So many things that need to be brought to the attention of someone who will actually care enough to do something , and bring a positive change and breathe new life into this establishment. I will start with the "managers". As a whole, I dont know who in their right mind would ever consider , let alone go through with allowing people like this to be put into management. There are two types of management, those who tell you what to do, and those who teach you . These managers are incredibly unpleasant, unprofessional, uncaring, uninterested. They treat their best employees like dirt and praise the horrible mannered , unprofessional , unworthy employees , who just like themselves do not contribute anything positive to this establishment, like royalty. This place could be incredible, if only it didnt have sorry excuses for managers and their army of favorite sorry employees driving it into the ground. These "managers" literally hide in the office , cuss their employees out like dogs, treat customers like garbage and so much more. It makes me cringe even thinking about it. Terrance is awful. He never takes responsibility for anything, never apologizes, and never tries to make anything better. And this is the GM! Tess has her favorites, as they all do , but it is very clear who hers are, she just makes excuses for everything, she also treats the wrong employees like dirt, and praises the morons. Jazz is literally a human shell of unpleasant. She always has a bad attitude, seems very disinterested in concerns of customers, we as well as anyone else with eyes that has been here, observe her being asked for help , usually simple tasks such as grabbing something from the back so the bartender doesnt have to leave their guests, or helping when there is one, even multiple, bartenders who are extremely busy , with assisting in making drinks, or grabbing alcohol to replace what has run out, even watching her bartenders need help and simply choosing to complain, and/or cuss , walk away, and do nothing. This one has a mouth on her, and such an ugly attitude, which is a shame because she is a beautiful girl on the outside, she just has an ugly inside. Oh and this is the bar manager by the way. And then there is alejando.. not much of a leader, more a follower, always seems like he is in the middle of chaos , even when there is none. These poor employees will continuously have to knock on the office door where multiple if not all 4 managers are hiding behind , just to get ignored, having to repeat this countless times until they get annoyed enough to finally open the door , and give their restaurant, and everyone in it the time of day. The only manager that deserves to be praised is Jody Lynn. She is very attentive, pleasant, hands on, and actually a decent human being. She is helpful with the employees and customers the same. And this poor girl gets ostracized by the other mngrs. And treated like dirt. Do something for the sake of your deserving , hard-working , loyal, employees, as well as your customers, and reputation. I will continuously share this review, whether its ignored, erased, blocked, it doesnt matter. Start an investigation , or Im considering and will likely go through with the attention of media stations, and the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. I may only be one voice, but there are plenty of other horrible reviews to your Lithonia , Ga location. , and one voice can make a huge difference. Help this situation, make it better! I know this is long so I will do my tribute to the few employees who actually deserve it in a second review next.
Visited this location on Thursday, October 6, 2016 around 10 pm. I was with a group of about 15 people we were leaving a church service and staying in the hotels near this location. On previous occasions we know this restaurant is one of few that stay open late. We had some one go ahead of us to reserve tables so that by the time we made it to. The restaurant we could be seated quickly. Once we arrived to Smoky Bones we still had a 15 minute wait to be seated and then they only seated half of our party and came back 20 minutes later and seated the other half, which were seated at a table behind us. The waiter finally came over after about 10 minutes and began taking our drink orders. He finished at one tangle and moved to the next, he took their drink and meal orders and left. The first table waited for him to return so that we could give our food orders. The second table had received their appetizers before the first table was able to give their food orders. The order was finally taken and sent back to the kitchen. There were about 7 women seated at the first table and about 8 men at the second table in our party. The mens table had received not only their appetizers but their main dish order and the women were still waiting on their food. The men ordered a second round of appetizers and received them while the women were still waiting on their food orders o be delivered to the table. Once the food finally came out the ladies asked for to go boxes for their meal because we were ready to leave. Some of the dishes were served cold and some didnt receive an order at all. We asked for the manager several times to come to the table but he refused. Finally i walked over to the bar area and demanded to see the manager. Once he approached me he did so with an attitude. He asked me how could he help me. My simple question was could you explain to me why it has taken almost two hours for us to be served our meal? Then asked what would you like for me to do for you maam, i said that the meals should be paid for by the restaurant and an apology given to the ladies. The manager proceeded to call the waiter and have him take all the food off the table and to get him the receipts. The manager opened all the boxes of food and took his finger and moved the food around in the boxes. When questioned about why he was doing that his rely was, I need to know what food im taking off the ticket. One of the men that was in our party questioned him about why it took so long to #1 get us seated and #2 to receive service. He told him that he was reluctant to seat us because he knew something like this would happen. Asked him to explain what he meant by "something like this would happen" he referenced the meal situation. The service we received from the staff and manager at Smoky Bones at the Lithonia, GA location was deplorable. The service was unacceptable.
Food was AMAZING BUT service was POOR. Today, my boyfriend and I visited the Lithonia, GA location. We were super excited to try this place out for the first time.. Since we drove 2 hours to get there, we didnt mind the 45 min wait. We ordered the Loaded Cheese Fries as an appetizer and I have to admit, its the best loaded fries Ive ever had. I knew right off the bat that I was going to enjoy my entree. I asked the waitress if they had dry ribs. She kindly nodded yes and pointed to one of the rib choices, so of course I chose that because I wanted dry ribs. Once my meal came out, I noticed immediately that the ribs were drowned in sauce.. I asked the waitress if those were her dry ribs.. (I did it politely because who knows.. maybe everyone has different definition of what dry ribs would be?) and she admitted she forgot to tell them to make it dry. I said it was ok and that I wouldnt mind waiting for other ribs. I didnt keep the wrong ribs because I didnt want them to think I was just complaining to get free food.. No, I just wanted what I ordered. Not even 5 mins pass and the waitress comes back out with the ribs.. The same exact ribs with less sauce and more seasoning tossed on top. It literally looked like they just wiped some sauce off and then heated it in the microwave really quick and then gave it back to me. Even the back of the ribs still had the same amount of sauce from the first plate. I know 100% it was the same exact ribs and 100% NOT dry ribs. I was SO disappointed that they would do something like that, as if I wouldnt notice? I wish I had complained to management because I found that very disrespectful. I didnt even bother sending it back to the kitchen because they couldnt even get a simple request right, so i cant imagine what theyd do to my meal after that. Im normally quite understanding and know people make mistakes, but I found what they did completely disrespectful to me as a customer. Its not like I complained and was rude or was asking for something completely crazy. I didnt want to blame the waitress at first.. but she saw what they did.. so why bring it back out to me? She knew it was wrong and literally avoided coming to our table for the next 15-20 mins. Not even once did we get a refill on our drinks. We even had to wait another 10-15 mins after we already packed the ribs that i did not eat to even get our bill... Thanks for ruining my experience... I know you guys are normally good because you had so many customers. The food was also amazing at first. Im just disappointed that your staff wasnt willing to fix a meal that they admitted to messing up. -EDIT- Decided to read reviews AFTER I posted this and Im starting to see a trend in the reviews. I guess Im not the only one that had bad service here. MANAGEMENT- PLEASE look at these reviews and FIX the problem. Thanks..
