As a general rule, I dont give restaurants 5 stars. But if this had a half button, it would definitely get 4.5. The food was amazing (though I wasnt sure how I felt about the meats being out in the open, but they were frozen, which eased my fears somewhat), and the guys working behind the bar were great and seemed to be having a good time cooking. All of the servers were courteous, polite and knowledgeable, as well as just generally keeping on top of things. When my boyfriend and I decided to eat here, we had never been before, and our waitress was polite, even offering drink suggestions (we both HIGHLY recommend the Mango Limeade: its not on the menu, but is single-handedly one of the best drinks either of us have ever had) and came consistently to take plates and refill water, as well as to make sure we were doing alright. The atmosphere was a mix between trendy and home-like, a feel that we both loved. It was intimate, yet it was cozy and inviting. There were mixes of dress throughout and I feel that any kind of dress would work well with this place. They offered a nice selection on their menu, and at a reasonable price- approximately 35 for two people for dinner, with unlimited on the amount of times we went up to the bar. The desert was delicious, but sadly there wasnt a huge selection to choose from. However, we were already so stuffed in the first place that we felt it wasnt a big loss. All in all, we were both highly impressed with the quality and the mood of the restaurant: we will be eating there again. Although, word to the wise: if you choose to go (especially on a Friday night), be aware that parking is severely limited and hard to get.

Dont go here!! Me and my boyfriend came here and there was only 2 other people eating here. They had free crab rangoons and wings appetizer. The rangoons were fine but the wings were dry since they had been left out. We made our bowls which I noticed everything came out in bags because the cook literally came out and refilled some things straight from a bag. The eggs you can get cooked with your food were just left out in a bowl of water and there was a cracked egg sitting there with the eggs! After I handed my bowl to the cook he took of his gloves and then put his hand in his mouth and took something (I think a retainer) out of his mouth!!! EW. And he didnt put any new gloves on! I should have said something right there and then like maybe to wash his hands and out gloves on but I left it alone. Ugh. My food ended up being very dry and had black specks all over from the grill. Needless to say I wont go back there. Just gross.

They gave my card to someone else and offered no compensation! I went here during my break for lunch with some coworkers. We ate and everything went fine until I paid. I gave my card to the server and he left for a bit and came back with the slip for me to sign. Immediately I noticed that he had given me the wrong card back. He went to look for the person with my card and they were already gone. I did not cancel my card right away with the hope that the person would notice they had my card, but they didnt and made purchases the next morning. I had to cancel my card and didnt have access to my money for a week. When I later called the owner said that if I didnt have my receipt, she could offer me nothing. I still had to pay for my meal because they had already swipped it. No complimentary meal...nothing! That is no way to run a business! Stay away!

Moderately priced create your own stir fry. Basically, if you dont like the food, its your own fault because you select all the ingredients. They have recipe suggestions with the spices you can follow, or you can wing it. The vegetarian option is slightly cheaper. A vegan friend complained that although they use different utensils to prepare veggie plates, they dont clean the grill and have the food too close to meat plates. If you specifically requested more care with that, Im guessing they would accommodate. Or you can be a quiet raging vegan. The draft beer selection is limited and seemed watery. Service was polite and standard. Tip: start with a small portion to test your ability to make something tasty, and then go back and use what you learned.

While the food was good, the "con" game is a total rip-off. The price listed is $8.50 for a lunch "bowl" all inclusive. Guess what was not included: meat, seafood or tea. The $8.50 bowl ended up costing $18.50. We could have eaten at many other nice restaurants for this. I dont mind the price as much as I mind the sneaky way they do the upcharges. When we complained, we were told there was a small sign above the shrimp that advised the shrimp would be $3 extra, on top of any upcharge for meat. When we went to look, turns out the signs were missing. Others were having the same complaints and the managers just smiled and shrugged. Guess this really is the old way Genghis Khan tricked people for money.

If you havent been here, you need to go. The best Mongolian BBQ in the city. That place in Overland Park doesnt have anything on Genghis Khan. Service is always great. Lunch is half the price as dinner so if you can get out there while lunch is still running you can save some money. If you get the "grill" its all you can eat along with unlimited crab rangoon, spring rolls and chicken wings. They have a vegetarian option and cook it separately. Lots of good mixed drink options. Parking sucks. Dont waste your time trying to parking in the lot behind the place. Just find the first spot you can on a surrounding street and walk the block. Save yourself the headache.

this is not the best Mongolian grill in town!!!.. they have variety i will give them that.. but the place is no cleaner then the street its located on.. management is rude, unpleasant and degrading.. They keep raw uncovered food beneath the buffet line LOOK FOR YOUR SELF!! the floor, chairs, tables and booths are DIRTY.. the bathroom is extremely DIRTY.. the appetizer and buffet table/sneeze guard is DIRTY.. ive seen cockroaches and mouse feces on the window sill.. ive been dissatisfied each time ive been there.. make a better choice and dine where you wont risk your health!

Ive loved to come to Genghis Khan since shortly after they opened here some twenty years ago. My then-girlfriend actually had a stint as a server for a while, and I remember the employee Christmas party 1997 was a blast. Now my kids love the place. Best crab rangoon in town. Secret tip: if you go for the bbq buffet, you can make yourself a salad first from the bar. A little of the pad thai sauce, a little onion oil and vinegar, sprinkle some tequila lime spice on top (very important), and you have yourself an awesome dressing...

I used to love going here after work and picking up something to-go, which happened to be about 30-45 minutes before their closing time. I never planned to go there I just decided to while driving past. Never had any problem or issue with sitting at the little bar and waiting for my order because it only took about 10 minutes. Then one night the owner lady asked in a some-what condescending way, as if I were a child, "maybe next time you could call your order in first?" haha, yeah, whatever. I havnt been back since.
