I must admit I havent been here in years, but after the experience I had then, I wouldnt return if you paid me. The service was ATROCIOUS. The waitress charged us for every single little "extra" condiment we asked for without informing us that wed be charged for them! We got chicken fingers and tons of other fried foods, each coming with ketchup & other sauces... when we asked for extra she just gave them to us... Lo & behold when we get the bill, we were charged $1 each for them all, even the KETCHUP! We politely let her know that if you were going to charge someone for more of a condiment that already comes with the meal, it wouldve been nice to have informed us (btw, three of the five of us are/had waitressed, so we werent just talking out of our butts). She had the biggest attitude and said something to the effect of, oh well... We then asked for the manager but he was no better, he had attitude and said something like, if you ask for extra you have to pay for extra. He reluctantly took the extra bogus charges off, but had attitude when he told us he wouldnt do so next time. I let him know, there will NEVER be a next time! Places that treat me like that will never get my money again. The five of us have never been back & we always tell people how bad our experience was! Besides, the food and drinks werent even worth the money!

Went here last night with my boyfriend and best friend. When we walked in the door they checked our IDs then the man at the door basically told us "now go sit down somewhere" we never been there before and it was kinda packed so we didnt really know where to go. Our waiter was a nice guy he was also the one who helped us with seating. we ordered drinks first which took about 25 minutes to come. When we finally ordered the over priced food we waited over 45 minutes to get anything back. When it came it was only my boyfriends food me and my friends came 20 minutes later I asked 3 times for ketchup and mustard which was supposed to already be on the table but I never got it and ended up eating my dry burger and cold fries with out it. The bathrooms are disgusting pee all over the floor and seats and security busted thru the door of the womens bathroom because he said he thought he heard somebody say it was throw up in there. The prices for the food you get is ridiculous a we was given a discount because of how long we waited but it still wasnt worth it. I would never go back at least not to this location. Our waiter was cool tho he tried to handle the situation the best he could. Hate that I wasted money and the only time we got to ourselves after having a baby.

My colleague and I went to this location at lunch. The inside of the restaurant is always extremely cold. So we went outside and it was a chilly summer day in August outside. So we were uncomfortable all together. After an hour of waiting for our food we went inside to ask if we could have it to go. That was when we learned that our order ticket was lost. They also told us they only had one cook and they had about 10 tables to serve. There was a gentlemen at the bar that said he waited about an hour for his meal and agreed that it was freezing in the building. We wondered why our waitress did not tell us our ticket was lost so maybe it was the waitress fault or the cook or everyone. But no one told us what happened until we asked. I was already late for my 1:30pm meeting so the manager had our food prepared and met my coworker at our job to give us our food. My coworkers salad was not good. The fruit was mushy and the dressing was not good as well. Overall, the salad was dissatisfying. Unfortunately, we wont be returning.

Almost eight years ago, a co-worker and I would come over here after work on random occasions just for the turkey burgers. Fast forward to right now and I just moved in the same neighborhood so I figured itd be ok to give it another shot. Its nothing like it use to be, well wait that is not true. The problem is some of it is exactly how it use to be. Meaning the chairs are probably all the same, they are ripped to shreds and there for people to sit on. Im guessing they may have cleaned once since the last time I was there in like 2005. Its just very dark and dingy. I truly do not understand how the ownership would allow this to happen. Hyde Park has little to no establishments for drinking. Bar Louie could make a killing if they were more appealing and clean. I gave it two stars because after coming with neighbors I did have one drink that was good but definitely overpriced. We also shared spinach artichoke dip which was alright but nothing to write home about. This place needs the TV show Restaurant Impossible!

Terrible! First I order a peach sangria which is supposed to come with fruit and garnish in it. They brought me a glass with just the drink then when I asked the "waitress" if they had run out of peaches or garnish she snatched my drink before I even finished my question and went to the bar plopped a single chewed up looking peach slice in it (mind you the drink is supposed to. Come with peach gummies) and walks off. OK so they bring out the sliders they are dried out! I take a bite of the onion ring and lo and behold theres a straight black hair in it and in my damn mouth. My hair is BLONDE AND BLUE THERE IS NO WAY THAT WAS MY HAIR SND MY HAIR IS CURLY! I ask for a manager he isnt even listening to my complaints he just says so you want us to remake it for you? I said no he immediately left the table no apology. Then the waitress walks pass and slammed the bill on the table and kept walking. And you know what? My friend STILL tipped her. Hell naw dont go here. Unless u are sitting at the bar.

I LOVE the experience i have at Bar Louie, the staff is great always with a smile, and food is delicious. I had stop going to the downtown location its closed now thank god it had been 8yrs. but a friend suggested i try this location so i did, and loved it. I drive from Westchester il just for the nachos and slders and drinks OMG the DIVA WOW. I just didnt like the last time i went and sum hood girls were very ignorant, and had to have the police called even after management had helped them this was 8/26-27 at like 12-1. But that didnt stop the staff from doing a great job this one manger i think his name is Frank does wonderfully at making sure everyone is good, I have even come back with FRIENDS. Thats how much i love the experience a 40min drive. I say this to say GREAT JOB, the hood girls that had the police dispatched will not stop me from coming back....

I had one of the worst dining experiences ever this evening at the Hyde Park location. I served tables for 4 years so I know about being in the weeds and busy days: My first complaint is the our server never gave us utensils. Our food order was incomplete, my boyfriend ordered loaded tots which he never received after I asked our server and the manager. No drink refills until we were ready to leave. But the biggest issue was the cockroach crawling on the wall while we attempted to eat our cold food. We attempted to notify a serving passing by and not to cause a scene. He refused to listen to our request and actually said Im really busy right now you should grab your server. We did tell our sever and she grabbed the manager who came by and killed the cockroach and sprayed the wall with cleaner. Oh and he comped our $2 burgers... thanks!
