I wanted to give this place more stars because the staff was super friendly and the atmosphere is great, but unfortunately the food and prices deserve this rating. (For reference - my husband and I are recent college graduates and newlyweds, so were not super picky professional food critics or something. Were just down to earth people who love good BBQ). My husband and I received a coupon in the mail and went here for Valentines Day. We ordered the pretzel bones appetizer, and I was shocked when it came to our table. This place basically serves bowling alley food - you know, the super greasy, swimming-in-nasty butter food you order at a bowling alley - not because it sounds good, but because youre starving and will eat whatever? Thats the appetizers and side dishes at Smokey Bones. Our "queso dip" was butter and a few globs of what looked like cheese, but the greasy butter had separated from the cheese, so it looked so gross. The pretzel bones were incredibly greasy and you only get 4 for $8 - the appetizers are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. We each ordered the Pulled Pork Sammy, and I got loaded fries as a side dish, and my husband got the Mac n cheese. First of all, they charge $4 for these so-called side dishes, so I was expecting them to be pretty great. It was literally bowling alley food again - we only had a couple bites of our sides. The sandwiches were the only edible thing - they werent memorable or super great, but they did have a decent smoky flavor. If we hadnt had a coupon, the meal would have cost between $40-$50, which is ridiculous for the quality of their food. We will never be back.

If I could give this experience less than 1 star, trust me I would. Lets start with the waiter not knowing a thing about the menu or drinks. But I put that behind and figured he was new and still learning and thats ok... first the beer I ordered was very flat. But he brought me a new one which was a lot better. But then we get the food and it looked good but I went to take a bite of the baked beans and they were SCORCHING HOT, so hot the waiter even said he burnt his hand on the rest in the back. He also never apologized for what happened and never told the manager to adjust the price of the meal. I wasnt warned about anything being hot once the plate arrived. So I burn the hell out of my mouth so bad I couldnt finish my meal!! Then I ask to speak with the manager and let me say this guy shouldnt be a manager, there was 0 class with him and he said "theyre always that hot"... and tried to argue with us about it. All in all the food I cant say how good it was seeing as I couldnt eat. But the service is God awful. Buyer beware or whatever just stray away from this place.

First visit and I regret to say it will be the only visit. Monday night and obviously not very busy. Walked in to see 3 people already waiting to be seated sitting on a couch. We were told it would be 45 minutes for a party of 8. Knowing it may be difficult to seat 8 people we agreed to wait even though there was no where for us to sit. After 15 minutes we noticed that the dining room was clearing out and noticed several tables through out the restaurant were empty as well and the party of 3 was still not being seated. Noticed some odd behavior from another guest who seemed to be complaining and finally the party of 3 were called to be seated. The manager was called out to address the guest who was complaining and it became apparent there were issues either in the kitchen or the wait staff. After 45 minutes we decided not to take the chance to be seated and wait even longer for dinner. We over heard the manage say to the hostess to start seating people, but slowly. Not a very good first impression and will not be back.

Used to be my favorite place to eat, with the best ribs. This time, Sunday noon, they had no coffee because they ran out of filters. They had no soup - ran out of that too. The ribs were overdone and tough, and skimped on the barbecue sauce. Fourteen of our friends were told they would have to wait 20 minutes to be seated, when at least 8 tables were empty in our area alone. It was so cold we had to put our coats back on. And they raised their prices recently. Another table of friends of ours felt the same way with their meal. I had a $10.00 off a 25.00 order; our order was 67 cents short of $25.00 because they had no coffer so I did not order a drink. Therefore I had to pay $10.00 extra. I was not a happy camper. The waiter was good, kind, and understanding, and received a good tip for his excellent service.

Went to this place last night and couldnt believe the extremely POOR service. We waited for ever just to get someone to come over to our table. Then after the male bartender (who was serving us) took our order, he proceeded to talk with friends the rest of the night. We waited 45 minutes, our food was sitting in the window and the bartender continued to talk with his friends. He is the most selfish, inconsiderate server I have ever encountered. We decided to get up and leave, he watched us walk out the door, didnt say a word to us, and continued to talk to his friends. I will never go back.

I have to say that I like this place a lot better than Shortys. The pulled pork is good. smoke house burger is great, and the chicken sandwich is the bomb! I am not a huge rib fan so I cant really vote there though everyone else loves them. The sweet potatoe fries are great (ask for the brown sugar sauce!) and they substitute just about anything. The only issue I have had is that some of the staff can be pretty darn slow but even that has improved lately.

AWFUL SERVICE!! My boyfriend and I went during the day and they were NOT BUSY AT ALL! We waited ten minutes as servers were staring at us in the back to be seated. Finally we seated ourselves and the bar and waited another 15 minutes to be acknowledged. Finally, the bartender got us drinks and we ordered an appetizer, she brought those and NEVER came back to take our order. We left and walked over to Cracker Barrel. This place has the WORST service ever!

Smoked wings, pulled pork, sausage, dirty rice, roasted corn, baby back ribs, loaded fries were all homeruns! The meat is smoked until tender and juicy and was so good it didnt need sauce... But the sauce selections are great so we had to enjoy them too. We were just coming back from S. Carolina where mustard barbecue is a standard for the region and is my personal favorite. It is rare to find this far North, so give it a try on pork.

The food was alright, the service was OK, but I think its bath time. Everything was sticky, from the tables to the menus. The tablet that they place on the table had some weird thick grease on it somewhere, I picked it up to move it and it almost felt like salve was on my hand. I had to go wash my hands more than once. The posters on the wall have food stains on them. If this is the dining area what does the kitchen look like?
