Ive been shopping at Meijer for over 20 years. Over time, especially the past two years, I shop there less and less. As of the first of June 1st, I just drive by and shop elsewhere. Someone at the corporate level or the local level makes decisions to eliminate products for lord only knows what reason? In the past 8 years I have had to go elsewhere to shop for 22 "staple" items that I used to buy at Meijer. More recently, they decided to eliminate a bread item that Ive purchased from them for 20 years. There were some days that I would make a trip to Meijer Just for a "Bread run" simply because of the choices and other bakery items they carried. Thats it, Im done! If you cant make money on bread, maybe Meijer should just sell bags of ice, after all its the most profitable item in the store! And thats a fact!!! Bread, cmon bread? Meijer is quickly becoming like Walmart! They stock the shelves with items they want you to buy, not the items you want to buy. In addition, several of the items theyve eliminated it seems were to make room for less healthy items. Meijers problem in Plainfield is there are several other choices in the area to chose from. I have neighbors who refuse to shop there for other reasons that relate to "grocery choices". In the beginning I couldnt figure out why, but now I understand. Good luck Meijer! Maybe you should pay closer attention to the needs of your customers and not so much the need to increase profitability. As you well know, if you dont have the time to listen to your customers, you wont have customers. If you want to be profitable you need customers! Its too bad I had to offer Meijer a ⭐️ rating, I would have preferred a choice that defines my review as

We shop here because we live right behind it. I will always shop Meijer over Walmart or Target, but this one isnt perfect. They are often under stocked, have out dated foods on the shelves (We have had to return food we didnt realize was expired, like smelly, disgusting fish), and lower level managers could seem to care less. They often have broken refrigerators, big messes on floors, and some less than stellar employees. I really do appreciate the people in the butcher department, although the meat selection is less than impressive sometimes. I would like to see what other Meijers are like to see if this is how they all operate. Nevertheless we will continue to shop here out of convenience, and we love the MPerks program, even if theyre not always the cheapest.

This is my local Meijer. It has its own dedicated stoplight to get in and out, so you dont have to fight traffic. This one is also open 24 hours a day. The produce is good quality, and they have everything. Prices are also good, although you may be able to get better deals at WalMart, but then you have to go further North and fight the crowds. Not worth it in my opinion. There is also a deli here where you can get fresh food and a place to sit and eat it. I enjoy that. The outlots are also getting developed so there are several shopping options, although I would imagine most of what you need you can get at Meijer.

I have been going here for years. Consistently has expired dairy AND produce on the shelves. They stack their shelves in the middle of Saturdays---you cant even get throught the aisles when doing so and employees dont even try to get out of your way. Its dirty, employees appear "unkept". Absolutely can not STAND going to this store. Filed complaint regarding the expired inventory and was told by corporate the store manager would contact me---never did. The only thing it has going for them is offering their own line of natural/organic products that are well priced.

I am not sure how Mejiers is still making it. I have tried to shop at Mejiers again and again and keep being let down. There prices are way higher than anywhere else. I hear all the commercials about how great there prices are, so I wonder in and keep getting hit in the face with there overly priced goods. From what I get from the parking lot is, if you arent driving a range rover, you more than likely arent going to be able to afford Mejier prices, just my 2 cents..

This store is great! Pharmacy employees are hard workers! Meat and produce dept employees answer any questions and get anything I need! Any problems I bring to management is handled immediately. I find almost everything Im looking for every trip! There is 1 cashier who stands out! A girl named Sam, does an exceptional job when bagging groceries to never cross contaminate...ie. no raw meats or chemicals with other groceries.

I love shopping here. The food selection is a lot better than at Walmart. You can still get just about anything you can get at Walmart at this Meijer. I also come here late at night once in a while to pick up fish supplies for my pets. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Ive been going to Meijer for over a decade. Its generally a very clean store and even in the night shift hours I get good service.

I found this location to be horribly inefficient. No employees were in the electronic and mens clothing area. It required a red phone usage and solid 5 minute wait to get help. There were 8 self service checkout lanes and only 3 actual check out lanes open. Sorry but unless Im being paid to check myself out and bag the items, Im not doing it. I wont be using this location again and recommend others to avoid.

Produce is always empty, soggy, and past its prime. The meat cases look disgusting and are asking for food poisoning. Milk is never stocked and its impossible to get someone to pull from the back. Prices in electronics is never competitive. There are never enough registers open, I generally have go through self checkout with $200 worth of groceries. The Meijer in Frankfort is a million times better.

I was visiting my mom from out of town and she wanted some Siracha sauce. I have always loved Meijer when I lived in Springfield, IL; but now I live in Peoria, IL and there is no Meijer. So going to the one in Plainfield was fun. The store is clean, well organized with wide aisles. The checker was personable with a great sense of humor. Another plus for this store.

Very clean store that is open 24 Hours. They have a pharmacy as well but that is not open 24 hours. Gas station is usually cheaper than the other ones nearby. They sell more than just groceries (TVs, alcohol, clothes, bakery/deli, home improvement items and so on) Great place to go for one stop shopping.
