Customer Service was 5 stars but food was 3.5 stars. I had the pulled pork dinner. You can tell theyve been doing this for a while based on the way my to-go order was packaged. You can see in my picture that the buns were perfect because they set them in a different area than already on the actual meat; causing them to not be soggy. That made me smile. The green beans had real chunks of ham and the baked beans had tiny amounts of, I believe, both bacon and pulled pork. Here are the less than perfects: 1. Look at how much pulled pork I was given. Its 3 sandwiches worth for a tiny bun. 2. I wasnt a complete fan of the pulled porks toughness; it was stringy and harder to chew than I enjoy. Flavor was mediocre. 3. I chewed on two, stick-like green pieces in my green beans. They were both very hard and didnt belong. Well done on the attention they give to-go orders. From the napkins, extra sauce and the way they pack the food - it was all well planned. Overall, a mediocre place for bbq pulled pork. Ill be back to try something different though.

I wanted smoked meats. I got no smokey flavor in the chopped brisket (not chopped but shredded). No smokey taste in the pulled pork. I really know I can do better in a slow cooker. The rib tips were the only thing gar above room temperature. I think it was because of the sauce in which they were swimming. Mac and cheese had been sitting and was at room temp and cheese was hardly present. I think Kraft actually does it better. The green beans with ham were so overcooked and completely lacked flavor. (Maybe they just sat all day in a warmer) I really went out of my way to find a "mom and pop" place. I truly wanted to like it and was coaxed in by other Yelp reviews. I was really hoping for those crusty smokey bits from that outer crust but they were just not there. I know I will never go back. Youreally better off driving to Smoq just outside of Cincinnati. The building is cute and service is no frills. For that I give you one star. The place has potential. It just lacks good food.

I had one meal here in 2008. Meat was dry, they charged me extra for BBQ sauce that wasnt very good and it did little to compensate for the dryness of the meat. I had someone give me a chicken wing today that came from this place and it really brought back the memory of my other experience. Dry flavorless meat is what to expect if you eat here. I guess you could call it New York style BBQ if you wanted, but I call it garbage. I would not recommend this place. If youre in Dayton and want good BBQ, Fatbacks on Linden ave or Joe Kisss old hickory on Brown St are both good places, fatbacks especially, some of the best BBQ anywhere.

We used SBQ to cater our wedding reception. The place got seriously quiet, I mean you could hear everyone chewing it go that quiet as everyone was eating their food. Then after a bit a wave of compliments swept over the guests and then there was our cake..... Every year my wife and I go back to have their food, it is just that good, we spend our anniversary at SBQ every year. We even take our candle from our table at the reception with us. We go other times too, it just is special on our Anniversary.

We have passed this place a hundred times when venturing out to lunch, we finally had a chance to stop in and check it out. It certainly is not a fancy place, although I am not sure you are looking for fancy when going to some barbecue! I had the sliced brisket, I give it an average rating, not bad by any stretch, but not great either, just somewhere in the middle. The cornbread was my favorite item here, it was WONDERFUL!

Really delicious! The prices are normal to slightly high, but are completely reasonable because they give you A LOT of food! My club sandwich was probably half a pound of meat. The barbeque sauce is great, the pulled pork is great. Everything is smoked, so keep that in mind if youre ordering things youre used to eating non smoked (burgers, etc.)

Ok so honestly the food is amazing and props to the cook for the pulled pork sandwiches they were so good and went amazing with the sweet BBQ sauce. Reason why its being rated 2 stars is the customer service with the Female taking our orders she was very rude and it made eating there uncomfortable.

People were nice but I asked what kind of wood was used to smoke with. The answer I got was "I think hickory" Really? No smoke flavor what so ever with no flavor either! Brisket and pulled pork was watery like it was done in a crock pot. I will not be back with the other 25 people I had lunch with.

Missing the smoke. Some cuts of meat were cooked well but missed the smokey flavor. It was overpowered by sweetness. Needs Less sweet on the pulled pork sandwich. More smoke on the brisket and more smoke on the ribs. Service was great. Sweet tea was spot on.

Absolutely disgusting!!! My mac and cheese was literally SPOILED!! The coleslaw didnt taste bad but it looked like it was 15 days old! And the tips.... they were just edible.I threw the entire meal in the garbage. I would not recommend to anyone!!

They have some pretty decent food here. Its not the best BBQ Ive ever had but it is definitely tasty. The customer service is great and so is the location. The building is nice as well were you can sit by the window while you eat.

It was ok. I wasnt that impressed. Based on the ratings, I thought it would be better. Just plain is all I can say. Brisket, shredded chicken, mashed potatoes, greens, but nothing was a signature flavor other than the bbq sauce.

This place has amazing food. My only gripe is that the pricing needs adjusted. Its more expensive to get a "meal" than to order things individually. Try the smoked burger, its AMAZING...and the made in house pork rinds.

Used to be amazing but in the last year the quality and quantity is dropping fast. Im sure Ive eaten here at least 100 times in the last 5 years but after having now 3 bad experiences in a row I will not go back.

Favorite BBQ place in Dayton. Enjoyable atmosphere, always friendly staff, and good simple food with a large selection of options. Only wish is the sides were made from fresh ingredients instead of canned.

For a tiny, unassuming place on the corner of the Oregon district, the barbecue is undeniable. Service is no-frills, but fast. You wont care once are eating though. The Smokin Burger is a must-try!

I waited at the register for three minutes. No one served me or even spoke with me they just looked at me. In addition to terrible service it is extremely hot inside of their establishment.

Im giving this place1 star just because the service was good. The guy that waited on us was very attentive and friendly. The food was TERRIBLE!!!! Think of cafeteria style eating.

This place has amazing brisket! No frills counter eating or take out. One of my favorite BBQ places in Dayton. Plus youll leave here full without breaking the bank!
