UPDATE: gave the place another chance, and was just as disappointed as the first time. 20 beer taps and only 3 Michigan beers? tried a special - a perch sandwich.. this should be a no-brainer, fried perch on a bun doesnt take much to be delicious, but they figured out a way by absolutely smothering it in american cheese. didnt taste any of the dill tartar sauce that was promised. all i could taste was bread and cheese. couldve saved myself some money ($10, for a sandwich and a tiny side of potato salad whose only flavor was dill) and made a grilled cheese at home. service was typically flat - it seems the waitstaff/bartenders are only interested in taking an order, delivering food, and collecting money. they wont be collecting my money anymore. [previous review] have been here twice, sat at the bar both times. first time was decent - had a good burger and sweet potato fries.. nothing special, but a good meal. disappointed that a place would have so many beer taps and waste most of them on crap domestic macro beers. the menu, while not original in any way, had a lot of variety and i looked forward to trying more. second visit - ordered the pulled-pork sandwich, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob (which i was happy to hear was the veggie of the day). once again, the meal was decent but nothing special. the corn, however, was awful. pathetic-looking and with a flat, almost sour flavor. i complained about the corn, and the woman who had just served it to me agreed with me that it didnt look very good -well then why did you just serve it to me? and why didnt you comp one of my beers or discount my meal to make up for it? tip for the staff here - great service can make an otherwise average meal taste great. my meal did not. if you dont think something looks good, dont serve it. if you do, give your customer some consideration. ill give the place one more chance, if only because their menu has more variety than other places downtown, but for food & beer i think ill stick to Penn and Doyles.

Horrible service and rudest manager ever! I booked surprised birthday party March 1 for March 25 and everything was fine, got confirmation, was talking to 3!! different people there since that date, were talking about dropping the cake there till Monday March 20, when they called me and informed me that "reservation was made for March 20 and never for 25 and we dont take reservations for Saturdays" so, they blew me off 5 days before my party! I was mortified and called for the manager, that guy, named Jimmy, lied strait to my face and knows that I know he s not telling the truth. The reason was - basketball game at the ironwood, as I find out later. Then he promised me to moved the party to nearest bar 336 and informed the manager there but NEVER DID IT AS WELL! My father in law got involved and came there just to be sure that 336 bar manager knows about out party, only after tha, we got moved. Ironwood - you sucks, you manager is horrible liar and I hope one day someone gonna kick his ass for such attitude!

Went to Ironwood last week and made the mistake of bringing the kids. I called ahead of time - said I had a party of 8 and asked for reservation. They said no reservation, but wait was 30 minutes. We showed up within 5 minutes, several tables were blocked off for reservations, hmmm. Went to put our name on the list and "very young head hostess" said it would be over an hour. Shorter if we would take "first available" She remembered my call saying it was a 30 minute wait, but too bad, no apology. We hung out for over an hour. Finally a table for 6 in the bar area opened and we just grabbed it. 2 people from our party had to sit in stools along the wall. During the hour we saw many many parties of 4 come in and get seated while we waited. Probably a good place, but the hostess needs to be fired!!!!

My friends and I drive literally 35 minutes away to get the chicken strips from here, they are the best weve ever had. There are two things I dont like though. The first one is that the hostesses, the bartenders, and a few waitresses seem like they think they are royal princesses of Plymouth. Oh my God, I still dont understand how some of them work there...maybe it is required to have a attitude to be hired? Pretty sad. Must be SO HARD to walk around in the AC sitting people down. The second thing is that it is CLEARLY too small. They always squeeze an extra 50 people in the bar area and when its after work hours......dont even bother going unless you want to be around a bunch of 50 year olds who cant stop drinking. Ironwood Grill? Should be named "Middle-Aged Drunken Hangout".

Overall not a bad experience the waitress was nice and very good about checking on my party and I, the food however was not very good. I ordered the BBQ player and was very disappointed and my coworker got the ribs and was also disappointed. The first thing that hit me was that the cornbread they advertise isnt even cornbread its made with cake mix. Im from the south so I definitely know what cornbread is and how it should be made in both the sweat and salty versions and this here is neither. The BBQ was very bland and the baked beans where way to over peppered for you to taste the actual food. Actually the brisket was pretty good the pulled pork and the ribs where not good. Overall very disappointed at the flavors of the BBQ especially for the price.

The hostess and server were very nice and prompt, we didnt have to wait for our drinks or food, the place is in a great location, and really cute. This place was recommended to me by a friend and has good reviews but the food was so bland. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the beef brisket, the meats were dry and flavorless, the cole slaw and potato salad were nothing special, the corn bread needed a lot of butter, it was dry, too, it was all just underwhelming and blah. Im willing to try it again and not have bbq because other reviews said such nice things. I was expected a lot better.

Excellent service always. Friendly staff. Clean. Great location. Food has gone down hill in the past year. Former favorite Cuban sandwich has been downgraded to a marginally glorified ham sandwich. They added an appetizer called "burnt ends" which is maybe the best thing on the menu. Pizza was good the last time I ordered it, but if you want pizza, then you should check out Pizza e Vino just around the corner. Average = 3 stars. Still a good place for drinks in probably the most vibrant small town in metro Detroit.

Last week they stopped serving food at 1010, this week we wait an hour for a pizza when the place is dead as Ive ever seen it. Some chick hanging around the food prep area distracting the food prep crew. The chef could have been trapped in molasses. That being said, our waitress was very nice and did her best, but what is their kitchen doing? Some sloot was playing grab ass with the bouncer all night, I just question their seriousness if this is how they treat a Friday night.
