I had a poor experience with Convivio previously, but was willing to give them a second chance as I do with most restaurants. To start, they put me at the bar without asking if I minded sitting there. The bar was filled with way too many people that constantly bumped, poked, and leaned against me, even after many comments from me asking them to please step back so I could enjoy my meal. I got the Caprese salad to start. It had good quality tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella, but the seasoning and balsamic were lacking. It was average overall, and definitely not worth $10. For my entree, I had the Bolognese. It was a pile of very sticky pasta that was clumped together covered, no drowning, in a very bland attempt at a Bolognese sauce. It was very lacking, difficult to eat because of the sticky clumps of pasta, and a sauce that was not much better than Fazolis. The $17 price on the pasta was an insult. I would not recommend this restaurant, ever. I have given it two chances and both have not only failed to impress, but have completely disappointed.

My wife and i went there recently on a Thursday night, and could not get served at the bar! We sat down on the corner after a couple had just left. The female bartender didnt even say hello or acknowledge us in any way. A gentlemen walked up next to us a few minutes later evidently for a carryout, and she talked to him and went to ring up his order. By now we are getting a little irritated, as she still hasnt spoken to us or even cleaned the empty glasses from in front of us. The gentlemen left and she went back to the register and making drinks. It as now approaching close to 10 minutes I bet. She came our way again to wash or put away some glasses, she grabbed the signed bill from the former customers, and still said nothing to us! We got up and exited! There were a total of 2-3 other patrons at the bar...Unreal....!

New restaurant and it is clear their wait staff is new and undertrained. Hint hint nudge nudge Convivio. I went last night and basically tried everything; check out the photos. The food was good; pasta is all made fresh daily. They are still working out a couple kinks, but it was an enjoyable dinner. Will return with high hopes and hopefully to readjust their rating. Capri, down off Keystone/71st area is still the best Italian Ive encountered in Indy.

We really enjoyed our dinner tonight. The entrees of pizza and the tortelloni pansotti were both very good. The pizza is a great deal, enough for 3 meals. Our server was also very good. The Caesar salad was also very good. The only thing stopping a 5 star review was that the lobster bisque was very disappointing (thin, weak flavor, more like tomato soup) and the calamari appetizer was weak.

Nice atmosphere and good service. The complementary bread and oil is good. I had the Tagliatelle al Convivio which was tasty but the small pieces of chicken in it werent too great. My fiance had the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese which was good but very heavy on the wine taste. The pastas arent anything spectacular and maybe a little over priced.

Very nice and attentive staff, from the minute we walked into the building, the staff was doing their job. Our dinner was delivered to our table quickly, great service. But, the food was mediocre at best, even the complimentary bread, was just ok. Nothing was not bad, but everything was just ok...and for the price, shouldve been phenomenal.

Had the lunch combo of soup and lasagna and it was pretty good. They bring out bread before your meal and it is served a really tasty olive oil / tomato sauce. I will say that my portion wasnt that big for the price. However, the pizzas looked to be a good value and Ill have to try one of those next time.

Weve eaten at Convivo on four occasions and each meal was delicious. The mussels pepata (steamed mussels, tomato, garlic and parsley ) were magnificent. Same with the beet salad in balsamic glaze. Pasta is fresh and sauces aromatic and delicate. Very enjoyable.

Ask for the "tour" of the pastas. The server was very knowledgeable about the restaurant and each of the homemade pasta. He raved about two in particular- the tortellini al convivio and the rigatoni. So we got those. Bread while waiting!

My experience was great here. I had the Chainti wine, bruschetta and the Insalata salad. Kathy was the bartender and had a great recommendation for a salad, which was fantastic. Overall, the food and wine is exceptionally delicious.

Inexperienced staff, $10 dollar salads with <$1 of ingredients, luke warm pizza, pasta dish too peppery to enjoy, and another pasta dish with so little sauce it was dry. Not likely to last long.

The service is great, excellent food, had the soup and half lunch portion lasagna. They make their pasta in house everyday, so youll know its fresh! I will be coming back to try everything.

Today is my 6th visit since they opened. I love this place. Freshest pastas. Clams linguine with the white sauce is the best. Lovely staff. Will return as often as possible.
