We went to Q-BBQ yesterday for the first time and we had a carry out pulled pork and salad dinner. The order was ready when I arrived and although the line was out the door the pick up counter was empty so I was in and out in a matter of moments. Got to home to try out the Q Western salad and was more than impressed, very fresh ingredients and plenty of them, probably the best carry out salad Ive had from anywhere in a long time. The pulled pork was tasty, smokey and moist n juicy, no sauce on bbq for us, we always judge any bbq without sauce to get a true taste of the pork/ beef and smoke flavoring first and I must say this was delicious. Also tried the burnt ends brisket [a sample portion] and once again thumbs up. Cant wait to go back and try a few other items. The Food: = Great! The Service: = Great for carry out The Price: = Reasonable P.S. My wife and I won 1st place in a World Championship rib cook-off back in 2004 at Baby Joes BBQ Company

For northern BBQ, the place is decent, I guess. If they didnt hype it up so much, I probably would not have been that disappointed. Yes, the place is tasty, but its nothing special. The wings had a good rub, but were not meaty at all. After my $11 wing dinner, I was still hungry. Service was pretty bad too, as the lady behind the counter knew nothing of the local beers, and they brought us the wrong sides. Everyone at our table thought the food was fine, but no one was blown away by any means. If you want real BBQ, head south. BBQ should come from a shack, not a yuppie downtown place surrounded by frozen yogurt shops. Seriously, Ive never seen so many frozen yogurt shops in my life.

I visited Q for a casual dinner with my wife and her brother this past weekend and I was quite impressed. Its a no frills BBQ restaurant that focuses on the taste and experience of eating BBQ, which they nail perfectly. The walk-up ordering system is simple and uncomplicated, yet they offer a solid variety. Prices are extremely affordable and a wonderful value for the quality of food and the portion that they supply. The drink menu is also simple, yet solid, and this is the first restaurant that Ive ever found that serves nostalgic Hamms beer (in a can!) which pushed it from a 4 star to a 5 star in my book. Overall, wonderful food, value and atmosphere - BBQ done right!

Ya know, I got to say I was not expecting to write a review right now. I was googling restaurants in La Grange to eat for lunch today. When Q BBQ came up I had my usual though of Id like to cause I love BBQ, but this place has disappointed me every time. Ive been there maybe 6 times, and while I love their sauces, most times their meat hasnt been that great. And their sides for me were constantly over cooked. My spicy brussell sprouts happened to be dark brown every time. Ill probably give this place yet another chance like a give it every several months, but Ill probably have the same thought that it wont be any good.

Just thinking about Q BBQ makes my mouth water. I have to say BBQ is one of my favorite foods and Q now ranks up there with my all time favorite BBQ joints! If you havent been there - go get it - youll love it. Ive had it all RIBS, CHICKEN, PULLED PORK, SLIDERS and their dishes are truly tasty right down to the sauce. Speaking of which, the sauce is like an undiscovered band that I know will hit the big time. Im a sauce-a-holic and their sweet sauce is on its way to award winning status. Glad to have them in my downtown so its just steps away to great BBQ.

For some reason I dont want to love this place--it feels like such an inauthentic bbq place, too slick and suburban and franchisey (even though there are only a couple locations and theyre only in Chicago). BUT the food is just really, really good. This is coming from someone whos been to just about every good BBQ place in Chicago. If youre in the La Grange area, its 100% worth coming here. They give you a ton of sauces to experiment with, big portions, fair price, and well its just really good.

What a disappointment this was. I was hoping based upon the ratings that this is actually good barbecue up north. I guess you guys dont get down to the South and have real barbecue. When you have to slather your meats in sauce to hide the fact that its got so much fat on it theres a problem. The burnt ends taste like chopped up Slim Jims pressed together. The brisket was over half fat on each slice. With that being said the spicy fries and hush puppies were phenomenal. Great job on those sides.

One of the worst experience. I wish I could give them negative stars. Me and my family ordered Memphis style wings and spicy wings. Both the orders tasted sweet. There were 3 teen kids and they were more interested in gossiping amongst themselves rather than finding out about customer satisfaction. Finally I went up to the girl that took the order would not even listen to me. She just outright dismissed my comment. I believe they dont care about customer service.

Place has decent food. I dont understand how people can say this is better than Rib places that are strictly cooking ribs. I think the only reason this place gets a 4 is because it is rated by Lagrange stuck ups. If you want fast ribs that arent really anything to be excited about, go here. If you want to get meaty tender ribs, keep driving, as this place feels like it is a fast food rib stop. I give it three for fast food, and decent portions, that is it.

As far as service, this place is excellent. Ive been here 3 times and everyone is friendly and attentive. As far as food, it can be hit or miss. Ive had the brisket, burnt ends, and ribs. Sometimes parts of the meats are very dry and sometimes its all really moist - when its moist, its really good. The sauces are great too. The hush puppies, beans, mashed potatoes and fries are pretty good but the mac & cheese is very bland. Thats why I say hit or miss.

We enjoy everything from the Q. All meats, sides are tremendous -its surpassed our last BBQ place by far. This is now our once a week whether we need it or not place and we need it. Order extra fritters, not many as good as the Q. And, be nice to Trish. She always takes care of us and the order is ready to go when we arrive -shes the goods. If your experience wasnt top notch, what were your expectations? Ours have never been disappointing.
