I am torn about this place its a husband and wife team with a few other family members hanging around at times...when she takes your order its correct and a decent and consistent price if he takes it, the order gets screwed up and its whatever price he comes up with...the kids are starting to take the orders now too and so time will tell I guess...when shes not there I actually hang up the phone so to not get some surprised made up whatever he feels like charging price, Ive actually had him say its thirteen fifty I mean fifteen twenty I mean seventeen seventy three like he was testing how far up Id pay...so thats when I quit ordering with him. One day she told me the $$$ amount on the phone and by the time I got there he had changed it...the food is hot and good but it does have msg my hubby cannot eat it but msg does not bother me so I go ahead and eat it. Their soup is best in town!

Cferris is so wrong. In the hundreds of times Ive ordered from there, they got my order wrong only once. I order from this place once a week. I told them immediately and they put my correct order at high priority. People should never judge any restaurant if they havent tasted the food or asked them to correct a problem. Just take it right back. Its by far in the top 3 Chinese places Ive ever gone to. They ALWAYS have your food done in 10-15 minutes. Sometimes faster. Great people. INCREDIBLE food. Crisp, hot, fresh! You MUST try their sweet tea that they brew. Always clean! I recommend: Sweet Tea Egg rolls Spring rolls Dumplings General Tsos chicken Sweet and Sour chicken Lo Mein White Rice Fried Rice Chicken with mixed vegetables and the list can go on and on!!!!!

This place is really a gem. The vegetables are always fresh and crisp and the food isnt too heavy (even when fried). Plus, I am confident that they have the best garlic sauce in the country. Its slightly sweet with a nice kick at the end. The egg rolls crust is wonderfully flaky. Heck, even the fortune cookies are great (they are kind of vanilla/coconut tasting). Best dishes are anything with garlic sauce, sweet and sour chicken, and lo mein (but anything you get is likely to be really good). I moved away to Tampa in 2006 and I missed this place more than any other restaurant in Tallahassee. Couldnt wait to go back when I got back in to Tallahassee and I am eating it as I am typing this and it is so delicious!

Weve been disappointed in most Chinese food since living in Tallahassee, but this place exceeded our expectations. Yes, its a common store front restaurant, but the food at Empire was not common. We ordered at the counter, which gave us just enough time to hit the wine bar in the plaza for a quick drink. When we got home with our food, we were so impressed! Generous portions, and everything had its distinct taste, unlike a lot of Chinese food spots where every dish tastes the same. Glad we found this place. Well be back for sure.

The food is excellent here. Everything Ive tried has been very tasty. They have never gotten my order wrong, not even once. It might seem like a hole in the wall, but sometimes these places serve the best food. You wont have a great dine-in experience here -- its not a place to enjoy the ambiance, but if you want good Chinese food (and fast), then this is the place. They have a variety of dishes so anyone should be happy.

It will probably taste pretty good if youve never had the pleasure of enjoying REAL Chinese food, but if you you are from the area or some other podunk town without any access to Asian culture- it will be PHENOMENAL for you. Not so much for me... Ill take my own cooking over this..Can we have just 3 out of the million California Chinese restaurants here, please? Tallahassee is not for Asians apparently.

This is the second time I ordered take-out from this restaurant. And each time I ordered 2 shrimp rolls with our meal. But, they only gave me one shrimp roll with my first order and I didnt bother complaining about it. But, they did it again! Im beginning to think that they do this deliberately. Terrible service negates anything good about the food. I wont order from them anymore...

Horrible customer service. The lady told me one price but charged my card another "minimum" price that was on this small sign. Instead of just informing me and letting me see if there was something else, she tells me I can get my money back. So I did. Rude people… I work too hard for my money to give it to someone else for their rudeness.

I had the bourbon chicken and it was amazing! The only thing I didnt like is there was what appeared to be lettuce and carrots. Which I could have lived without. I also had the chicken lo mein. That I did not enjoy as much. The chicken was a little weirdly textured. But the bourbon chicken! So good!

The food was ok but the service stink. Went in at 10:15 pm and the informed me that they were closing in 5 minutes so we had to eat in the car. They stayed open till well after 11pm there posted closing time. They also over charged for what we got, $30 for a meal that should have only cost $ 22.

The best Chinese food in Tallahassee. Ive eaten there many times with my friends and I am a very loyal customer to this establishment. Their very honest and also family owned and I can definitely tell you that your are eating real chicken!!!! They are always fresh!!! Love it !!!!

This is the best Chinese food Ive eaten in Tallahassee. It is done right, and in large portions. I love their fried shrimp appetizer, spring rolls, and crab rangoon. Thats just the begining because Ive liked every entree Ive ordered here. Enjoy.
