I used Jarosch Bakery for a simple wedding cake. At first I was a bit uncertain of the professionalism of the establishment because I had sent them an email tasting inquiry from their site and they had never gotten back to me. But when I called them up a few days later, they were friendly and quick to accommodate me at schedule an appointment. Once I walked it, I realized that it was a family run, small bakery and so they probably didnt have someone consistently manning the site and email responses. I had put down a $25 tasting fee before I walked into the bakery, which at first I was irked about, but not only did they tell me it would be deducted from my cake cost, should I get one from them, but I realized why they needed it; they had baked an entire cake with my requested cake flavors and frostings on each layer. Looking back on it, it seems that that would be the best way to give someone an idea of how a fresh cake would taste, but it was wonderful because I could take home the rest of the cake and have my husband, friends and family give me their input on the cake as well. I only wanted a 14" round cake, no tiers, and they were very accommodating and willing to work with me. I got a red velvet cake and I provided them with some cake toppers and lots of decor toppers (Fake leaves, fake acorns, and paper flowers) for them to arrange as they saw fit. I told them they didnt need to use all of it my any means, but make it pretty, as I trusted their eye. While the cake I received was wonderful and beautiful, I was a bit surprised that they did in fact use all of the decor I gave them. It seemed a bit busy and crowded to me; but that was a very small concern of mine. The cake itself was wonderful. Im always a huge fan of red velvet, and this bakery knows how to do it right. I highly recommend their wares, they do beautiful work!

MY REVIEW IS NOT BASED ON ANY OF THE BAKED GOODS THIS PLACE SELLS SINCE I WAS NEVER ABLE TO TRY ANYTHING! I WAS RECOMMENDED TO THIS BAKERY BY MANY PEOPLE AND I DROVE OVER AN HOUR TO GET THERE! I WAS VERY EXCITED TO HAVE MY DAUGHTERS FIRST BIRTHDAY CAKE MADE HERE SO I WENT THERE EARLY ON A SATURDAY AND IT WAS FULL OF PEOPLE SO I TOOK THAT AS A SIGN THAT THE PLACE MUST BE JUST AS GOOD AS I HAD HEARD! WELL FOR STARTERS NOT ONE OF THE MANY PEOPLE IN THERE CAN SO MUCH AS BOTHER GREETING YOU, BUT BESIDES THAT I GRABBED A NUMBER AS I SAW EVERYONE ELSE DOING AND WAITED! TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORTER I SHOWED HIM A PICTURE OF WHAT I WOULD LIKE, HE ASKED WHAT DATE I NEEDED IT FOR AND HE THEN SAID OH I DONT THINK THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN...ONE OF OUR CAKE DECORATORS IS OUT AND THAT IS ALOT OF WORK! NOT ONCE DID HE SAY THE DATE I NEEDED IT FOR WAS THE PROBLEM! HE THEN SAID IF YOU GIVE ME YOUR PHONE I CAN TAKE IT AND SHOW SOMEBODY IN BACK TO SEE IF THEY THINK THIS CAN BE REPLICATED! WHEN HE CAME BACK HE SAID YEAH THEY THINK THEY CAN DO IT AND PROCEEDED TO FILL OUT A FORM! FIRST THING HE ASKS ME AGAIN IS WHAT DATE I NEEDED IT FOR SO I REPEATED IT TO HIM AND AS I WAS ASKING ABOUT THE FILLINGS AVAILABLE HE SAID LET ME STOP YOU THERE....THERE IS NO WAY YOU ARE GETTING A CAKE MADE HERE WE NEED AT LEAST 2 WEEKS NOTICE ON A CAKE LIKE THIS! HE DID NOT BOTHER TO OFFER ME A SOLUTION OR SAY HEY WE CANT MAKE THIS BUT WE CAN MAKE THIS! NO THAT WAS TOO MUCH WORK FOR THAT YOUNG MAN! SO HE BASICALLY WASTED MY TIME AND SEEMED TO NOT WANT TO DO HIS JOB WHICH IS TO SELL! SO I DONT CARE HOW GOOD THIS PLACE IS IF YOU CANT EVEN BOTHER TO PLEASE A CUSTOMER!

I grew up in the suburbs and my family has been ordering birthday cakes and other desserts for parties from Jarosch for as long as I can remember. Their cakes are spectacular--their whipped cream frosting is perfect, and their buttercream doesnt get that chewy, overly sugary texture that you find with grocery store cakes. So good! And their customer service is wonderful. I called recently to see if they would custom decorate some of their fantastic donuts for a special occasion (after the woman at Deerfields wouldnt even hear me out--they dont decorate donuts, period). The man I talked at Jarosch was very accommodating and exceptionally polite, and Im very excited to see how those donuts turn out! If Jarosch could open a location nearer to where I live, I would go there all the time. Wonderful business!

Jarosch bakery was recommended to us by friends, and we were not disappointed. On our first visit we went in and bought a variety of cookies, including their yellow smiley face cookies. Everything was amazing. The next visit we purchased a chocolate birthday cake. Again, the taste was very high quality. Sice that time we have returned and tried almost everything they have to offer. Out of everything, I would have to say that the coffee cakes are my favorite. They have new selections all the time and everything is great! Besides for the excellent food quality, the staff are all very friendly and the atmoshpere is excellent

Not worth the price, nothing special! I could get a better cake at Food4Less. Atleast stay away from whipped cream cakes. I like and wanted to order cool whipped cake but unfortunately had to go with the other choice because the Birthday was on Sunday and i didnt want to get a cool whipped cake and not preserve it accordingly and didnt want to risk the party. The cake was broken and patched on one corner under the icing. Cmon. Definitely not worth 150.00 (appx) price for a full sheet cake. Also, I could have used better advise regarding topping, filling, size,..e.t.c I should have went to Central Continental.

I love this gem. My papaloves eclairs more than anything and this place has wonderful ones. I got a little our of my way just to get him some. Today I also bought the Edelweiss Cake and is was way better than I thought it was going to be. Id give it an 8 out of 10. Full of flavor and so unique but still somehow tasted like home. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait but you pull a number when you first enter and they have a great system going. Even with a lot of customers, I never have to wait very long. Dont be scared of a little line. Go, you wont regret it!

I wished that I never found out about this bakery because now Im going to be here every Monday after work, all because of their wonderful red velvet donuts!!! Dark red, moist, dense, cake-y donuts covered in white glaze topped with red sprinkles! Ive been thinking about them since I had my first bite of heaven 2 days ago. Ive also tried their cookies, they have a great selection and are also delightfully yummy. Ill be back in a few days to get more red velvet donuts and to try other things....cant wait!

I dont know what everyone here is talking about and I wouldnt be suprised if the reviewers had a vested interested in this particular bakerys success but I live about a mile and a half away and have been there 3 times. None of these times were any better than the other. The cookies that they make are nothing more than colored butter and sugar and the appearances are average. I even went in to inquire about ordering a cake... there selection of 3 different types is severely limited. What a let down!
