My husband and I were in Freeport due to military obligations, I checked reviews online before we even went to the restaurant, and it said it was the 3rd best restaurant in Freeport. The food was decent, we could tell the rice was frozen though. The crab ragoon was probably the best thing we had there. The main issue however was the service. Before I get into details about our particular waitress, Ill give the run down of customer service overall. The male hostess had the option of giving us a booth or a table on either side of the restaurant, and he ended up picking the booth that had the tip and receipt still on the table, no silverware, and had not been cleaned yet. I ended up taking a tissue and wiping down my seat. The other people we interacted were bustgirls, and although they were polite their greetings were stiff and unnatural. Like the first bust girl we encountered interrupted our conversation just to say "Hi" and nothing else as she was giving us water. The second bust girl did the same thing and randomly interrupted us (she wasnt doing anything at our table) just to say "Hi" and nothing more. Again, they were very polite, but the only time I want to be interrupted is if theres something they need to ask, or if theyre checking up on us. Our waitress was a real gem, Im of course being sarcastic.First of all her appearance was very sloppy. I have african american hair, I understand how hard it is to maintain hair. However, if I can at least put my hair in a neat ponytail on the worst of hair days, this woman had no excuse. It honestly looked like she hadnt washed, brushed or styled her hair in days. A sloppy appearance only concerns me because shes handling my food. My second gripe is that she explained nothing on the menu. My husband had no idea there was a drink menu until after we order, this wouldnt have happened if menu was properly explained. Im used to going into a restaurant, having them ask if were new, hearing about the specials, and having a special menu explained to us. Another issue was I accidentally spilled my tea as I was pouring it into my cup. The waitress comes by the table and sees me cleaning up the tea. Instead of offering to help me clean up the spill or leaving quickly to get napkins, she asks us for our order. I order the appetizer and then she says abruptly, "Do you want me to come back for your meal." When she asked us to place our order it was after approximately 10-20 minutes of being there, and she had already asked us if we were ready to place our order, not if we wanted and appetizer or something. So then afterwards we place our order, and its only then she go gets napkins. At the time I was wearing a nice sun dress, so had I not grabbed a napkin from a neighboring table, my dress could have had a nasty stain. The waitress obviously hated her job as she had a bored expression on her face and was moving along slowly. Also we expected our chicken to have a crunch, being that it was fried, and it did not. We do not know whether it was because the waitress failed to bring it out in a orderly fashion and the chicken became soggy, or because of how it was cooked. Overall nice for the price, but if they want to bring in more regular customers, they need to make some changes in their staff.

I have eaten at the Imperial Palace a number of times over the years. Kind of hit and miss as far as good food, never anything to rave about but ok for a change. Sometimes not as good as others sometimes the service is lacking, sometimes the food is not as hot as it should be. My last visit and I do mean my last, I bit into a rock that was in my MooShu Shrimp. The rock was about 1/4"x 3/8" of an inch and I really hurt one of my teeth. I called the waitress over and showed her the rock, she never asked if I was alright but instead said she couldnt do anything for me because the owner wasnt there. Please note I never asked her for anything I just pointed out that there was a rock in my food. I did take a picture of the rock sitting in one of their tea cups and gave her my phone number but no one ever called. Luckily by the next day my tooth felt better, it wasnt chipped, I think I jammed it in the socket, good thing I have tough teeth. My point is that I wasnt looking for anything as long as my tooth was not damaged but no one ever called to see if I was alright. At this time I would question the cleanliness of the restaurant and responsibility of the owner/management. It appears that a customer is on their own if anything should happen while dining at the Imperial Palace. I will no longer be eating at the Imperial Palace and if you should be eating there, "Chew your food carefully"

Well the first tune we went was on a weeknight. It was the best Asian food Ive had in a while, definitely the best in Freeport that Ive found this far. We ordered General Tso chicken, vegetable fried rice, combination fried rice, shrimp toast, crab ragoon, egg rolls; reverting was amazing! We went on a Sunday and although the quality had dropped a little bit (it was busy) the service had improved, not that it was bad before just unmemorable. But this time the waitress was a saint! Both times we were there we had our three children with us, and she put our order in right away so the kids wouldnt have to wait to eat, since it was already one. (I planned a crock pot lunch, but it wasnt done when we got home from church) both times I have been pleased! Plus, they have hot tea on the table. Thank you! Thats all we need. Price was appropriate.

Certainly the best Chinese restaurant in Freeport! This place has been in business for a long time and for good reason. The staff and the ambience of Imperial Palace make you feel welcome, and the food will please you even more! The appetizers are worthy of praise, and the entrée selection can satisfy any craving. The servings are proportioned generously and they refill your rice when you dine in, now that is service! I recommend the Mongolian Beef, it is absolutely delicious. Imperial Palace will hopefully stand for many more years, because it is one place that everyone should go to at least once.

this place was packed when I stopped by for a carryout. I asked several people that were leaving, hows their food-all responses were very good. However, when I got back to my motel, I found their garlic chicken to be very bland and lacking in ingredients, including the chicken- I wound up throwing part of it away. Crab rangoon was very blah tasting as well. Only thing I really liked was the pot stickers,

Sadly I must give a poor review. This at one time was a very good restaurant. We will not return. The egg drop soup was served lukewarm and was flavorless. The egg rolls should have been called cabbage rolls because we didnt see or taste anything but cabbage. Again no flavor. The only reason I have given 2 stars is because the service was very good and the dining room and restroom were clean.
