My husband and I started ordering pizza from Amore about a year ago. At first, their pizza and service was great. There arent too many New York-style pizza places in Indianapolis, so we were excited to find Amore. However, Amores service has slowly gotten worse and worse. They refuse to hire the staff necessary to carry them through their busy times. For instance, they hardly ever take orders over the phone on weekend nights. More recently their cooking has gotten sloppy and downright unexplainable. The last three times I ordered from Amore, I received a hardly-cooked pizza (the cheese wasnt even completely melted), a pizza with barely any toppings, and a pizza with vastly uneven half-and-half toppings and two large slices and two small slices (on a large pizza!). So, I have had it and I will never eat there again. A year ago the pizza was worth it; but now, dont waste your money!

I have been to Amore about 7 or 8 times in the past year and have found there is no consistency to the quality. I have had some very good pizza and some very lousy ones. On my last visit the pizza dough was too thick, undercooked, hardly any sauce and too much cheese. The mushrooms tasted like some cheap canned variety and they overloaded the pizza with too many whole olives instead of sliced. As for the pasta dinners, they are ok but are sometimes over salted. Take it from a native New Yorker - if you want the most authentic wood fired Neapolitan pizza in Indy, skip Amore and head to a new place called Pizzology Pizzeria & Pub on 131st & Hazel Dell Pkwy in Carmel (formerly Goodfellas Pizza). You will not be disappointed.

I have always enjoyed the food here but the service, not so much. For this being called a "family restaurant " I was very disappointed. The first thing my wife and I noticed was a girl with long black hair leaning over the food with her breasts out and shirt halfway up her stomach. Once we ordered and went to sit down, there was a short blonde girl who was wearing similar clothing to the other girl, boobs and butt hanging out. I would HIGHLY advise not taking your family here. There was also a very strong marijuana smell coming from the bathroom. This place is just a mess, my guess would be because Chris isnt there anymore.

I am actually addicted to Amore I come here 5-6 times a week and get two slices of cheese pizza, two breadsticks with cheese sauce , and a drink. Amore has now become a staple of my diet and Im thinking about just buying an IV tube so I can have a constant stream of Amore flowing into my body. I had a girlfriend at one point but she broke up with me because I spent our entire life savings on Amore. Funny thing, Im actually writing this thing in Amore right now. Thats how dedicated I am to eating their food. Overall great place to eat and always clean.

We have eaten here many times and always liked it. This time was different. The girl taking our order messed our pizza up to the point where we didnt even know it was ours when it came to the table :( Garlic knots came to the table warm on the outside but not inside (twice). We checked our bill to realize we were charged for cheese sauce we didnt ask for. It never came to the table so my wife asked for it. One good point was the young man who was carrying orders to the table was well mannered and seemed like a nice kid. Food was ok but not great.

I came here on a Sunday with a large group. The service was relatively fast, but it was a little bit of a wait for the person that ordered a calzone. Everyone enjoyed their food, especially the garlic knots. The pizza slices are large, and they have some great lunch specials. Their Greek pizza was delicious, but I wasnt as impressed with the Mediterranean pizza. The restaurant was clean and had a friendly atmosphere. The service was decent, and overall it was a pleasant experience. I would come back again, as well as recommend it to a friend.

This place is hit and miss. Tonight was a miss. The salad was as good as ever, but the whole cheese pie we ordered was so lousy that we left half of it on the table when normally wed bring it home to reheat for lunch the next day. It would really help, in my opinion, if either Chris or Danny were there at all times to provide owner-level supervision. I seriously doubt well ever try Amore again, even though it is really close to home; Bella, in Clay Terrace, while much farther away, produces consistently better pizzas.

We used to really like this place - but we have visited twice in the past couple months and both times were unable to get service. The first time we walked in and, after standing around for 3-4 minutes, were greeted by a woman who said there was no food because no workers had arrived. We attempted to return just a couple weeks ago and the doors were locked... in spite of it being normal business hours. Such a disappointment. Wondering if they are going out of business.

We decided to have dinner tonight at Amore at the last minute. I love supporting local restaurants but we left a little disappointed. We had a large pepperoni pizza that was just average at best. The dough on the bottom was very crispy and my guess is they cooked the pizza a little too long. The flavor of the pizza was also underwhelming - not terrible but not special. I doubt we will return.

I worked about 10 minutes from Amores and would frequent there for lunch for three years now. It was always worth the drive to get a couple of hot slices of pizza and garlic knots. Ive recently been transferred and working in Fishers, so I dont have the opportunity to swing in, but If Im going through Zionsville, you can bet that Ill stop in for a visit.

All three of our entrees were bland and unimpressive. Even my 3 year old thought the pizza was boring. No herbs detectable in the sauce, and slimy canned mushrooms on my pizza ... gross! I wanted to like this place because it seems like a Zionsville institution, but we wont be going back.

Was once the best pizza in the area. Not sure what has happened. It is no longer as clean and the pizza seems to lost its quality taste. Im so sad because this place has great potential. The staff is always friendly just wish they got their food back to what it was when it first opened.

Always busy, and with good reason. I love everything Ive tried, and they have a large selection! Garlic knots are the best, and Im particularly fond of the sausage and peppers. I never leave here hungry or disappointed.

Great food, nice staff and veteran friendly. Went for lunch with my wife and son. Just happened to be wearing my Iraq vet shirt. Owner bought my family lunch. Greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.

Great local pizza. Love the way the display and cook their pizza, makes the decision process easier for everyone. Food is always good. One of our favorite pizza places in Indianapolis.
