Lets cut to the chase: skip this one. Ill try to be fair and as positive as I can first: 1) its possible I just went on the wrong night, but in reading reviews on OpenTable, I think my experience was more common than it should be and 2) my food, once I got it, was not at all bad. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was far from enjoyable. To set the stage, when I arrived, the restaurant was barely 1/4 full, meaning that there were about 8 other tables, most of them single tops. It took about 10 minutes for my server to come by and fill my glass with water, another 15 minutes for him to come back and take my order, and another 15 minutes before I got bread. For some context on just how random the service was, the couple that walked in right after me (but had a different server) didnt have someone talk to them until after I ordered, but got their food before I did. Go figure. After finishing my plate, which again was perfectly reasonable for hotel food, I waited another 20 minutes before someone came to take it away. All in all, without ordering drinks, appetizers, or dessert, I was in the restaurant for an hour and a half. Speaking of drinks, appetizers, and desserts, I was offered none of these, though each of them were things I would have purchased, if Id been asked. By the time the server took my plate and, unprompted, said he would bring me the check, I decided it would probably be faster to go to the bridge bar on the 3rd floor and order dessert from there. In fairness to the servers, they were short staffed by the time I left - there were only two, plus the manager who I saw, and they were running around trying to serve people as fast as they could. When I left they probably each had 10 tables to take care of, some of them large. Nevertheless, trying to run a restaurant with a barebones crew when two conferences are starting that day and you are the official conference hotel is a management gaffe par excellence. And as I said before, OpenTable reviews suggest that service problems may be more frequent here than just an isolated incident. At the end of the day, the ambiance was stale, the menu was uninspired, and the execution was acceptable, but not particularly noteworthy. I enjoy a five course meal, served over an hour an a half, in the company of friends. This was an hour and a half of browsing the internet on my phone punctuated by under two minutes of interaction with a server, and a well cooked, though not particularly memorable ribeye. Im here for the next three days, but even given its convenience, Commerce Street Grille is not a place Ill be visiting again. Oh, and that cheesecake? I got it from the bar, and have enjoyed it while typing this review.

Very good food and reasonably priced. Im not a fan of hotel restaurants, but this one is an exception to the rule. I stayed at this hotel for a conference and found that I preferred eating downstairs in the restaurant to going out. Not a large menu, but the food was excellent. It was not cheap, but given the location in a nice hotel--and in downtown Nashville (most downtown restaurants here are more on the expensive side)--the prices were not bad. And they offered a discount for Marriott Elite members. I definitely enjoyed all of my meals here.

Amazing breakfast buffet! Omelet Chef! Great eggs and food! Staff cares about me and my meal. I ate dinner the same night there and had one of the best steaks Ive ever had!! Ask for James or Jean. If Matt and Chef Nick are there you are in for a treat!

This is a glorified diner in a hotel with overpriced food. Nice selection but the menu is pretty limited. Service staff was friendly, that was the only pleasant part.
