I was part of a group of five from Canada who were attending a show and conference at the McCormick centre. There were also 8 others staying from other U.S. locations but also attending the show. We stayed three nights and found the accomodation very nice and the beds very comfortable. The breakfasts served every morning to us were more than exceptional and volume of food was plentiful. Several different choices offered and the three differet items I had were wonderful. We had a dinner on our second night and never have I tasted better food. Dave even prepared a special printed menu with exactly what we had ordered that morning. Appetizers of Shrimp, and Crab Cakes were awesome. Homemade soup or great caeser salad. Steak, tender and flavourful lamb chops, mashed potatoes, sweet potato fries with honey, grilled vegetables, and onion rings. Service was great! Dave even drove us to the McCormick Centre. He went out of his way to make us feel at home. Never had a better meal! All for $55.00 + I would highly recommendand definitely would go back!

tl;dr: The food was fantastic, service was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Long version: I went there with my brother and happened to eat during one of their gospel brunches. The owner was singing with the musician and I had one of their St. Benedict eggs benedict (including the processional). The eggs benedict consist of three poached eggs sitting on some very nice sausage, over a thick slice of bread and topped with a hollandaise sauce. They bring out a portrait of Pope Benedict with candles, so that you can "dine with the pope". I sampled my brothers creme brulee french toast... Ive never heard of it before and it was fantastic. I had such a good time that I followed up my initial order with a steak and creme brulee. Both were very, very good. Over all, it was wonderful! I have never had more fun having brunch (or had such a hard time walking after a meal).

A truly unique experience, especially on Sunday mornings when live hymns are performed. Its old school and the clientele is too, but the food is divine (no pun intended). Hit this place up upon a recommendation from a co-worker who saw it on Chicagos Best. Their breakfast combination platter is incredible and features a delectable assortment of items including some incredible sausage, amazing eggs, and stellar French toast. Everything is Christianity themed, which is pretty cute. Order Eggs Benedict for a little surprise.

Great place, the staff is hands down one of the best in the city, and the food is delicious. Every time Ive had a meal there with my dude or friends it has been a great time. For dinner the meatloaf and lamb chops are excellent. For brunch Ive ordered some different savory thing every time and each time it has been great. Also get the creme brulee for dessert, just do it, we only live once and I dont want you to miss out on that deliciousness.

What a cool place. We went for Gospel Brunch. Everything was really great--the professional service, the tasty food, the live organ music, the fact that there was no wait for a Sunday brunch--all great. I had the breakfast baguette, which was a crispy baguette topped with a nice mix of potatoes, bacon, eggs, and cheddar cheese. Ill be eating that again. Well prepared food in a neat, historic ambiance. And the oj is cheap!!!

Frequented Davids place often when I lived in Bridgeport. Moved 4 years ago. Went to buffet dinner for Valentines Day. Great space. Lots of room. Food was better than I remembered. Pork roast better than the A list steak houses near OHare. Remarkable sides, salmon, etc. Had no room for the roast beef which my wife said was better than the pork. Thank you, Dave, for a wonderful, romantic evening.

Had a reservation and just arrived to a closed restaurant. I drove 30 minutes for nothing and will not come back to try again. The guy on the phone said he called everyone about the cancellation. I received no call or voice-mail. I would suggest if you make reservations to call the day before to confirm. It is something you shouldnt have to do, but is what Id recommend due to my experience.

Dave the Chef and his staff are wonderful people. We had our wedding celebration at the Eagle Room. The food was sensasional, the decor was amazing and most of all the attention Chef David Samber and his staff gave our guests was amazing. This is very gorgeous Salon with a piano, the chief knows what his doing and its worth your money than any other restaurant in the area.

Great food, pleasant service. I had the stuffed pepper- which was excellent. The grilled green beans side had a perfect amount of smoky crispness. Wonderful comfort food on a cold day. I will be back!
