Before I get to the negative, I have to say that the food was fabulous. I had blackened chicken alfredo and it was the best Ive ever had. The flavor cant be beat. My husband had a grouper dish and he said the same thing. The flavor was unbelievable. The bad part was the service. Probably the worst Ive ever experienced at a restaurant. Our server left us sitting for about 10 minutes before ever even acknowledging us. She even apologized for that when she finally came to the table. We ordered right away. When she brought our food to us she sat it on the table and walked away all in one motion. She barely stopped. Same thing with the drinks, extra bread, and extra oil. No words, just swooshed by and dropped the food off. We were checked on twice by an older lady. She was very kind and prompt with our requests. I have never left a negative review on a restaurant before. The food was fabulous, but it doesnt make up for the worst service and restaurant experience Ive ever had.

Tried Tradewinds last night at the recommendation of Gabe Zellmer. Absolutely one of the best experiences that we have ever had with an Italian restaurant. My wife had the Mediterraneo and loved it! The Ravioli was the chefs special, so I tried that. It was delicious! We have found a new favorite restaurant. We live in Navarre, which is over 30 miles away, but it doesnt matter. We will visit this place again, a lot. The atmosphere is simply one of the best we have seen. It reminds me of being in Italy. Having seen quite a lot of Italy while in the Navy, Tradewinds is at the top of the list. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a great place to eat, to go. You will not be disappointed. Cant wait to work my way through the menu. Tom and Terry, you have succeeded in giving this area a wonderful place to dine. Look forward to becoming a regular!

Customer service is the name of the game at this restaurant. I just met with a group of friends for my first visit to the Tradewinds Restaurant. I ordered the calzone with added spinach and mushrooms. It was wonderful. The other people at my table raved over there dinners. Our server, Melody , was just the right mix of attentive, friendly, and anticipatory. The staff helped each other and had a friendly attitude toward all the guests. An added bonus was the bread dipping oil, which was spicy and had lots of flavor. This was a win all the way around!

So wonderful to have a little niche Italian restaurant in Niceville! Food is excellent, the atmosphere is casual and is a great place for couples or families. Reservations are recommended, but weve been lucky on drop ins. Its chilly inside so bring a wrap. I got the shrimp alioli and thoroughly enjoyed it...along with the calamari. The location is tricky to find, looks a little bit like a dive on the outside, but venture in - you will be glad you did!

A bit of an oddball! Walking up to this place, expectations were a little weary as it doesnt have the classic image of a restraunt. Inside is the same story with local pictures and dollars hanging on the wall. I was greeted by a very friendly and casual staff and made me feel right at home. Their food was outstanding! The price didnt match the atmosphere of the place and the casual waitstaff but it is definitely worth it. I will be coming back!

I am Italian and I tell you that nothing is Italian in there. Pasta is not their job. Nowhere in Italy youll find a single place where they serve a clams linguine in a bowl full of water or where they serve meat upon pasta (2 for 1?). Pizza? Italy is 6000 miles far, also for pizza. One star only for antipasto, which is ok. Good restaurant if you only like the name of Italy but you never ate anything really Italian. Surely you wont there.

Truly AMAZING! A MUST!! If you ever find yourself in the area and I mean an hours drive I would make the trip!!! The food here is absolutely amazing! I now only eat one thing off the menu, the mediterraneo with orange sauce!! If you love seafood and pasta then come get this dish! Cant say enough how delicious the food here and this place is my all time favorite. Thank you to Tradewinds for being here!!

Great food! I highly recommend this restaurant. My wife and I are transplants from New Orleans so we were anxious to taste the local cuisine when we arrived. TradeWinds never disappoints! The food is fantastic, the service is wonderful, and Tom is an excellent host. My wife and I happily make the short drive from Crestview, FL to Niceville for Tradewinds.

Awesome place, we had a really nice and excellent waiter. We had more than plenty to eat. The food is freshly made right at the restaurant. One of the best places I have ever been to. If you ever decide to go dont judge the place by its small looks. The inside is pretty tightly packed, but if you can get over that you will have an amazing time.

Food was good and portions were pretty good size. Atmosphere was of a dining room of a pizza joint for example there was random memorabilia hanging on walls along with dollar bills everywhere. It was loud inside and at times hard to have a conversation. Prices were of a high end Italian restaurant. Expect $50 for 2 people and no drinks.

It was terrible. We were seated on the front porch and no one ever even took our drink order. I was very let down with the service there. 45 minutes and nothing. I decided to just leave. I do not recommend the place based on the service only because we never even got to taste the food. And we will never go back.

Went here while on a business trip. The hostess wasnt very personable and was a little snoddy because we didnt make reservations. The waitress was good and tried her best despite being extremely busy. The food was great and a bit pricey but a hefty portion. Good place to visit but not sure if Ill go back.

Oh my gosh, the fresh mussels in marinara sauce were amazing. Entrée was the best veal parmigiana weve ever had. Weve been here now over 3 months and this by far was our best meal. The place is small and casual, the staff was attentive and friendly and the food was amazing.

We come from Iowa to visit family and always make a point to have a family meal at Tradewinds. Fine cuisine at its best with a variety of items to choose from. Have never in 20 years had a poor experience or meal. Highly recommend Tradewinds!

Extremely rude hostess, we didnt feel like waiting around to see what kind of food a place like that turns out. I can imagine it must be excellent since the atmosphere and service is reminiscent of Captain Quinns shack in Jaws.

There is nothing better than Tradewinds for Italian infused with fresh seafood! The atmosphere is quaint, small, warm. We always end up lingering over lots of great wine. The staff is fabulous and you feel like family!

This is the best restaurant in Niceville, hands down. You wont be able to get a table without a reservation, but it is definitely worth the extra planning. Try the Blackened Chicken (or shrimp!) Aiolio - Its life changing!
