Preface, Ive eaten Hard Eight in Dallas and know good BBQ when I taste it. I understand Greater Good is in suburban Atlanta and my expectations are appropriately lowered. The food at Greater Good BBQ was edible but did not leave me wanting more. The brisket was dry and the stew forgettable. Mac & cheese was also on the dry side.. with more something it might have been the star on the menu. The collard greens were good as others have noted. When I looked at the menu pricing I expected a large bowl of stew for $4.95. What was brought to the table was around 1/2 cup. I asked if there was a mistake, and the staff said no, thats the normal size. Five dollars for literally a dozen bites (if that) is highway robbery - especially for average tasting stew. When I expressed this concern to staff, they immediately shot back asking if I liked it... as if that justified the insane pricing. The stew should have been around $3 for the quantity served. At the very least the quantity should be included on the menu along with the price so customers can make an informed decision whether to blow five dollars on a "snack" sized portion. In comparison, the small red BBQ stand in the Village gets everything right both in quality and value. I regret the other location was closed today, and I will not be returning to Greater Good BBQ anytime soon.

First time. Cruising down Hwy 29, a little hungry, but unsure for what. Saw the place, on a whim, entered their parking lot. The layout of this place suggests that it is definitely into bar-b-cue, beer, and entertainment, though on a Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. there were only about 20 patrons there. It has a home feel to it that you usually find in small towns. The sign said seat yourself, the service was prompt and friendly, which included a little info about forthcoming live entertaiment in the great room. It also included the best time to get sliced brisket sandwiches, because they were out of that. So, I chose the "wet, hand rubbed, half rack" of baby back ribs, a thick slice of white bread toast, and a side of potatoe salad. The food was served in about 7 minutes. The potatoe salad was conservative, simple, and nice tasting. The ribs were very tasty, and cooked pretty close to "just right" according to my Texas, home grown taste buds. My wife was loving her "melt in your mouth" pulled pork sandwich, my 24 year old son was eating his "brisket chili" while wondering out loud if his friends might like to join him here to eat. Bottom line for all of us? make plans to come back when we are really hungry to try their plate meals. We will be back!

Placed a call-in order today. Its Fathers Day, so I expected the food to take a while; they gave me a 30 minute estimate, but when I got there nobody greeted me. After 5 minutes I was told my order would be "checked on". I was told they were working on it. Meanwhile, they continued taking to-go orders quoting a 25-30 minute wait. Haha. Good luck. They continued seating customers, but the GM told the staff they are not taking anymore orders right now because the kitchen was behind. Ummmm, so why are you seating customers? After another 20 minutes, I returned to the counter where the GM seemed perturbed. If I spoke to customers at my store the way he does, I wouldnt have any left. My fiancée originally wanted to look into them catering our rehearsal dinner but after tonights experience... NO CHANCE. They cant even handle a holiday crowd. The only reason I paid and took my order was because my fiancée truly wanted BBQ for Fathers Day. Food isnt worth it. Not returning.

My wife and I love this place. We have never had trouble getting a table and its been easy to get in and out of with a new baby. There are a ton of different choices that will satisfy pretty much anyone except for a vegetarian! We love the fried pickles/jalapenos, and if you really dont mind a minor heart attack, the fried ribs are incredible. We have tried pretty much all of the meats and they are all very good. Im not always in the mood for sausage as an entree, but their hot links are extremely tasty. Im sure all the sides are good, but my go-to sides are the collard greens (non-vegetarian) and the brisket chili. I havent been to any of the other locations, but if they are anything like this place I feel like this is one of those under-the-radar underrated bbq places that really should be tried.

My wife and I was in Greaterr Good today and had a really bad experience with their service. We enjoy the food most of the time but today the food wasnt an issue . We came in and sat ourselves. Our server was terrible we order our food and he put the order in. Then when the food came we requested plastic utensils . So he brought some and they were not I wrappers so we asked him to bring some that were packaged in plastic. So he took those back and went to the trash can nearest us and slammed them in the trash can as if he was upset about us asking for a different set. So I went up to him and asked him why would he do that. He said "what did I do "? I asked to speak to a manger and the manager defended him . My wife and I left . Be aware of the customer service its not good .

Abysmal.... they didnt even have 2/3ds of the stuff on their menu, and they made us wait 1.5 hours. When the food came out my wifes pork plate was cold, the kids fries were dry husks. People who came in the same time as us finished their meal and left before our food came out, and people who came in after us had their order taken and had their food before our order was even taken. To make things worse, not only did they NOT bring out some bread or french fries or anything to occupy my kids while we waited, they actually refused to do that. Never again - this restaurant sucks. They get one star because google doesnt support zero stars.

I have to say for the only day I didnt do BBQ, and I really wanted some good BBQ. We went there on a Sunday which they rated the best day to go....So Sad!!! I ordered 1/2 Smoked Chicken it looked like a 1/2 of a Chicken Breast, the meat was COLD, NO SMOKE TASTE, and DRY. Sent it back, the next plate was COLD AGAIN, then I changed it to the Brisket.....Wow that was a laugh, it had a Smoke Taste but 3 Little slices w/ 2 sides and a slice of Toast, for $13.00.. my Little 10 yr. Old kid could eat that! I will NEVER IN MY LIFE EAT THERE AGAIN!!!!!

You really dissapointed us Sunday. Asked us to move so you could seat a big party. took forever on drinks- Then took 40 mins to bring food. Then another 10 mins to bring Mac and cheese. You also ran out of Pulled Pork, Beef Briscuit and Chicken. The manager on duty had no idea what to do. Why did you seat a group of 20 after telling us you were out of BBQ? I like to enjoy my meals , not worry about if I am going to even get it! Your owner needs to stay at the resturant!. We will not bother you again....
