After eating there for several years - and having numerous bad experiences with the staff - I hit my limit today. I will NOT be back in this lifetime. Their food *rocks* ... very good, all Lennys locations are consistent in this regard. However, I was given a hard copy of their online form by a friend at work and asked if I would stop by to pick up two sandwiches on my way by there during lunch today. When I arrived, I handed that form to the first staff member and told her, "Oh, they also wanted lettuce on the second sandwich." (co-worker had called). The employee said, "Okay," cheerfully, with a smile on her face - keeping the order sheet. After waiting in line, my turn came up. The sandwich preparer said my number. Not anything else. I then find out that she wants to know what I want on the sandwiches. I tell her that I have no idea - and that the sheet was given to the young lady that took the order originally. She was unmoved - literally. She gave me a 1,000 yard stare and said (and did) absolutely nothing. I had to then step out of line while I called co-workers to find out what was on the sandwiches. It was a pretty straightforward order on both sandwiches, too. I repeated three times what went on the first sandwich; by the time I progressed to the second sandwichs details, she appeared to be in some vague approximation of work mode and got that right. All this time, I was being watched by the cashier. When she took my money, my change was placed in my hand. I was never told how much change I was getting (which annoys me somewhat), but what annoys me the most is I was not thanked. Those of you familiar with fast food restaurant workers in Memphis know this experience all too well. Lennys system of requiring one to talk to three (3) different staff members when trying to get out the door with your food works fine if you are at a Lennys in Bartlett at 3:00 in the afternoon on Saturday; its less precise when there are 15 people in line during lunchtime. Whoever decided to use this method of taking orders at a high-volume restaurant clearly consulted crack smoking Capuchin monkeys in order to come up with this wonderful method. Perhaps I did something wrong by handing the first young lady a printed out online order form - but in hindsight I also realize that by my clarifying what was supposed to be on the sandwiches, at that point she should have been cognizant enough to tell that I would need the order details 10 feet down the counter ... or simply have given me the order form back. Im the third person that I know refusing to go back in there because of silliness like this being commonplace. I will not lose sleep over it. I simply will.not.go.back.to.Lennys.

Let me explain why Im giving this Lennys only 4 stars-its not that I didnt find the food appealing, but my experience there wasnt initially pleasant. The store manager ending up keeping my change from a $20 and refused to return it once I realized she didnt give it to me. She told me she had to count down the drawer before she could give it back to ensure it was $15 over. Needless to say I left the store without my change & immediately went to report the problem. Once I explained the problem to the corporate office, within 1 hour the restaurants asst. manager called me to apologize and to let me know she had my $15 and also offered me a free sandwich for my trouble. Her name was Katie. I really appreciate her taking the time to see that my problem was resolved. If it were not for her, I would be boycotting this location FOREVER and advising my friends and everyone I know to do the same!! The store manager needs major training on how to treat customers. The way she attempted to handle the situation and talk to me was completely unacceptable! Thanks again Katie for making an unpleasant situation bearable.

I went in around 3 pm to order a sandwich. After 2 mins of standing there I was finally greeted. I proceeded to order my food and the cashier was not engaging at all. I wanted to eat my food there.. I overheard one employee say that the sandwich was for here. She then seemed confused and she asked me if I wanted to take it to go because they closed at 3pm. She stated that she lost track of time and forgot they closed at 3. As I was walking out, there was no closing time on the door. So I felt like the kicked me out. I will not return to this location. I am still in my car and its 3:38pm and the open light is still on. So whats really the issue??? Why does this business "close at 3pm" while the other locations are open til 9??

Bums are sitting at a table next to the cash register, they yell at you to give them money. They did it over and over to people in line and employees do nothing. Same thing when you sit outside. They don’t offer water to drink, they make you get it out of a sink. I don’t feel safe, the water is disgusting and employees don’t care at all. I will never visit this store again.

Stopped in for some Philly Cheesesteaks. Good considering how far from Philly we are. Great, friendly staff. Water was available from soda fountain like normal (addressing a previous comment). Would come again.

They took the time off on the front door I guess so they could close at anytime. Could be open from 10:30 to 11 for all I know
