For dinner, a few of us went over to a new place on Kennedy Blvd in Hyde Park area called The Bungalow. Its a very large Bungalow house built in 1919, they did a great job with an open bar area, and small dining area...very nice, wood floors and brick walls, there are pictures of the old house through the bar area. With flat screen tvs throughout, you can catch any game whether in the bar area or dining area...the crowd is very Hyde Park pretty, there is a front porch as well with some tables. Food was good as well, starting with the Buffalo Chicken Wings, they tasted more like Fried Chicken Wings then Buffalo style....dinners included the Surf and Turf sliders(1 burger, 1 ahi tuna, 1 grouper, and 1 crab cake), when I asked what I could get instead of Fries, the server advised that I could only get fries, even though there are about 6 other sides that you can get with other meals(Asparagus, Grilled Veges, Island Cole Slaw, Mac n Cheese, Yucca Fries and Fries)...I demanded the island cole slaw instead of fries, he said he would see what he could do(I got the cole slaw)...the sliders were good, the burger and crab cake were about the size of a .50 cent piece..tiny, the grouper and tuna were a decent size for sliders....I think they should skip the crab cake and go with the jerk chicken slider instead so you would have two turf and two surf sliders.......we also had the Jerk Chicken sandwich which was said to be ok, and the Ahi Tuna dinner which was said to be excellent, cooked rare and flavorful. The place can get very noisy, there is some music in the bar area...a very nice new addition to Kennedy Blvd.

I recently went to the Bungalow for a friends birthday and had the worst service experience. First of all, it took 5 minutes to be acknowledged at the front door. The hostess was wondering aimlessly throughout the restaurant and once she noticed us at the front door she asked if we needed a table. Once we were sat, it took another 10 minutes before we were given menus (by the busboy). Our servers did not acknowledge us for at least 20 minutes. The food came out in a timely manner and was very good, however, we were given no silverware. It took an additional 5 minutes for the server to bring us some. It took the bartender 20 minutes (no joke we timed it) to make our drink orders. SInce there were only 2 servers on the floor and 2 bartenders we were giving them the benefit of the doubt. However, when the server came over and asked us to cash out because he was getting cut, that all changed. What puzzled me was how the manager just leaned against the wall and did nothing to help out. Towards the end of the night, we would order our drinks as soon as the waiter brought our fresh round. We did this knowing how long it takes to get a drink. The atmosphere is good, there are lots of flat screens TVs, they have great food, a wide selection of liquor, but if good service is what you are looking for DO NOT GO HERE!!

Dog Friendly!!! - I only had appetizers and an adult beverage but it was good. I had the cuban eggrolls and fried deviled eggs. As for the beverage i had a Moscow Mule and they actually had the copper mugs its supposed to be served in. Thats always a nice surprise when an establishment has the proper cups for serving your beverages. And my most favorite is that they are DOG FRIENDLY!! Plenty of patio seating so bringing the pup along is easy. And they have water bowls availabe and keep dog biscuts by the host station to treat your pups. Even better was absolutely no one was scared of my dog. She is a pit mix and we can get some scared reactions. But everyone (servers and customers) all were so loving. Everyone asked to pet her and my girl is such a cuddle bug she was loving every minute of it. They have a dog menu too! And a dog promotion that some of the proceeds go to the Human Society. I look forward to going again and trying an entree next time.

The Bungalow is a Kennedy spot for a laid-back group looking to eat and drink at a slow pace. The focus is a bar and most of its menu is a little more than the average place. Food doesnt come all at once, but the drinks are strong. The restaurants character is more pleasing to the eye than others on the street. Its focus is sports-bar-meets-fusion-indie-restaurant. Despite the foliage blocking the street view, the sound of cars whizzing by does cause distraction. Inside doesnt offer much, so its better to eat outside by the deck. The food still satisfies however. Suggestions from the menu: Buffalo Chicken Dip, Cuban Egg Roll, or Yucca Fries, Mojo Bowl

Please understand this review is only for the dinner staff who worked on May 25, 2016.First time for dinner ,usually go for lunch, and I was VERY DISAPPOINTED.Wait staff was very pleasant and were more than happy to correct the situation.Food was terrible! Crispy chicken sandwich was burnt and I was told that it had to be on a high temperature and thats why it looked burnt. Lunch version of this is always on point.I suggested that the oil hasnt been changed and that is why the sandwich came out that way.If you can train the dinner chef(s) to cook like the lunch chef or change the oil maybe I will revise the review and try the dinner experience again.

We came here in a large party after the Bucs game. Brand new place, so we tried a sample of all the appetizers... the food is great! The mini crab cakes and beer battered Gator bites are something special. I stuck to beer, but they have a great assortment of specialty Martinis and drinks that remind me of Mitchells, and the women said they were tasty. I will definitely go back. Server was a bit slow, but it was a large crowd, and I understand they have been open for less than a month. Give it a try for sure!

Food was really good, but service was questionable. There really was only one other indoor table seated while we were there on a Monday dinner, so Im not sure why our server seemed so rushed and forgetful. We had to ask many times for water refills and rounds of drinks, even though the server stopped by regularly, these things were frequently forgotten. Menu options were cool and everything was delicious, though, so Id definitely go back for a meal, as long as it is a night where I have the time to wait.

This place has a great patio that easily fit our large party. We had some difficulties with service for the first half hour but that was later fixed. The beer selection was non existent but there is a nice list of specialty cocktails. The patio is right next to the street, which isnt great, but the bungalow decor covered it up pretty well. They have some good happy hours, but only for evening, so we didnt check them out. Not my first pick, but Id come here for a patio afternoon

We were looking for a new place to have lunch, with a group from work. The day was nice and we sat outside. The ambience was nice, but the service was slow, especially knowing it was lunchtime. Once we all received the food and everyone had a likewise comment about it being bland or just not tasteful at all, there was nothing special about any of it. We of course didnt say anything, ate and left but probably wont make it a go to place.
