My fiance and I decided to try out Overtime last night. We read some not great reviews of the place when it was apparently run by different owners. We had friends that went there recently and really enjoyed it. And were beer lovers, so we figured what better place! We got there at about 5pm and it was BUSY (I consider that a positive!)! It was open seating, so we went right in and sat down and were greeted promptly (by a waiter and a waitress who it seemed were confused about whose table it was or were fighting to get the table) and our drink orders were taken. My fiance ordered a Blonde Fatale in a bottle, and Id expect a beer house to provide a glass, but not a huge deal. The beer selection was decent overall, however Id like to see more Iowa beers (I think I counted less than 6 between bottled and draft). Our food orders were taken when our drinks were brought and the food was delivered pretty quickly considering how busy they were! I got the lamb sliders which were about $10 but dont come w/ fries, so I got a separate order of fries. The lamb sliders were good but not great; they use the usual gyro meat. My fiance got a burger (I think it was called the Rise & Shine burger) w/ a fried egg and bacon on it and it came out piping hot, it definitely hadnt been sitting under a heat lamp waiting for service! She ordered it medium well and it was cooked perfectly for her taste. I tried a bite and it was a really great burger! It was served on a great brioche bun w/ thick cut bacon and you could really taste the egg; the bun held up really well and didnt become soggy at all! I should also add that the menu wasnt huge and overwhelming like you get at some places; Im of the belief that your menu should be pared down and offer a smaller amount of things done well rather than a huge amount of things done so-so, and this was the perfect size menu with a good variety! Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing. One of the owners, Nick, came over and chatted us up to see how we liked everything and to see how wed heard about the place. He seemed like a really genuinely nice guy and seemed to really want feedback, not just to walk around and tell people he was the owner like you get at some places. It was loud like youd expect at a sportsbar and there were a lot of TVs on the walls. But it was definitely not too loud to carry on a conversation, and for a couple who could really care less about sports, the TVs werent distracting to us. Well definitely be back! From what I read from reviews during the previous ownership, the place has really overcome the problems of the past owners!

What a disappointment! Overtime is now under new management (Ron and Cindy). The backroom has been converted into "Cindys Cafe", and the front part is still a sports bar. They are now operating two businesses under the same roof, which is not working. Multiple menus are on the table, but only certain menus are available at certain times. At 1:30 PM the menus switch from Cindys Cafe to Overtime Sports bar. The servers also switch at the same time, and unfortunately have no communication during the transition. The food quality has gone down, and the service is honestly embarrassing. Our waitress took our order (and forgot to enter it), the manager came and took the same order (and also forgot to enter it). On the third time, our waitress got the order entered and apologized for the inconvenience. After our table asked the third waitress for the bill (not sure what happened to the other two) she wasnt able to figure out who ordered what items, so we all had to go on the honor system. Needless to say the bills were completely screwed up. Another issue is that the waitresses are not cross-trained. The Cafe waitresses have no clue on the sports-bar menu items and drink service. The sports bar waitresses have no clue on the cafe menu. The attitudes are terrible, and the business is struggling. The combination of untrained grumpy servers, and horrible management is driving this place into the ground. It is a real shame because this place used to be our favorite local neighborhood sports bar for watching football and eating with friends. I hate to see this place go under, but do yourself a favor and find a new establishment.

As others reviews state, average maybe below average food. Only the homers would give this place a good review. Well see how bad it is once I give it a chance to digest, if you know what I mean. Good selection of beer and it was cold. Now lets review the service. POOR. Very un-engaging server....a smile once in a while wouldnt hurt, it might even get you a nice tip. I ordered a import draft Stella Artois @ $4.50 and she failed to mention that import bottles are $ 3.00. Thanks for trying to run up my bill. She tried to cover it up by acting stupid and saying "oh what day is it". It was 7:00pm, I wasnt her first customer. Its a weekly special, give a break. All the other good restraurants near by will have to be closed or out of business before I come back here.

To start our $6.50 bloody Marys we ordered had no flavor to them and were missing half of what the menu said they came with when the bartender brought over the bacon the drinks were missing, he ripped one piece of bacon apart to 3 pieces with his bare hands to put straight into our drinks! The place wasnt busy which should have been our first clue but even though there werent that many customers in the restaraunt the staff and kitchen help still couldnt keep up. We only had 1 amazing waiter and we assume that he was the manager the rest of the waiters just seemed to wander around. I really hope the restaurant can get something figured out and turn this place around before they go under!

I very rarely give negative reviews but feel obligated this time. When we arrived (party of two) there were nine people in total already seated, three of them at the bar. Our server took around ten minutes to ask us for our drink order and then had not delivered them in another ten. When we were finally able to order our meal (cheeseburger sliders with fries), it arrived around twenty minutes later...a long wait for such a simple order and very few other customers. The bartender was nice, the food OK, the table service was the worst Ive experienced in years. Not impressed and I wouldnt recommend it, especially if you are hungry!

We ordered several appetizers, a hard cider, root beer, and Sprite. Cider was watered down, so was root beer. The wings were just gross with a slight hint of flavor. We asked to send them back after have 1 of each flavor, and ordered something else because we were still hungry. They have a policy of your order, you pay regardless of how you dont like the food. In other words, the food was gross, the drinks were bad, and so was the service. I would give it 0 stars if I could. Definitely wont be back. The waiter was very nice and attentive and was uncomfortable with the fact that we didnt like the food but were made to pay for it.
