Took the fam for brunch this morning. My second visit. Not impressed. Refused to seat early arrivers until I got there, walking several blocks from my parking place. Cold air pointed right at our table every time the door was opened, and there were plenty of empty tables available not in the line of the door draft. Waiter was nice, but nothing to write home about. Very long time to have orders taken. Only one check-back while we were eating. Food good, but meat portions tiny. Table support staff not at all friendly or helpful. To top it off, they take nothing but cash. Not even debit cards. Fortunately, my daughter had been to the bank and loaned me cash so I didnt have to walk down the street to my banks ATM. Over all impression was "we dont really care if you are here or not." Next time we will go to Sweet Melissas.

We were in town for a convention in February 2010 and ate both mornings at the Thumbs Up. They offered a great breakfast special that was a very good value. Service was friendly and fast. We were happy we came early because the place filled up quickly on the weekend. The second morning they apologized because the sausage gravy from the day before hadnt been up to par -- we didnt even notice! I like this place better than the old Crescent Moon because the Thumbs Up food is good country cooking (Crescent Moon tried to hard to be different). One note: Thumbs Up doesnt take credit cards. We saw a couple of people run down the street to the nearest ATM.

The thumbs up on ponce de Leon in Decatur, Ga usually has great service. But today 8/29/15 the service was horrible.. Cant remember the males name but he completely disregarded us when we got to the table.. He dropped off our waters and left.. Only to come back 5 min later for our order.. Then didnt bring our drink orders back to us for another 20 min and that was right before our food came out.. Now mind you ppl that were being just sat got their stuff 2 min later.. I come here all the time and cant believe the service today.. We had to ask for another server! But the food is always awesome.. The service today was not

I have tried this place on/off for the past year. When it is good, the food is delicious and the décor works well. The staff can be friendly and welcoming which creates the diner atmosphere their marketing implies. The problem is inconsistency. I have ordered the same dish four times to varying result: Waffle extra dark Bacon Eggs medium well I have received an undercooked waffle once. Regular once and extra dark twice. My eggs have come out medium well once. Theyve either been completely well done (twice) or nearly over easy once. I would rate five if it werent for inconsistency and cash only.

I went on Saturday based on the feedback my wife gave about the restaurant. The weather that day was beautiful and I actually wished we had ate outside instead of the cramped confines of the interior. I ordered the fried chicken fingers and seasoned fries. Let me say that the plate, as in the literal plate the food came on, was dirty. Next the chicken fingers varied in size from huge to scrawny; there was no uniformity. I lost my appetite when I found several blonde hairs in my food. Let me repeat that: several blonde hairs. This is first and last time going.

Thumbs Up Diner is located at the SE intersection of Commerce Dr and W Ponce de Leon Ave in Decatur, GA. The franchise has various locations throughout the city of Atlanta, GA, so it wouldn’t be difficult to find a location near you no matter where you’re located (within the perimeter). It was a very quaint yet busy place (as diners should be). The food was great and the portions were ridiculous! Same goes for Thumbs Up Diner in East Point! This is primarily for the health conscious consumer. *side bar, probably just dont go to a diner* I got the grilled veggie bagel which would normally be grilled w butter - asked for it toasted without butter (because why butter AND cream cheese?). They were really stingy w the cream cheese, overly generous w the red onion and a mealy, flavorless tomato. The server never bothered to ask how our food was, so I didnt bother to tell him. Maybe this place is great for comfort food or if you dont care about your health.

Service was horrible! I received a cold skillet and the manager didnt do anything to accommodate other than saying "Well they replaced it with a warm one..." The facility heat was broken, it was freezing!..again, the manager said "Tough luck, Im working on getting it fixed so theres nothing I can do about it at the moment" I expressed how I was disappointed in the service, she shrugged her shoulders! So I paid full price and left to go eat the replaced food in my car. No exaggeration!

Thumbs Down for this place. Aside from being a cash-only restaurant and having a limited menu, the pancakes were far too heavy on the vanilla (and tasted worse than any restaurant pancakes I can ever remember having). I added grilled veggies to the breakfast skillet for an extra $1.50 which consisted of 2 pieces of broccoli stalks, 2 slices of mushroom, and several small pieces of red pepper. I would not recommend and will not return. Go elsewhere for breakfast. Anywhere else.

My guy and I used to eat here EVERY weekend (sat AND sun!). The food is simple and nicely priced. Just be careful of the potatoes... One time there was some mystery meat in mine that looked maybe like calamari which I dont recall being on the menu, then another time there was the tip of someones latex glove in my potatoes... Which as our waitress claimed was definitely not on the menu! We have not been back, but others that we introduced to the place still visit occasionally.

The absolute worst service a person could ask for. Not only was the food cold and tasteless, the server had no concern about how I felt as a consumer or just as a person. The place is very out of date I visited due to the great reviews then thought they cant be speaking of this location. Regardless I say spend you money elsewhere THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO BE.

Dirty coffee cups with crumbs around the rim and visible stains of coffee and other food on the side of the cup. Floating particles in my water. Manager was not apologetic, compassionate or discreet. He was very loud which caused other patrons to stare at us. We did not want to cause a scene but he pretty much did. So we left. Not going back..ever!

3 adults and 2 children came for brunch. Two adult orders were messed up (not servers fault), outdoor seating does not benefit from loud traffic on Main Street behind or city center street smells. Ended up dropping $75 on pancakes, waffles and maple syrup... Up charge was crazy, highly unlikely I will be returning!

The food was mediocre. I ordered the chicken, eggs, and waffles. It was very bland. I can make better tasting food at home. Also for almost $12 the portions are despicable. I will not be going back! I have uploaded a pic of the supposed to be chicken strips. The service however, was ok.
