I wish I could give this experience zero stars. I have eaten at Sakegura at least five times this year (my girlfriend and I come for hibachi with family for almost every birthday) and the service has always been subpar (the food usually makes up for the lack in hospitality). Tonight was not the case, however. We were sat at the last table, very close to the kitchen door and "dish pit" area, and were asked, IN PASSING, what wed like to drink by someone who Im not even sure was our server. A different person, a lady who was not in any sort of uniform (maybe owner or manager), brought us our waters and promptly walked away. Ten minutes later, the first person came back to ask if we were ready to order, which of course we were. The soup was hot and came out almost immediately, but it took thirty minutes for our food (a teriyaki chicken bento box) to come out. I would also like to point out that our sushi, three rolls that took the chefs five minutes to make, sat on the glass bar directly in front of us for about twenty minutes before a third person actually brought it to our table. The food was mediocre at best. Our glasses were empty for the entirety of our visit. I am extremely disappointed with what little attention we received and how embarrassing it was to feel like a burden to whoever was supposed to be serving us. As I admit that we look young, my girlfriend and I are in our twenties and are both servers - so maybe we hold restaurants and their waitstaff to a higher standard. We will not be returning anytime soon. *****Tip to management (or whoever actually cares): if youre going to have a table that close to your dirty dish cart, please prohibit your employees from slamming/dropping/tossing their dirty plates in the bus tubs. Its loud and obnoxious, but above all, INCREDIBLY RUDE TO YOUR PATRONS SITTING EIGHT INCHES AWAY.***** Thanks!

I have frequented this restaurant many times over the last several years, but will no longer. I actually had stopped dining there as much after the horrible health inspection score a few years ago, but since this place is convenient and in the area, I occasionally (emphasis on occasionally) will give it a try. But todays experience was horrible. Long time to place order with rude waitress. .50 cent each charges for extra spicy mayo and teriyaki - are you kidding? Just general all-around subpar dining experience. Sake Gura it has declined over the years in every bad way possible - the dining and hibachi rooms are dirty - if you dont believe me, check it out for yourself. The neglect is obvious. And the servers and manager/owner are rude! My family and friends used to laugh about the managers horrible demeanor, but it is no longer funny. I honestly dont see how this place still has so many customers - probably because there arent that many options in the area. However I will dine elsewhere from now on for sure, and even on occasion will not stop here. If this review can deter just one person from eating here - it will have served its purpose!

There is a young girl named Helen that works there and I ordered my food she misheard me and got the order wrong. When I got there the manager behind the sushi bar said he didnt make my shrimp tempura Roll. I showed him my phone call for proof because the order was to go and he said hed tAke care of it. The young girl said I still had to pay when she took over 10 min to even service me . I dont even know where she came from and it was not high volume for the server not to be there when I first walked in. Mind u I had two business partners with me that had never been there and the sushi bar was filthy it was extremely said to the point where we just left . Horrible service horrible manager horrible everything . It may even be rats in the kitchen .

We were seated immediately (7:04pm) at a table for two. It took nearly 35 minutes for our waiter to take our drink orders. Of course by then, we knew what wanted to order so we gave her our orders. Our salad and soup came out first. Then the 1 crab cake appetizer that was slightly over priced ($8). Once we finished that, we sat at our table for another 15 minutes waiting for our food when the waitress asked if we were ready for our check. Of course we werent because we were still waiting for our main course! So yeah...We got our food by 8:01pm. My husband and I are gonna give Sakegura one more shot during a not so busy day but the first impression was not that great. The food was good though.

Between To Go and Dining In, Our family eats here several times a month. Sometimes once a week! We have small children and the manager always greets us with a smile, chats with the little ones and always remembers that we need 2 high chairs for our twin girls. The service is relatively fast for a cook to order restaurant and the hibachi is a family favorite! They always take care to help us guard our twins against their egg allergy and cook the girls rice separately in the kitchen. When we order To Go, we do seem to get a little less food than when we dine in, but its still plenty and just as tasty. Weve always been very pleased with our service!

We have been coming to Sake Guru for years and have celebrated many special occasions there (birthdays, father/daughter dinner dance, prom, etc. ) but lately I have noticed that the dining room is not clean or well maintained: The sushi menus are frayed and brown around the edges; the baseboards are scraped and damaged; the air vents are brown and dusty; and signage is torn. This neglect coupled with several reviews that have said there are roaches make me so sad. Our family has so many special memories here but unless they seriously clean and/or remodel were going to have to find a new special place.

I use to frequent this establishment for the Hibachi but the manager was always slightly rude and short in his mannerism. He over stepped the bounderies after 5 years of call in orders at $50 and table services of $80. I simply inquired if the re corked the wine and he yelled no and told me he was too busy for that kind of request. It was a question that it valid in this state. But to say you are too busy and yell rhis like I was a child was my last level of tolerance of this behavior. I will take my money and business elsewhere for better service.

So yeah, I am regulary in the Snellville area, but usually when I want Japenese food I go to Loganville, so today I decided I would bite the bullet, try a new spot instead of going a little out of my way, BIG MISTAKE !!!! Never will I come back to Sakegura again. The resturant seemed a bit unkept, the service stinks and OH! Because I did not want meet cooked in my rice and it had to be cooked in the kitchen rather than on the hibachi, they charged me an additional $4.00 when rice was included in the price of the habachi

No soup for you! I ordered take out and it came with over an inch of oil at the bottom. I called and spoke to the manager. His response.... This is the way we cook our food and you are no longer welcome to eat here. Ive eaten at this restaurant for over 12 years and this was the first time Ive ever complained about the food. Never going there again if that is how they treat you if you have a problem with the food. I was shocked and angered by his insulting response.
