Arrived to an empty house. Clean. Asked for the orange chicken "meal." She tried to immediately ring me up. I asked if it came with anything. She said "rice." I asked for the fried rice then. Then I asked about egg rolls. She said "no". I asked if I could have Rangoon. She said "yes". I asked for a half order. She gave me the total price again. I asked if it at least came with a drink. She said "no". Never offered me one either! It came to $11.61 total, for some chicken, 3 little pieces of broccoli, 3 rangoon, and some "fried" rice. I grabbed my water from the car... The food did arrive in about 2 minutes though. The chicken had no vegetables (or anything else) and was salty. The 3 pieces of broccoli were cooked ok, but salty. The rice had nothing in it all all, and was salty. The Rangoon had almost nothing inside, except a smidge of cream cheese; no onion or even crab, and they too were... salty. My water was decent though! With all the salt, it would have all preserved well, but I didnt take the leftovers home, as I knew I would have to throw it all away later. I felt cheated of my money, and left felt wanting of more. They only gave me a single napkin and a fork too; no sticks or even a spoon. Get a burger or go to Panda down the road. Theres a reason this place is always empty.

Of the "fast food" Chinese places in DSM and WDSM, which most are "fast food", this place is amazing. It can be considered in the same vein as Tsing Tsao or Dragon House or any other number of Chinese food place in town, but this place is always very high quality. I think the main reason their food tastes better is because everything is made to order (except the daily buffet). You go in and order and will have to wait 5-10 minutes for food because they make everything fresh. My favorite is the Orange Chicken, with a very sweet and savory orange flavor and a little slice of an orange for good measure. Check it out!

Incredible authentic food, made fresh! Buffet is awesome, and to-go food is fantastic. Mom and pop type Chinese restaurant. Fresh vegetables, etc. Homemade crab ragoon is so good. Chicken in seseme chicken is crisp not soggy. Small place very cozy. Buffet for lunch and dinner, plus to-go food. You can ask for 3 crab ragoons instead of the normal one ragoon, one egg roll, and soup - no problem, same price. Restaurant closes between lunch and supper (2-4:30 I believe). Lunch prices are only $6-7. No peas or carrots in fried rice!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! We were in des moines on a saturday afternoon with our kids. We went to canton because of the great reviews and we could walk from our hotel.....once we arrived we noticed that they are closed on sat and sun....BUT.....The owner was inside and saw us. She opened up the restaurant just for us and made us a fresh VIP dinner. Needless to say we were very impressed! I can honestly say this food was AWESOME!!! Next time we make the trip from chicago to des moines we will 100% visit the Canton ;)

This is absolutely my first choice of chinese cusine in the Des Moines area. They are always on point with greatness and not once have I had a poor experience here. They are affordable compared to any other place out there and always quick to have your order ready within 15 min, even when there busy! I used to live nearby but moved to Ankeny fairly recently yet still willl make the drive for this delicious food.Ill be coming there soon again!

I have not found a better Chinese food place in the area. This place was the most difficult part about moving away. Its no longer 5 minutes away. But whenever we are in the area we try and eat here. I will say this though, it has ruined Chinese food for me because nothing else seems to compare... All you can eat buffet is always fresh and perfect. I have never had something I didnt like from here. The crab Rangoon is wonderful.

We loved this place! We were upset at first that they wouldnt deliver but when I arrived I could see why. It was only the woman and a man working. The food totally made up for that! It was delicious and plentiful! The definately do not hold back on the lo mein :) great place and food was fresh and hot

I ordered the Lo Mein and egg rolls. Neither were very good. The egg rolls were easily the worst Ive ever eaten, small with hardly any stuffing at all and a bad outside texture. The lo mein was mushy and hardly had any beef in it. I prefer House of Hunan across the street...cheaper better food.

I found Canton to be quite a pleasant little place. The food was delicious, and the portions generous. The only minus I found was that our tea came in styrofoam cup; Im a cup snob. Other than that, I would give it high praise.

Excellent food, we ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Schezwan Chicken for take out. The food quality was good and so was the quantity. It was hot and spicy. Will surely recommend it to friends and will be there more frequently.

The BEST golden buttery crab rangoons Ive ever had in my LIFE! We moved further away and we STILL make the long trip out just to get some Canton! Also the sweet and sour chicken is very good and a favorite of ours.

Higher quality ingredients than some of the other chinese places in town - including the place across the street. Service is usually pretty good, delivery guy is real nice. Recommend the hot and sour soup!

The food is always "right-outta-the-frying-pan" hot and its always delivered faster than they say it will be. The eggrolls arent my favorite, but the sesame chicken is fantastic!

Tried to place an order for delivery and was told they would not deliver because we lived to far east in West Des Moines (approx 7 miles from their restaurant). Ridiculous.
