I went to the restaurant on a Sunday around 9pm and ordered take out. Parking: This restaurant is in a strip mall so theres ample parking spaces. Just be careful entering as its one way in and another way out. Youve to go around the building to the exit. Neighborhood: As a single female at night it appeared to be a safe enough area and its very close to the I285 highway. Food: I ordered the crispy skin pork in rice which came with steamed white rice, steamed bok choy and a slightly salty sauce that appeared to be the rendering of the juices derived from roasting the pork. If you like subtle flavors youll love this dish. Whilst I enjoyed it, I would have loved for the pork to have some seasoning on it like five spice and the bok choy could have some garlic. It was a little too bland but the sauce they served since it was salty helped add some seasoning to the overall taste. I also ordered the Young Chow fried rice which was tasty and chocked full of various meats, it was lacking salt however but other than that out was quite tasty. I also ordered the squid with ginger scallion sauce. It was served with onions and scallions and ginger in a delicious brown sauce. From the time I ordered the food at the counter and received it, it was about 10th minutes or less. They cooked our food very quickly. The staff was very friendly and polite and were greeting all guests as we entered the establishment. All in all I enjoyed the food here and would return.

We had lunch today with friends and the food was amazing... Service was great - fast - and everything was hot and delicious... My husband had the orange chicken and said it was the BEST he had ever eaten...I had Sweet and Sour Shrimp - with fried rice and egg drop soup... wonderful...other dishes were the Roast pork with Chinese Vegetable and Scallops with mixed vegetables... We sampled a little of each dish and everything was delicious... we had so much food for the five of us and plenty to take home.... We will definitely be back and recommend to others as well...Thank you for a lovely Labor Day Luncheon with new friends...

The staff were very nice, courteous, and spoke very good English(not meant as a slight, or offense in any way!!) The food SUCKED! This was without a doubt the 2nd worst "Mai Fun" I have had any where in the world! I know this dish very well and how it is supposed to be as my first taste of it was cooked by a "Master" from the village in China where it originates. The meal cost a little over $10, and my host are three bites and tossed it mine is in the trash too!! The rice noodles, meat and eggs..., hell the whole meal was over cooked and greasy. This is a place I would take someone I didnt like.

Golden Gate is a great find. They have both the normal Americanized dishes like sweet and sour chicken etc and authentic Chinese dishes. Ingredients can include crispy noodles, bitter melon, and sea cucumber. The service is wonderful with servers remembering you and asking how youve been since theyve seen you. The atmosphere is spartan. Its in an old Wendys so the dining area is small. This is not a first date kind of place, unless you both love good food. This however prefect for suiting the tastes of the cautious eater and the foodie.

My go to Chinese restaurant. I came hereafter haven eaten at WOK in mt.zion. The off menu items are incredible and the standard items such as (general tsos, mongolian beef and so forth are as well.) Its a shame many Chinese restaurants in the area are getting such high reviews when they offer nothing but processed chicken and an extra serving of msg. Try their salt and pepper squid "calamari".

Have never eaten here before until the other day with friends...lived in Forest Park for years and have driven past this place dozens of times and have never stop by...excellent food and service!!! The food was so hot and fresh that I needed to let it cool off! Anytime I want Chinese, this is definitely the spot I will go to.

So i just got the worst. First off i was only 2.2 miles away to be exact, and the driver took over 30 mins getting to me. Secondly my food was cold. Now i understand it getting cold from sitting to long but no my food was frozen. Im not trying to discourage anyone from going there but please check your food before eating.

Food has bad. Ordered the almond chicken. What I received was fried chicken like you get when you order sweet and sour chicken. They put brown gravy on top. There where no almonds no vegetables. The egg roll was nasty. You could tell it was frozen. Fried rice was tasteless. The only good thing was the hot and sour soup.

Great food but the building needs renovating its a little dusty the interior needs up grades. The parking lot was full but not many customers where in there not sure why so many cars but other than that I rate the restaurant a 3 and its been open for more than 10 years and has always served great Chinese Cuisine

The food was so fresh that I cried. Im a big dude and love great food and this was the place to go. I spent $46 dollars for two people but we both got a four to five things each so its very affordable. Watch out for the driving because its tricky to get in but definitely a revisit every weekend.
