I live in Andersonville, and Kopi is my number one favorite place. Everything about this place rocks: The food is fun, fairly priced, and absolutely delicious. (Mostly vegetarian, too!) The workers (save for one, who seems like shes constantly having a bad day) are very friendly and helpful. The owner is there a lot, drinking wine and helping the staff out. The gift shop in the back is always great to look at, though since its handmade stuff, some stuff can be a bit pricy. And the drinks...well, they are to die for. You have to get some fun coffee/tea drink at Kopi. The atmosphere, especially in the front, is very cozy and laid back. Kopi will be one of the things I miss most about Chicago when I move!

I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and asked the cook to change it to an everything bagel, he explained that it had already been sliced I said ok thats fine I will take it. I was very close to his preparation table and asked may I have veggie cream cheese he said there "there is a counter you should use it" I was oh ok . I then went to the counter and explained that I did not want the order may I have a refund she said, No they already cut the bread. I was cheated out of 2.75 and the feeling I felt while being there was discrimination, by far my worst downtown experience EVER

Kopi is a nice little A-ville spot for any meal or just a coffee to go. For a while, I used to come here for the brunch and coffee, meggsicano and soy lattee, but finally made the trip for dinner. While it is not strictly vegetarian its definitely geared that way. I had a big salad and they one thing I didnt like is that all of the veggies were enormous and no cut up making it hard to eat. My husband loved his egg plant sandwich. If you are the dinner sort, keep in mind that any bottle of wine, even on special days, can be corked and taken with you to go.

Not my favorite place, and Im pretty easy to please. Im not sure if it just isnt my style or what, but i found the decor and service to be very.... akin to what one expects near a college campus. everything was just good enough, rather than anything really standing out as exceptional. thats a negative attribute in Andersonville, which boasts an outstanding collection of eateries. Ill go there if somebody else wants to, but it will not be my first (or third) choice.

I wish there were other independent coffee shops open this late b/c that might give some competition for Kopi, which serves just so-so coffee and an array of other options that really just dont need to co-exist...a quantity over quality model where my thai tea and thai coffee couldve just been better gotten at a nearby Vietnamese fast food joint a few blocks away. The cushioned floor-seating in front of the window is certainly a novelty though.

The House blend tea is AMAZING. I come here just to enjoy this tea. I love the atmosphere, and the service and the food! This is a great place to sit down with 1 or 2 friends just to catch up and relax. They also have a variety of baked goods. I tried the pear bundt and it didnt disappoint. My friend had the gluten free carrot cake, and it also was delish. This is a very chill spot where tea lovers can get their fix. Highly recommended

This is one of my favorite places in Chicago! I love the low tables with pillow in the front, and Ive purchased some of my favorite jewelry at the boutique in the back. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, with interesting masks and carvings from around the world. Theyve got a great variety of vegetarian and vegan options, and great drinks and pastries. A great place for a coffee date, appetizer, or light lunch.

Gem of a Cafe... Relaxing, subdued atmosphere. Light music playing. Great teas & desserts. Books, and handcrafted jewelry in the store in the back area. Very friendly, attentive service. Only thing that would make the perfect spot in Chicago is wi-fi. But the ambiance is more for engaging conversation than staring at your phone/laptop, so Ill keep it at 5 stars!

Always had great experiences going there, but I quickly stopped in last night for a small Mexican hot chocolate and a slice of plain cheese cake and realized that I paid almost $12 for two items!? The hot chocolate was a little over $3, but the slice! That is crazy, more than a slice from the Cheesecake Factory! Got to pay closer attention next time!

Small, but perfect. I got lost with a friend once. I got hungry, and my friend said, "There is Kopi a couple blocks from here." So we went to Kopi. Oh wow..... the food, the drink, dessert, They even have this little cute store in the back. I was tempted to buy everything in this place. I gave it four stars because it is too FAR from trains.

You have to try to carrot cake! Great atmosphere, nice music, friendly staff, LOTS of vegetarian and vegan options, amazing tea, and they have a cozy mezzanine in the store front window. Kopi also boasts a quant store full of fantastic gifts and personal trinkets. Even the bathrooms are an eclectic find worthy of Andersonville.

Wonderful zen cafe with great coffee and tea! Ive been taking all my friends to Kopi and they all love it. Its definitely my favorite neighborhood cafe. They have a cute shop in the back that has very unique clothes, lotions, jewelry and more. Great Carrot cake, Caprese Panini and when they have it, their Chili!

The atmosphere inside was a little to dark for me but the outside seating is lovely. Outside you can watch the people go by on the street. The food was decent. My table ordered the guacamole and I had the Capri sandwich. The service was very fast and friendly. There deserts look amazing.

Cozy spot for a quick sandwich and coffee, breakfast, or late-night slice of cake/pie. Wait staff are friendly and calm. Edited: The warm alcoholic drinks (vin chaud, etc.) are great in the winter, especially with the floor seating and large window for peoplewatching.

Some of my friends love this place, I guess it reminds me of the coffee shops in Madison. I think the food to me is just ok... not something to go out for your way for. It has a crunchy granola feel I guess.. its ok.. but not my favorite place to meet a friend.

Excellent coffee and deserts. Cant say the same for their overpriced bland food (I think they are trying to cater to too many dietary restrictions at once . Great place to grab some coffee and knockout that paper or homework assignment youve been putting off.

In the morning years ago I came upon this cafe when I was visiting a friend who lived in the area. On a trip back to Chicago this weekend, I went out of my way to return and was happy it was still here! All my stress melts away walking in the door.

I was there couple weeks ago and called in a crazy request. I recently had surgery... I called in for a slice of their DELECTABLE carrot cake be brought to me carside while I was parked across the cafe. So accommodating and simply kind people!!!!
