Well since I have not seen any reviews, I decided to contribute since I have already been there a couple of times. If you have not been there before, the restaurant is actually off Bannerman, their address is so confusing. Anyways. Overall I love the place. The food is great and the restaurant is so cute. The service is pretty good and the people there are overall, very friendly. But, I did get quite annoyed with one of the servers because she would forget things frequently, or stand there and watch the television or play around with her co-workers while shes "working", but i guess im just being picky . The place is pretty small compared to some Japanese restaurants here, like Ozaka, so on the couple fridays that ive been there, there was a wait. So I guess if you plan on going there on fridays you would have to be patient. My husband really loved their hibachi, but im more of a sushi person and i love the specialty rolls they provide there, especially the spicy girl roll, or kamikaze. With the amount of food they provide, during dinner, the prices are actually pretty reasonable. I love it ! And i plan to keep going there, since the only other close japanese is sushiliscious, which was pretty disgusting.

Ive eaten at Miyako little more than a handful of times. I have never been disappointed by anything I have had there--usually sushi and, in my opinion, the best miso soup in town. The sushi chefs are friendly (in one instance, I was there with my daughter and was given an on-the-house fruit salad to share with her) and very artistic. The sushi presentation is always a delight and just plain delicious. Another item we like is the lunch bento box: it is a nice assortment of great food for the money. The katsudon was okay, but not for the price. Overall, you need to check this place out! (I enjoy the ambiance too; just love the lavender and wood-paneled ceiling.) When Im in the mood for a peaceful dinner and sushi, Miyako is the answer.

I could not believe how much they restrict their customers choices. I understand all businesses have their stipulations but first of we ordered the combo tempura which says choose two of the following and they then come back to tell us we cannot order two sea foods which isnt stated on the menu and it should be. The waitress didnt know the menu at all and did not now what came with each item as a side. Plus in general the service was very rude. Decent food but I will not come back. The customer isnt always right but I think a waitress could let us know all their stipulations that are not stated on the menu

This restaurant is located in Bannerman Crossing, on the corner of Bannerman and Thomasville Road. The sushi is a very good quality, the service was good, and you can get a meal for two with drinks and dessert for under $50 (tip included.) I did not try the sashimi (this time) but it also looked very good, as well.

We waited for over an hour and did not receive our sushi or hibachi. Then we finally asked if they had made it and they said they were. We asked for everything to be packed to go. They still left off two orders of sushi. I will NOT be back!

Fantastic little Sushi and Hibachi restaurant!! Such a great value and the staff is superior!! Highly recommend this place, especially if youre looking for a nice, quick, fresh and delicious lunch!
