Have been here several times before and have never had an issue. However, today was an exception. There is always a wait, which is fine because its a small restaurant. We get on the list and the hostess tells us the wait is 25 to 30 min. We wait in the bar area, where all tables are open but they are not seating guests here. Its bad business to have people on a wait when you have open tables. If all members of the party are over 21, seat them! After 40 minutes, we were finally called to be seated. Once seated, we wait another 10 minutes before our server arrives. In the meantime, were subjected to the cloud of cigarette smoke wafting over from the three top table across from us. I sit in disbelief that smoking is actually allowed here. I ask to move. The server advises we can move to the bar area but she cant guarantee there wont be smoking there either. IF you allow smoking in your restaurant, you should have a smoking section and non-smoking section. The food was good, as it usually is. Ive always enjoyed coming here but this experience definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure if Ill return. I really hate smoking in restaurants, its gross.

Visited this establishment today for the second time as our first experience last season was wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxing and the hostess was especially warm and friendly. Our waitress, Maggie, was a delight and attentive to our every need. The biggest issue we had, which will keep us from returning, was that there were dogs, all breeds, all sizes, everywhere; and I do mean EVERYWHERE. While we are not adverse to animals, I think that it is a bit much to ask your patrons to dine with dogs. A restaurant is not an environment to be shared with animals...how inconsiderate of those of us who suffer with allergies. It was difficult to concentrate on the conversation that I was having because a barking contest broke out midway through our meal. Not to mention we observed at least two servers rubbing and petting the various dogs before going into the kitchen and returning shortly after with plates of customers orders. Whether they washed their hands is a complete mystery. Overall, it felt unsafe, unsanitary, and unfair to patrons who prefer to enjoy a meal sans flying fur.

More than pleasantly surprised by this place. From the outside it seemed a like a shack down a dead end road. A closer look revealed an inviting, clean outdoor grille that you would see beach side in a more tropical location. We were there later on a weeknight and got the last table outside. The staff was great. A very friendly, attentive waitress that had a great attitude. The food was good the fish "tacos" were very good although I would classify it as a wrap. My mother had a vegan wrap and it was great. The sweet potato fries were house made and the cinnamon dip for them was good. We had a bruchetta appetizer that was great as well. My 5 year old enjoyed her meal and had an even better time feeding the fish and ducks, with provided cups of feed.

The food was decent but I didnt feel satisfied after eating here. I loved their strawberry margarita: its the saving grace of this restaurant. The wait was long but thats to be expected on a Saturday afternoon. I did enjoy the atmosphere a lot and the outdoor seating was nice. Their menu is very "cute" and "creative" as well with the names and choices of items. However the tables are situated so close together youre almost on top of the other diners and can hear their entire conversations. I had a major racism problem with a waitress and the manager here: they refused to resolve the problem. I would not recommend coming here as a POC or if youre feeling very hungry after a day at the beach.

I stumbled upon some signs in Michigan City while on my way to Milwaukee, WI. I nearly turned around before I finally found this little joint, its a few miles from 94. When I found it, I was amazed to say the least. Its right next to a turntable train tressel/draw bridge. I was able to watch both a train and sailboat cruise by. It was amazing. This year, my family is heading to Chicago for Independence Day and we are planning on stopping by on the way home. My youngest son is obsessed with trains and I know hes going to love this place.

Stopped in for lunch today. Had the calamari for an appetizer, and the cranberry salad for an entree. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Even sharing her solar eclipse glasses with us. Great food, great value. For less than $25 lunch was enjoyed. They offer a nice sand area to play bags if youre into that. Parking for boats. Very clean, lots of fun and definitely a hidden treasure. It reminded me of Freeport Bahamas. Very " islandy" if thats a word. I will be back!

The service was great. We ate outside and were allowed to bring our dog, they even brought a water bowl for her. Husband and I both got the pub fish, mine with sweet potato fries and his with the potato salad. Price was high and the quality was not worth the price. It tasted like the fish were fried in old oil, potato salad was good and so were the fries. The tarter sauce for the fish tasted off, and fyi they will charge you for extra mayo.

Great experience! Our waitress was great. She helped us move tables when a waterside table opened up 5 minutes after we arrived. She also provided good suggestions on what to order. The food was also really good...a variety to choose from and what we ordered tasted great (fish tacos, Portobello wrap, and tomato bread). The restaurant overlooks the waterway and is next to a rail swingspan bridge, fun atmosphere.

This place is right on the canal, and offers a nice view of the boats passing by, as well as having slips for boaters who want to eat. There are quite a lot of tables, but the staff did a good job of keeping up with them, even though they were full. The food is fairly standard sports bar/fish camp stuff, with lots of sandwiches and fried offerings. They also serve alcoholic beverages.

We try to hit this place up at least a few times every summer. Every time is more disappointing, the prices get higher and the amount of fish on the meals goes down. Had their signature item which is the fish tacos and there was barely any fish, and mostly slaw. The beer prices are high. The staff was fine, but seemed overstretched and the only good thing about the place is the view.

Kinda Romantic here, dim lighting. Every time I come here its pretty pack, casual wear is fine. For appetizer I got half west coast and east coaster oyster, pretty fresh. I recommend west coast oysters, they are tasty but smaller. Sea urchin plate and house-cured salmon, very salty. The clams linguine is delicious! Tried the scallop risotto, not a fan.

The food was okay. I got a salad and some hummus with pita. The pita was a bit raw. But i loved that the boat was parked 20 feet away and my dogs were welcome. The scenery is beautiful. Plus if you have kids they have an area where they can play in the sand.
