My mother and I went there after the lunch rush so there were only two other people in the whole place. The hostess seated us at a dirty table even though most tables had been cleaned. The server was loud and seemed in a big hurry. I asked if there was any fresh coffee and she seemed unable to answer a direct question. I asked twice for fresh coffee and about two minutes later, she came back with old coffee that was bitter and burned. We split a dessert since the portion was large and the server brought it out on one plate. When I asked her for another plate, she seemed angry and brought us a salad bowl (?) and said they didnt have any more plates!!! When I requested a spoon for the coffee, she wanted to argue about that too, indicating the silverware packet on the table - which had no spoon in it. The server then disappeared, so I had to track the hostess down to tell her the coffee was not fresh. It seems the server was either busy or angry, because she had the hostess bring the second cup a few minutes later, and it was clear that cup was fresh. The server eventually came out to check on us, but wanted to insist that the first cup had been fresh too, even though it seems improbable that she brewed a whole fresh pot in the two minutes it took for her to bring the first cup. She then told us to take our time and stay as long as we wanted but proceeded to pester us at short intervals until we left. I did not expect an adjustment on the check given her attitude about everything else, but it would have been nice if shed at least offered one or apologized. I might add that our server was the assistant manager, according to the hostess. This woman is incredibly rude and seemed unable to process information. We wont be back.

My husband and I stopped in Saturday, Oct. 1, for our first and LAST time! The restaurant was NOT busy.... it was after lunch rush! We had to wait almost 5 minutes to be seated....then, waited and waited and waited for someone to come take our drink order....no one came!! Another party of 4 came in (after we had been sitting for about 8 minutes) and the waitress came right over to take their drink order....(they were across the room so we couldnt flag the waitress down - and besides, our table was probably not that waitresses section!) We probably waited about 10 minutes after being seated for a waitress to come take our drink/food order....they never came and we walked out!! There was NO urgency to anyone who was working....mostly, we just saw employees walking to the kitchen or the bathroom.....they were not interested in "serving" for sure!! We will NOT be back!! Very disappointing....

Heres my review of Hawg Wild posted on TripAdvisor (Under my real name David McLaughlin)... Wow! What an experience! I like to sample local BBQ places in the search for the dining experience that makes me lick my eyebrows. Hawg Wild BBQ had my tongue reachin for the stars! First sight of Hawgs restaurants impressive exterior had me doubting a place looking so clean and manicured could have good BBQ. Boy, was I wrong. Wonderful hushpuppies, generous portions and great tasting food. Did I mention the six, 6, s-i-x, different sauces placed on every table? From sweet to hot, and a mayo based sauce in between, these condiments compliment great food and keeps my tongue working overtime. Courteous staff, from cashier, servers, and those who clean the tables. Make the effort, go out of your way, and bring your friends and family for a great BBQ dining experience!

This BBQ spot is a bit off the beaten track, across from the Home Depot, but it worth seeking out as an alternative to the big chain place right on the main road (U.S. 441.) The decor is country with a dash of shabby chic, and I find it hits the right note for barbecue. It is clean, too. We have eaten here several times when in the Commerce area that is known as "Banks Crossing." Hubby usually gets a pulled pork plate or a sandwich with the same meat, and there are several sauces to enhance the flavor of the tender but lean meat. My usual choice here is the big garden salad, with pulled pork on top. Generally, I cant eat it all, and I have a good appetite. The hush puppy appetizers are cool, too. There is ample parking, the service is generally good, and the prices are in line with other restaurants in the area.

Our family of five spent the day exploring the area around Anna Ruby falls and figured we would eat dinner at a kitschy German Restaurant in the Bavarian Village in Helen, GA. We could not find a place that was open, clean and had even a moderately decent review so we decided to try our luck out on the open road. We were stunned to find the best ribs ever at this brightly light, open & inviting roadside restaurant just outside of Clarkesville, GA. We tried just about all the sides and were thrilled with all of them (cheese grits... wow!). We tried ribs at several other BBQ restaurants on our summer vacation, but none were leaner and had better taste than Hawg Wild.

I took my son there after him winning his custody battle with his daughter 2/20/17. My husband and my son ordered the ribs. They were dry and tough and my son couldnt even eat his food. My husband mentioned it to the waitress who said she would call the manager because she had had that same complaint earlier that day. The manager said she didnt see anyrhing wrong with the food and didnt do anything to compensate the problem. With a 60.00 bill I would have expected a little more. I will never go back and wont be afraid to voice my opinion to others.

The atmosphere was pleasant, by a crackling fire, the waitress was delightful......the food was inedible. I ordered the catfish filets, and they were fair. The sides, sweet potato fries (drenched in sugar and cinnamon) and canned creamed corn were awful. My husband ordered the vegetable plate, he ate nothing. This is our first time eating there since the fire...it will be our last. We visited with several people at the restaurant, no one was local and no one had ever been there before. I hope they read these reviews and improve their product.

Good food crappy service. It took forever for me to get my drinks so dont even get me started on how long it took me to get my drinks. On top of all this they had the nerve to go ahead and add a 20% gratuity to my check! Not 15% which is the normal standard. I understand that I was with a group of 8 plus but still if youre going to add 20% gratuity to my check without my permission then at least make sure I have decent service to along with it.
