If I need to fulfill a salty/sweet craving? Chocolate peanut butter pie. Someone having a party? Chocolate peanut butter pie. If I feel like being nice and want to bring in a treat to work? Chocolate peanut butter pie. In other words, the chocolate peanut butter pie is AMAZING!! Ive tried replicating this pie at home, but it doesnt even come close. I dont know what First Slice does, but Ill just leave it to them and pay the 20-something dollars because it is totally worth it. Everyone who has tried this also cant believe how delicious it is. From the chocolate pie crust to the crushed peanuts on top, everything is perfection. Other favorites of mine include the key lime and Michigan sour cherry pie.

The mission of the store here is my favorite. They donate all their profits to efforts to help the homeless in Chicago - they donate their "first slice". A good business with good food doing good for the community. The pie is always good especially the seasonal ones. The baked goods like pecan bullseyes and the cookies are pretty solid too. The cafe also serves lunch time food which has some good combinations of ingredients that make everything tasty, especially for the price.

Very casual and comfortable atmosphere. Salads are fresh, crisp and have a well-paired dressing each time. Sandwiches are piping hot and crispy every time. Have not been disappointed with any order on the menu, so far. Some of the pie flavors are too sweet for my taste but the Michigan sour cherry really hit the spot for me, its my fav. Plenty of teas and gourmet sodas sodas to choose from. Visit! Theres a little something for everyone here.

Delicious pecan pie and blueberry cheesecake. During the warm summer months its very hard for me to resist a stroll down to the cafe for a slice of pie while sitting outdoors people watching or reading. The first time I tried it was on Pi(e) Day and I was hooked. Its definitely a tiny shop so I try to go during the off hours so that I can guarantee a place to sit.

Excellent service, wonderful slices including all of the classics (as season allows) and some inventive flavors like the raspberry balsamic pear which I imagine are seasonal. Had the polka dot pie, which had just the right consistency and was incredibly rich. Stop in, pick up a whole pie to go. I have reason to believe there isnt a bad pie in the bunch.

Ordered the barbacoa sandwich which was great! Probably could have had just a little more meat, but the peppers and avocado complimented it nicely. Then had the blueberry cream cheese pie with a cup of black coffee. Perfect way to top off the meal. Staff is very nice and I left feeling like I didnt tip enough, thats how good the service was.

Great place to eat a nice light brunch. Had the Mediterranean quiche and I was a bit skeptical about the goat cheese (I only like feta cheese), but to my delight the goat cheese was not over powering and complimented the dish well. Very clean establishment too. I will definitely return if I happen to be on this side of town again.

I can only comment on the pies but theyre all great! I think the prices are reasonable too for the serving size they provide. Seating can be a little tight during peak hours, but if you live in the neighborhood its a great place to stop by for coffee and pie with a friend.

The lemon bars are the ish. Also picked up a mocha walnut biscotti and devoured it within seconds. A great little spot in Andersonville to sit and have a nice cup of joe and pie.. or bar. Seating is a bit limited. Bike rack is available just outside the front door..

Amazing food and amazing desserts! The 70s style salads are phenom especially the curry chicken salad. The tamales also look great but I have yet to try one. If you can pull your eyes and forks away from the pies try the flourless peanut butter cookie.

Love love love this place! The food is always excellent. I highly recommend trying the cheesecakes and french silk pie (its chocolate ice cream). The service has always been pleasant and its all around friendly, laid back atmosphere.

Tried a few of their sweet pies, and not only are the fillings delicious, but the crust is amazing and crumbly. I dont usually like the crusts of pies, but I love theirs. Cant wait to come back and try their savory pies.

Fantastic pie and quiche type dishes in the center of Andersonville. Try the sour cherry pie and the lemon bar! Tea (hot/iced) and coffee are also good. Their mini pies make a great alternative to cakes!

Great pie, cozy cafe! They have a cute, vintage-feel kind of place thats connected to an even cuter gift shop. It makes me feel like Im in a small town, even though its in the middle of north Chicago.

If you eat pies here, it will ruin you for all pies elsewhere. The best pies I have ever had. I was in a blueberry cheesecake rut and finally tried the apple last night. All delicious.

Great pies in a chill atmosphere. Definitely bring a friend to try different combinations. Pro tip: check out the fridge for pies to bring home or bake in your own oven

Their pumpkin cheesecake pie maybe the best pie in the city. Ive waited in the worst Chicago weather, just to have one for Thanksgiving dinner to wow the guests.

Tends to get crowded over the weekend, but very tasty pies. I recommend the pecan pie, as some of the fruit and cream pies are very rich and a bit too sweet.

My favorite pie place in all of Chicago so far. Good prices, good selection. My favorite is French silk! Will try their savory menu one of these days.

Good concept but the pie itself didnt live up. The fruit pies tasted like they were made with canned fruit, but that might be a seasonal thing.

Great slice of pecan pie. Coffee was delicious too. I can see that they use the best ingredients (organic, locally sourced). Big thumbs up!!

I got some iced tea. It was really refreshing and totally unsweetened. Some kind of peach tea iirc. Get a slice of pie. You wont regret it!

Its a cute little pie shop that has a good selection of fresh and refrigerated pies. They also have an eco friendly nik nac shop behind it.

Went for the first time for a breakfast meeting at work. Other than being hard to find the meal and service were very good. Would go back.

Apple pie was delicious. Crust has the right consistency of not too dried out but also not underbaked. Very good.

If youre in the area, stop by First Slice and grab some key lime pie. Its the best pie Ive ever had (sorry, Mama).
