 5-8P.M. Reservations only. They also used that opportunity as a test to see if there would interest in evening hours. They are always busy! They now offer call ahead seating. If youre on your lunch break, it is advisable to use this. Parking is minimum so be prepared to either street park and walking a few blocks (possibly) or circling the lot a few times until a spot opens up. Their food & service is so good, lack of parking makes up for it.

My bf and I are breakfast people and have tried every breakfast joint in town... Hands down the best food! If its your first time... Call ahead seating!!!! Because this place is as good as it is and everyone knows it! Lol also get the triple ds if its your first time! The corned beef and hash is soooo good but their take on the Benedict is great and omg the banana bread French toast.... Fahget about it! I absolutely love everything on their menu! And the staff! Well their happy because the cooks keep us happy so your coffee is full and did I mention you get monkey bread with your coffee as you wait! Psh! This place is on another level! In town a little early for something I needed to do. Looked around the Internet and Trip Advisor for the best breakfast. Settled on the Doo-Dah Dinner. The place was pretty full but I got in quickly. The waitress said it was because they werent to busy because of the weather. Would hate to see it if it was really busy. Sat down at the counter and could see the food being prepared. Lots of amazing looking food went by. The Steak and Eggs Benedict looked wonderful. I chose a Pulled Pork stuffed Waffle with eggs and Sausage Gravy. As I waited for the Food to be prepared the waitress brought out a dish of Monkey bread. Delicious. Enjoyed the food and watching the workings of a bustling dinner. Will definitely be back for steak and eggs soon.

This spot my friends, is the highlight of our visit to Wichita, KS. Its like walking through a time machine and going back to the 50s, the design of the diner, that is. The staff is extra friendly and the diner is family owned. The food...like I stated earlier this is the highlight of our visit every time we go for the last three years! They hold nothing back on flavor or serving size! My sister and I order something different each time in order to get the full experience. Great place to start your day. It is a Breakfast and Lunch Diner only. (mind you, we have been going to Wichita all of our lives; we have family there)
