I ordered dinner on a Monday night. The male respondent messed up my order horribly because he couldnt understand English. We called calmly to try to get a partial credit to our credit card and the man didnt want to help. He got an attitude fast and complained to my boyfriend that he should have ordered because he spoke Spanish. This restaurant might be good if you know Spanish. Otherwise, there is a good chance they will get your order wrong. The woman who took my order couldnt even spell Ashland. She spelled it Ashlane (after I correctly spelled it out to her). That is ridiculous when the street is only three blocks away. Long story short, instead of giving us the partial credit, he demanded all the food back and voided out the account. I worked at a Mexican restaurant for over 3 years, and someone who spoke English FLUENTLY always answered the phone so this issue wouldnt happen. I would try to order from there again, if they handled the situation better but they didnt. Big disappointment!!! :(

When we went we got a burrito, an al hambre quesadilla, and a sope. I got the burrito and it was very very good, didnt blow me away, but the quality of the meat is what surprised me–its very high in case youre wondering. Then I tried the Al Hambre Quesadilla, which is just steak and peppers, and oh my goodness, let me tell you, it was absolutely perfect. Kind of on the greasy side, but not on the sickeningly greasy side of things. Then I tried the sope. I have never had, or heard of, a sope before, but let me tell you it is an absolute treat. Its sort of like a fried corn tortilla, thats puffed up a bit, then topped with your choice of meat and vegetables. It was just so stinkin good. I cant throw enough praises at this place its a north side gem.

Quick service and nice staff. Chicken nachos were great, just needed a little salt. I have mixed feelings about their tamales. They have two types of tamales. One is filled with Chicken with a red/brown color inside. The other I believe is spinach and I couldnt figure out the meat. This one had a green tint on the inside. I did not care for the green one at all. The Chicken tasted better but was not anything special. I have had better tasting tamales from other parts of the city. Great service though and I will return for nachos for sure!!

Horrible customer service when you walk into this restaurant, no greetings or welcoming you to their restaurant, not even offered a menu then slow as paint drying on the wall to take your order!! Servers could care less about about getting up from their special table in front of their t.v. and they dont even wash their hands while handling the food! You can see way in the back of how they mishandled their produce near the bathroom area & keep their mops and buckets at. Makes you think twice eating at this restaurant!

The ingredients tasted like quality and fresh. Yummy quesadillas with queso asadero. I usually get mine with chicken (fresh chunks, not that canned stringy stuff you sometimes get in mexican places). My friend loves the seasoning in the ground beef tacos. The salsas are awesome- the verde is deliciously spicy, the rojo hints roasted tomatoes. I think this place has great value for the quality and portions youre getting. Its maybe 50 steps from the redline Morse stop.

Its one of those small places that Chicago seems to have a lot of. Dont let that fool you. When I used to live in Rogers Park? A white haired old lady would come out to that I got enought food. I think it was because I always ordered the combo plate that had her name on it? The combo plates are still good as ever. Place run by the family that owns it. This is the place to go for good food, at good prices.

I want to like this place, Ive been going for almost 2 yrs, they are the only Mexican restaurant near the Morse station. But they open to late for breakfast on the weekends and today on a Friday at 4:50 they are closed. Their food is good but definitely no particular flare about it and are a bit on the pricier side. I guess, Ill have to start going to Clark Street.

Be sure to try both the red and green salsas. The green has a wonderful avocado taste to it, but the chips are a little thick. The red enchilada sauce is a cant miss. Be sure to try the veggie tacos as well. More than enough to fulfill your dinner needs!

I recently went there and they charged me twice with my credit card.- I did not catch this until I looked the next day at my online statement Make sure that they dont do this to you. But the food is good.

Love the verde sauce, food is well seasoned and isnt dry. Hope to be able to try their agua de jamaica one day, they seem to be out whenever I go but I look forward to it! :) My favorite burrito place.

Small whole in the wall with very nice staff. Average decor but great food. I love their chicken enchiladas with green chile sauce... but depending on who is cooking, they can be pretty spicy!

Good seasoning of their food. Nice, big portions but a bit pricey compared to other nearby Mexican restaurants on Clark. Salsa is a bit bland for the chips. Credit card only if its above $10
