Chow King Grill & Buffet has a new location in Smyrna next to the Best Buy. This location has only been open a couple of weeks which I find is the best time to visit a buffet because it will be clean and the food is usually at its best. I have eaten here twice and I must say it is overwhelming to say the least. There is more food then you will have the opportunity to sample. they have everything from sushi, hibachi, Korean, american, Chinese, Japanese, and a bunch of fruits and desserts. You will see something as plain as Mac and Cheese to baby octopus in the Korean section. The prices are good and right now they are discounting the buffet as part of their grand opening. I did have a co-worker who claimed he got sick after eating the buffet but no one else complained. I think he just went in too hard and tried too many things, or as I told him what were you thinking eating soul food at a Chinese restaurant. Stick to what they know and youll be fine next time. LOL

Dined here for the first time, some 4 months after their opening. Huge selection of Chinese and Japanese foods, including do-it-yourself hot pot and raw items for the chef to grill. Nice sushi bar and enough vegetables and salads that a vegetarian or vegan could dine here. I liked the seaweed salads. Warning: "Kim chi" was actually baby octopus with a bit of kim chi in the mix. Korean selection was a bit small compared to other cuisines. Only Filipino item was fried plantain. Fish was presumably frozen prior to cooking. Taste was fresh, but texture was soft on white fish and flounder. Although the dining area was large, we were seated in a smaller quiet room where conversation was possible without shouting.

Dead average Asian buffet. Sushi (as far as I can tell cooked rather than raw), hibachi grill station, noodle bar, Americanized Chinese dishes, various American and Mexican-American staples (mac and cheese, french fries, sausage, etc), usual assortment of desserts one finds at this type of place, etc. Went on their soft launch day (4/22/17) and it was clear most of the staff was still working out the kinks, so its not fair to evaluate them on this just yet (though one dish - macaroni salad - had gone disgustingly off and really turned my stomach - no response from waitstaff when I informed them). Decor is nicer than Jade Palace across the street but its a toss up as to who has better food.

I was not very impressed by the quality of most of the food, or the cleanliness. The floor was filthy, napkins and food were everywhere on the floor. The table was sticky when we were seated and the plates were dirty. Plates were sticky and greasy. The sesame balls were not cooked in the middle, the fruits did not look and taste fresh, one ice-cream scooper was used for all the flavors of ice-cream, which made all of the flavors mixed up, the noodles were not good and had a bad aftertaste, and the stake was all gristle. The spring rolls, dumplings and frog legs were ok. There were many flaws and nothing was over the top amazing. Needless to say my family and I will not be returning.

This just happened a few minutes ago... The black and green mixture was contained in a mushroom, and had very wired taste (definitely not like tastes of food)...I asked what it was, waiter(tress) were unsure, they took it away without any apology. After a few minutes, the manager came to me, tried convincing me the green part was veggie, and I asked what was the black one, no answer...still, NO apology... Finally, their solution was a discount for my meal... What I REALLY cared about is the food safety!!! But no answers about what they had provided for their customers? And after issue happened, no even one "sorry"? Deeply disappointed, will not go there again.

Generically Good. Sushi is no "wow", all generic rolls, nothing you cant get from a local supermarket. All Chinese dishes tasted good, just enough. I like how the raw bar has the garlic and ginger, so you can add it to your plate for the added flavor I look for in Asian Food. The Hibachi chef over-cooked the meat until tough. Service was friendly on our visit but staff seemed busy with other matters. Its a new restaurant and I can understand. I wish them the best, because my family is local and it would be nice to "brag" about the Asian Buffet up the street!

Glad this opened up, even if they did take the spot my gym used to be in - ironic, I know. But this is definitely better than the other chinese buffets in the area that Ive tried. I usually go to Atlantic Buffet, but now Ill go here. Chow King has an excellent variety with all my personal favorites, but the biggest thing that makes it stand out is that the food is fresh and not too greasy. As an example, the pork dumplings actually have crispy skin rather than soggy and over-fried. Hopefully theyll keep up this level of quality.

Has to be one of the best Chinese buffet in Atlanta. Spare ribs, fried shrimp, crabs and premium Hibachi Grill to name a few things. The environment is a premium experience for casual attire. Reasonable prices and food quality was good even though I didnt like every dish. I recommend that you sample each dish the first time before you fill you plate. Overall a fine dining experience that would impress Chinese buffet diners everywhere.

Great place to go when you cant agree an what to eat. This place has it all. Good selection of typical Chinese food, but also has Korean and southern. Sushi is available but mostly generic with some interesting rolls thrown in the mix. The hot bar lets you assemble a custom made stir fry with a good selection of noodles. Desserts are plentiful, with an ice cream bar, and even individual pops. A chocolate fountain tops it off!

Love it here. And normal grab whats there style, too. Fresh oysters, mussels, clams. Crab. Roast beef, roast pork, pork ribs, every kind of chicken. 4 soups. Various fish and shrimp. Super variety. Crawdads. Fruit and salad bar. Great sushi. Dessert bar. And more. Kim chee. Ice cream. Cake. The most extensive variety of food and decent quality. Lots of space. Clean. New. Cool bathroom. Overall its super!

The best experience at a Chinese buffet in Atlanta. For the selection they have at the low price they charge, it is arguably better than a vegas buffet. They have definitely set a new standard. The hibachi, sushi, desert, and general Chinese food selection is amazing. The place is going to be a new favorite if they keep it up.

Service, environment, food variety were very good. Great food for the price. But some seafood dishes seemed VERY questionable. Smelled bad too. (I understand what buffet seafood is like.) I had one plate of seafood and felt sick the rest of the day.

Good food - Bad service. This is one of the worst customer services I have ever experienced in my life. They asked me to check out while I was chewing my food. I hadnt even finished my current dish yet. We felt like they wanted to get rid of us asap.
