Kabuki is by far the best sushi, not only in the Dayton Area, but some of the best sushi Ive ever had. The fish is always fresh and perfectly paired within their rolls. You MUST try the Mafi, Dublin and Hot Sex (yes thats the name) just to name a few of my all time favorites. Ive had their Korean dish of the Dol Sot Bibimbop and its amazing. And of course you must start with their spicy vegetable soup and salad. All homemade fresh and Mae even makes her own soy sauce every day which is soooo good. Their other dishes are fabulous as well but Im mainly a sushi person and its just awesome. The service is fantastic. Even when its crazy busy (because its so good) the level of service is superb. Tiffani and Rocko are thee best and you should request them every time cuz they are just great people and very attentive. My husband and I come here often (at least once a week) and the food and service is always consistent. Kabuki is our go-to! Im just sorry we didnt start coming here a few years ago - we totally missed out. Love it!

I have enjoyed this restaurant many times, but unfortunately my last visit completely ruined it for me. I was out with my wife and a friend and we order the calamari as an appetizer and you couldn’t even bite through it, it was so rubbery. For the main course we ordered and assortment of sushi rolls and when I looked down there was a 5 inch hair lying across the top, I waited patiently to send it back, 25 minutes later we got our new plate and we started to dig in. You will never guess want we found……. ANOTHER HAIR not just a little hair the type of hair I jokingly call a short n curly (yes just like the ones you see on public urinals). Needless to say we stopped eating immediately and brought it to the server’s attention and she said o I’m sorry this never happens and brought me my bill. So I spent $60 some dollars to sit there for an hour, not eat anything, and be charge full price. Yes I should have made a fuss but by that point I was done with the whole thing. AT LEAST THE BEER DIDN’T HAVE A HAIR IN IT OR DID IT?

The food is good but overpriced for some menu items, the specialty rolls always seem to have large proportions but I got a volcano roll and it was smaller than what I imagined. The waitress asked us if we wanted miso soup and most of us said no but failed to mention that it also meant we didnt get the salad and she brought one salad for one of us who didnt want anything and soup to others. A little thing to be annoyed about but still. I asked for a box and she said she would bring one but when she came to collect dishes, she forgot so I asked her again and she ignored me. She never brought one and I tried to get her attention so many times but ended up asking one of the chefs for one. She was impatient when taking orders and had a sour face. I appreciate what the chefs do but this employee made the experience a lot less enjoyable.

We recently moved to Centervile and went to Kabuki due to its high rating as "Daytons Best Sushi." To summarize: Slightly overpriced. Average sushi- definitely not the best weve had in the Cincinnati-Dayton area. Cramped spaces, torn seat cushions, an outdated, tacky atmosphere. Service was friendly but not very professional. Totally surprised and not impressed when, upon ordering two sodas, we received two actual 20oz plastic bottles of soda. Displeased with the "hipster" names (Hot Sex Roll?) for sushi especially when Im ordering and there is a table with children next to me. Would I recommend? Probably not. Will I return? Probably not. Will I order takeout? Maybe, as I said the food isnt bad.

This was THE BEST sushi Ive ever had. When we got there, it was small and absolutely packed - which is the sign of an excellent place to eat. Our waitress was quick, friendly, and brilliant. There were four of us and not only did she not have to write our order down, she got everything right and didnt have to ask who ordered what when the food arrived. We didnt have to wait long and the food was delicious. I ordered the Orange Sunshine roll (I think that was the name) and it really was the best sushi Ive ever had. The Monkey Balls were also delicious. The gyoza was interesting. Not what you would expect gyoza to be, but still good. If I could eat here every week, I absolutely would.

Will not go to Kabuki ever again. You need a magnifying glass to find the Tuna or Salmon on top of your Roll. Worst Kani Salad weve ever eaten - so almost 45 minutes later they deliver another Kani Salad to our table (as we are requesting our check so we can leave). Although it looked much nicer - it tasted just as bad! And..... drumroll please.... they charged us for both Kani Salads! We had one bite from the first and took one bite from the second because the owner/manager would not leave us alone until we did. Owner/Manager took my credit card without even showing us our check... Never again!

Kabul is amazing. Been here 20 to 30 time over the past 5 years. Mainly for sushi, but the Korean food is also amazing. Our favorite sushi rolls are hot sex, ninja, mafia, and tuna mania. Buckeye and Centerville are also really good. Both the soups that come with are really good. My favorite is the spicy(think of a Korean vegtable and cabbage based soup), my wife loves the miso. If you are stopping by for lunch go with the bingo box. The Korean bbq and spicy pork are really good. Service is always GREAT. Atmosphere is cool too.

For one Tuna is not supposed to be bright pink. Kabuki used to be a good place to get good fresh fish. I tried it after about six months to give them a try again but was still disappointed. When I get CO infused or dyed tuna that looks bright pink and is offered as fresh tuna that is just not right. So why did I give them 2 stars is because the service (waiter/waitress) is good and not to blame. It was bad that the rice on the nigiri also turned pink. Not a happy customer.

Love this place. We get the specialty rolls (there is a buy 2 get one free deal quite often) and have never been disappointed yet. Weve tried all of them at this point too. With rare exceptions the staff/waiters have been great. One thing to mention is you will come out smelling a bit like deep fried but really its a small price to pay for good food. The seating area is kinda small/cozy but it hasnt been a problem for us (but we tend to eat a bit earlier than most).

They should train their redheaded waitress how to be softer and friendlier. Her stone face and eye rolling really spoiled the whole experience for me. She is the same way to the sushi makers, which looks humiliating. Sushi and soups are really good, but all the rest of the food is plain and tasteless. The waitress got a lot nicer when it came time for tips.
