We made a reservation for a friends birthday party on a Wednesday night, expecting the restaurant not to be very busy (we were right) and to get good service because of it (we were so wrong). When we read the reviews to plan the party, we were really excited, and we thought that going in the middle of the week would get us the best experience for our friend. We were wrong. Who knows, maybe the weekend has better service or just better servers, but I for one will not be going back to this restaurant. Ive had better experiences buying sushi from the supermarket. It really all comes down to the service. The service sucked. 1. Our drinks were never refilled unless we specifically asked. There was a period where the server had disappeared that we actually had to go refill our own waters, but hey, at least we didnt pay for those. Our friends with sodas had to ask repeatedly for refills because "Oh, Im not even gonna lie. I forgot." 2. There was no table-manicuring. When we finished our appetizers, we actually moved them all to the edge of the table for easy pick-up, and the server chose to instead leave them for the entire meal. The same with empty drinks. There was a freaking graveyard of cocktail glasses, soda glasses, and appetizer dishes that we had to navigate when the food came. Not cool. 3. The food did not come at once. 2 members of our party got their chicken dishes first, and waited for the rest of us to receive their food. 5 minutes later, their food was getting cold and we still had not seen the rest of our food. Then, 2 more dishes come out. By the time the sushi had come to the table for the last guest, the first person to be served was done eating. 4. The food was lackluster. For the prices we paid (alot) and the portion sizes we got (little) I expected at least something good. Those of us who ordered entrees did not finish our plates because they just didnt taste good. Those of us who ordered appetizers left hungry because the timing of the food arriving in the first place was so off we doubted we would get our new orders in a timely manner. We neednt have worried: the server didnt come back to check on us until we were ready for the checks. 5. Now I know Im nit-picking, but the payment process just added insult to injury. For one, the server didnt give us pens with the checks. We should not have to flag you down to write down a tip. For another, dont pull a wad of money out of your pocket and start counting it on the table to give someone change. Take the money away with the credit card checks and come back with change. Have some class and some common sense.

I went to Ra for a dinner party Friday night. the décor of the restaurant was beautiful and the food looked great. My friend ordered the Chile hot wings and after tasting one, I ordered some myself. Once my wings came out, I bit into one wing and my friend bit into another wing and we realized that we received teriyaki wings instead. I sent my wings back and reordered the correct ones. Almost a hour past before my wings came. Can you believe that they reserved me the SAME WINGS that I had sent back a hour ago??? They took one wing off the plate that was bitten into, reheated the wings and reserved them to me a hour later. When I flipped one wing over, the one I had bit into was still on the plate. They deliberately removed one wing (the one facing up), reheated the food and served me 5, not six, wings. This was the most unsanitary, disguising, trifling thing that has ever happened to me. After demanding a manager, one was sent over 30 minutes later. He was very sweet and apologized to us. He took care of our entire bill and put us some fresh wings in. If I was not so hungry, I would have left but I was starving so I ate the new wings, which werent that good because they tasted rushed (probably because the manager knew we waited so long). other than the wing ordeal, our drinks took over 15 minutes to be given to us each time we ordered although the bar was walking distance away. Our waiter sucked. I would never return here due to being tricked into eating old food. WOW! I am still in shock smh.

Really? Say it aint so! As much as I come here, I really havent written a review about Ra sushi? Ive GOT to do better in 2015. Well here we go. This is hands down my FAVORITE sushi spot. Ive been coming here for a couple of years now and I pretty much go at least once a month if not once a week. My favorite server there is Angelina! She is so much fun and she is on top of her game. She always gives great recommendations and she is very attentive and welcoming. Every time I go, I ask for her. My favorite rolls include the Viva Las Vegas, Crunchy Calamari and the Rakin shrimp roll. The first 2 that I mentioned are on the happy hour menu for around $7.50 and $4.50 respectively. Unfortunately we found out the hard way that although the Rakin shrimp roll is amazingly delicious, it costs around $14. Its not the same Rakin shrimp (shrimp only, not the roll) that is on the happy hour menu for like $8. I also enjoy the hot sake! They have different flavors that you can get like Mango, Black Raspberry and I think peach. The edamame is good but I guess you really cant mess that up. The edamame DIP is REALLY tasty. Pretty much every roll I have tried is delicious. They also have a few choices for the non-sushi eaters like wings and other pineapple & cheese wontons. I like eating at the sushi bar because the chefs are really cool. I also enjoy sitting upstairs at the bar when its open. The atmosphere is really cool and often times they have great music playing. I love this spot!

My husband and I ate here after attending jazz night at the High Museum. We both wanted sushi, so, after a brief Google search, decided to stop here. The ambiance was decent, as long as you weren't expecting a strictly restaurant type setting. As soon as we walked in, we could tell it was definitely a "lounge". The music was really loud and the lighting (or lack thereof) was very club-like. The best part about RA Sushi is definitely the service. Our server, Jade (I think that was her name. I could barely hear anything over the music) was more than helpful and very attentive/sweet for it being so late in the evening. I knew the woman had probably already been on her feet running around for 9 hours but you would have never known it from the bubbly attitude. Another waitress who helped bring out our food was the same way. They were both so nice, it made me wonder whether these girls were taking happy pills or sampling one of the delicious signature drinks.
The sushi was great. Delicious, but a tad on the expensive side. The selection is unique and boasts a something for everyone type feel (Want beef in a sushi roll? They got it!).
If you go to RA sushi bar, you'll definitely end up a little lighter in the pocket, but the chic ambiance, delicious food and helpful staff will make this a great place to indulge.
