This place sucks, and Ill never patronize it again. I spent over $30 on a few Three Floyds draught beers and also had the french fries which were awful. There was lady who was sitting at the bar using a laptop computer whom I surmise was an employee or owner of the establishment. She was exceptionally aloof and unfriendly. The bartender had been fairly friendly, prompting me to leave a generous tip. When I left, however; he did not respond when I said goodbye to him.

My brother and I happened to be in the neighborhood and in need of a beer when we walked in the northdown cafe and our thirsts were more then answered. The bar keep was a fellow veteran and extremely helpful in answering all out questions about the sour beer we had on our minds. We left feeling great from the shots of freedom and wealth of knowledge provided to us while here and would highly recommend anyone who is thirsty to do the same, you wont regret it!

One of the best beer menus in the city, rotating almost daily. If youre a beer nerd and dont want the beer snob attitude that you get from many other places with a beer menu as in depth as theirs, visit this gem. Food is fantastic as well, chicken sandwich is one of the best Ive had, pork frittes are legit, you just may want to do some cardio first so you feel better about eating them!

Whoever answers their phone when you try to call to ask about event services is IMPRESSIVELY rude. They gave a short, unhelpful answer after I kindly informed them that I had already gone about contacting them via email and proceeded to abruptly hangup after their rude remark before I could get a word out edgewise. The food might be great but customer service is far from.

Northdown has been serving up an eclectic mic of craft beers and hearty gastropub fare for the last few years. Its a nice low-key spot to actually relax and talk with friends over beers and dinner. They really know their beer, and get some really interesting drafts that rotate constantly. Good location near CTA, and several other craft bars like Green Lady and Four Moon.

Decent neighborhood spot with a great beer list. Nice "bro-free" atmosphere that is often hard to find at Lakeview-area taverns. Menu is fairly limited and food is just ok, would have expected much better for the amount of time it took to get to our table. Service at the bar was excellent, much less so when we moved to a table.

Surprising amount of good vegan options on the menu like: vegan "pork" fries with almond "cheese", a burger, and quinoa with roasted vegetables. Lively vibe on weekends. They had some severe issues with their kitchen last time I visited (resulting in over an hour delay for our entrees), but they were very apologetic about it.

Northdown has a nice beer selection and a pretty laid back atmosphere. The bartenders are easy-going and have no problem handling any questions you might have. Prices are average for the selection. I think this is a good place to meet a few friends for a drink after work. The food menu is pretty good, too.

You is my favorite bar in the city. The draft list is always impressive and its likely the best bottle list around. Food is decent (the pork fries are better than decent) and the main bar room has a great feel. This a little older little more mature crowd usually and I love it here.

Stellar beer selection including plenty of hard to find varieties. Ive had drinks there on multiple occasions but only eaten here once. That said, the burger was excellent. It can get crowded in the evening so if your focus is dinner Id probably recommend going early in the night.

$50+ bucks for a chili dog, a burger and 2 beers for my girlfriend and I to have a night out. What a joke. The food was mediocre at best, the beer selection was good but over priced and the service at the bar wasnt exactly friendly. So many better options close by.

Tried to visit this place on Monday, June 27 at 2pm. Their hours on the door say 11am to 2am but they were not open. I had paid $4 for two hours of parking already. Bars and restaurants should honor the hours that are publicly posted.

This is my definitive local place - my fallback/default for dinner, lunch, and drinks. Fantastic food, a great rotating tap list, and they can still throw down a great Manhattan. Two words: Turkey Balls That is all.

Possibly my favorite bar in Chicago. The beer, service, and food are fantastic. Its fun, laid back, and always has a good crowd. Seriously, dont miss this one. Oh, and bring your vegan friends here - theyll be happy.

Laid back and good selection of beers. Food is all right, my only concern: the staff/the owner: they are moody! They dont say hi, they dont say bye. You dont feel welcome! Hey guys....thats business, smile!

Good neighborhood bar with a great draft and bottle beer selection including some hard to find beers. The mac-n-cheese is my favorite on their menu, but the burgers are decent too.

Northdowns burger was delicious. One of the best in the city. Beer selection includes a handful of hard to get Three Floyds beers. Highly recommended!

Great beer selection. Food not so great -- reuben was incredibly salty, fries were even worse. Maybe other options on the menu are better.
