The Food Shoppe is a small, family run place. There arent many seats inside and most of the food is served in to-go type containers so, it is a great place to grab lunch and take it with you. This place does seem to run out of menu items frequently so, if theres something youre craving you might want to get there early. The Ooey Gooey Chicken & Mac from here is amazing. Its a magical, black box filled with creamy, spiced mac n cheese, topped with delicious rotisserie style chicken. Im addicted to this stuff. Ive only tried the regular size of this dish, and I always get at least two meals out of that. I cant imagine what the large size must look like. I personally found the bread pudding here to be far too sweet. So sweet that I got sugar burn of the mouth. It would be really nice if it had some kind of non-soggy fruit, like apple or pear in it, to help break up the copious amounts of sugar and sogginess. Overall, I give The Food Shoppe four stars, for their friendly staff, fair price to food amount ratio, and for one of THE BEST mac n cheese dishes Ive ever had!

Ok so the reviewer complaining about the wait and decor is totally his own issue. This is a diner style of restaurant and they tell you from the door that everything is cooked to order. Not just your food, but everyones. Therefore, just like an IHOP, Waffle house, West Egg, etc you have to wait. Now to the food: Both Breakfast and Lunch are awesome! The Jambalaya was excellent with just enough heat, the bread pudding is super sweet but you wont stop eating it. Its that good! The breakfast I just tried today was DELICIOUS! You get more than just the sandwich for $5.00! You get a small fruit salad, a sample of bread pudding and a potato hash medley that is very well seasoned and has shredded meat in it. Its actually an entire meal for $5. Best price and breakfast buy downtown, period.

We stumbled upon this place as a last minute meal before a show at the Tabernacle. I must say I was blown away by the food. The quality was amazing! I will now be going out of my way to eat here again. TRY THE BREAD PUDDING!! We all had the jambalaya and WOW! I come from a Cajun background but this was by far the best Ive ever had. The owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Once we were done eating it was pouring outside. He walked us to the Tabernacle with an umbrella! Talk about customer service! Please do yourself a favor and try this place. Im looking forward to going again real soon

Not only is this place in an excellent location (right down the street from the Tabernacle) but this place also has an abundance of excellent food. The customer service is also excellent, with genuinely friendly staff that love to help you make up your mind by giving samples of any dish you would like to try. Everything I tasted was simply divine. Incredible pastas, jambalaya, and gumbo! And I could never finish typing this without raving wildly about how amazing the Bread Pudding is. I mean.. one of the best things Ive ever tasted in my life. Addicted! Please try it!

Well, I was stuck with my teenager waiting on the @AlessiaCara show at The Tabernacle this week. If youve ever waited in line for a show there you know theres 1) no restrooms close by and 2) no where to eat. Thankfully, I walked one block up Luckie Street and found The Food Shoppe. We bought a couple of Cokes and used their restroom. Then we went back for lunch. SHAZAM! I had the best gumbo I have ever had. My kid had the shrimp and grits and thankfully I got to finish his. It was flat out excellent. Dont be fooled by the decor. The food is outstanding!

Pasta YaYa was amazingly delicious. The perfect heat w/ good amount of shrimp & sausage. Very creamy and generous portion. I got the regular to go and another wouldve ate. The lady ringing me up was very friendly. Told her it was 1st time there nd she helped w/ suggestions. Also gave me a dessert sample in my to-go. Wait was minimal so its a great quick lunch option. The place has 2 4-seater tbls so its a little crammed. But the food is worth it and quality great even for take out. Ample menu of sandwiches, soups etc if you want something lighter too.

This is by far one of the best places to dine in Atlanta. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, the food is out of this world and the prices are fair considering how generous they are with the portions they give you. If you visit here the must trys would be the jambalaya, gumbo, shrimp and grits, chicken mac n cheese, bread pudding and the ooey gooey red velvet cake. Though anything you buy is sure to be phenomenal. They will also will let you sample anything you would like!! Hands down a great place and worth every penny.

Let me say first impressions due speak values but please please please do not go off of your gut instincts to turn around. This is not a visually appealing spot. Its dirty and dingy on the outside but as soon as you see that Smoke stack you know its real. The prices are fair and the amount is good, rib tips and two sides for 12.00. The BBQ sauce is a little greasy/watery but its still good. If your trying to watch your figure stay away but if you just want to pig out on good Ole southern BBQ this is the spot.

My friend Sarah and I visited The Food Shoppe after riding the Skyview Ferris Wheel. Chef Ronald, wifey Angie, Ms. Bridget, and Dasiah were fabulous. We couldnt decide what to choose so Chef Ronald treated us to many samples of Creole and Cajun food dishes. We decided on Mac and cheese sausage and chicken pasta. The portions were so big we took leftovers home. Thank you so much for the Southern kindness shown to us during our visit. We will make another visit and take more friends. Blessings.

Me and my boyfriend wanted something to eat bc we were in the area and we saw that this place had a lot of good reviews and omg i can see why. When we went in we were greeting so quickly and she could tell we were new and offered us some food we might like to try and so we ordered what she offered and when we got our food it was really good! It felt like a home cooked meal and she gave us some samples of a desseret and that was good too. We felt welcomed and i deff would stop by here again.

I stopped at this place with my boyfriend during my recent visit to Atlanta from Philadelphia. I saw the great reviews online and decided I had to stop here since I didnt know if I would ever be visiting Atlanta again. Needless to say we met one of the owners (believe her name was Angie or Angela - sorry if I got that wrong). She was the sweetest woman and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome - true Southern Hospitality. We had the bread pudding and it was delish!!

I am a sucker for "hole in the wall" type restaurants so while I was in town I had to stop by. The staff are some of the nicest folks Ive ever ran across in a local business. The food was out of this world. I got a large pasta dish to share with my wife and it was more than enough food. They do have a couple of tables inside but it is more of a takeout environment. They also serve ice cream. Next time Im in Atlanta I am definitely stopping by!
