will not recommend, I just walked in and set up my laptop and before I can go order a drink the girl told me I had to buy a drink to use the internet and that I didnt buy a drink in front of all the customers, I was so embarrassed and I told the girl I was just about to buy a drink and she didnt have to tell me to buy one. I really felt like I was singled out and the girl on staff was a racist, I then told her I would like to speak to her manager she then said the manager was not around and why did I want to talk to him for. I then told her she was rude for what she did and I would like to make a formal complaint with her manager, she then calls another girl to come and write my name and number on a paper and Im currently waiting to let the management know on there staffs customer service. I then sat there and studied for and hour and I heard numerous people ask for the internet code and not one was asked if they purchased anything, and also every white couple that came in was offered samples and greeted when they entered and left, y was I not offered the same treatment.

This is a Great Place for Breakfast, brunch and what not. They could make really spicy ...They really care and they have different options. You could be new, but they really take care and very nice. They can make a Special Sandwich really good for 5 dollar 25 cents approximately....this is best you can get ..I go there on weekends. i was there on September 27 2015 , again on 10/3 and 10/4/2015. They can add special flavors too. They also have Ice creams which are Sugar free- amazing.. Melissa is super quiet, nice, workaholic...sincere, honest and good. Niko Capello goes out of the way to come and give on your table-he does not need...he travels extra mile. Ken did a great job on the first day without knowing me... Mahir did really well on Saturday. Other manager to mention is Donna..she looks tough but a very nice girl. She means business only:) No joking around:)

This is not about the restaurant overall. The food and the ice cream I would generally rank as Very Good. However, the Red Velvet Cake is not Red Velvet Cake. It is a yellow cake with red food coloring. Red Velvet Cake is supposed to have equal part notes of cocoa and vanilla with a hint of sour/tange/bitterness from either vinegar or buttermilk. Theres certainly room for interpretation with this cake. It originally received its pigment from beet juice. One can go that route if they want to be more natural with it. But it is, by definition, a type of chocolate cake. Its light on the chocolate for a type of chocolate cake and heavy on the vanilla for any cake, but thats part of the appeal. But once theres no cocoa in that cake, youre selling a lie. And I dont want to pay to eat it. If I wanted yellow cake, Id order it.

I frequent here during my visits to Chicago because its near to the bus/L stops I use. The service recently is friendly and warm, and they serve Uncommon Grounds Coffee, if youre familiar. They have a variety of baked goods, as well as a cafe-style menus, with panini, salads, etc. They also serve ice cream and desserts. The other day I had a western-style egg sandwich and it was simple and filling. Nothing too fancy, but exactly what I wanted to get started. Im picky about my lattes because I was a barista for a few years, and I was a little disappointed in the preparation of mine. Too hot, no proper foam at all. Ah well. Nothing a little honey cant fix. Their wireless is quite fast on my 5+year old laptop, though! You request the password from the cashier.

As an aspiring writer this place is the bees knees. They have tons of options for me to choose from not like the typical cafe , this place boost a full menus of hot and cold items . And the people watching i have been able to do from here is priceless , I have been inspired by the ram don walker by way too many times to count. The staff has always been nice and helpful . There is a review here where a guy claims their staff here is somehow racist , well as an Afro-American customer i can say unequivocally i have never ever experience that at this establishment and or witnessed it… Have the Zanzibar ice cream if your there its to die for. Ill agree that this place is a bit pricey, but their sandwiches won me over. Thier ooey-gooey panini chicken salad sandwich with cheddar cheese was just that - ooey-gooey and tasty. Their chicken salad was well made - with a hint of dill and lemon. What attracts me the most about this place is their hours. They are open late - till about 10-11pmish everyday. Since moving into my new apartment, I was left without internet and forced to search for wifi hotspots. An then Zanzibar came by...what a great guy that Zanzibar. Try their blue moon ice cream - a rare find in chicago!

Ive honestly never been treated so poorly at an ice cream shop. One of the employees was bent out of shape. He made the wrong coffee and I asked for him to make the correct coffee. He did but would not stop giving me an angry stare. The whole time I was there. He wouldnt say anything, just stare. When I stared back, he started toward me as if he wanted to fight. First time Ive been physically threatened in an ice cream shop.

The friendly staff and reasonable prices are both strong reasons why I call this bar my "neighborhood go-to." However, I have recently enjoyed going to other establishments more simply because the cooking smells from Zanzibar permeate my clothing and stay with me all day. If youre fine with smelling like a panini, thats cool. They do have the best ice cream in the North side; their quality is undeniable.

Im reviewing this as a coffee shop, but its a bit stronger as a lunch place. About 10 booths and tables. No outlets. Jazz at good (low) volume on the audio. Free wi-fi with password. Some random photos on wall - place definitely needs an atmosphere transplant. Tea is Stash bags. Chai is Oregon-opposite-of-chai. Small selection of Big menu of sandwiches and salads, plus ice cream and shakes.

OMG. So gooooood. Servers are great providing a wonderful customer service experience! You get to try the ice cream before you buy. Plenty of edibles and things to choose from served within matter of couple minutes. Try the 24oz oreo Peanut butter Banana milkshake for $6! Bring your books to study or read and chill out. Definitely a place to visit again and again!

Having lived here for more than a year now, this place is my spot. I will often grab a coffee and almond croissant on my way to work and stop in for soup or chili on the weekends. Its so delicious and that staff is great. I just picked up my Thanksgiving dessert this morning: pumpkin spice bars and a quart of the snap-o-lantern ice cream (drooling).

Best neighborhood coffee shop in Edgewater. Everyone that works here is super friendly. It reminds me of being at a small town shop. They take the time to get to know their customers and provide excellent service. Wide variety of items from sandwiches to ice cream. I highly recommend stopping here.
