On August, 8th 2017 myself and a good friend of mine decided to finally have lunch at the sarasota Yummy house location. I had been wanting to go there for quite some time because of all the good reviews I had read online. The hostess was very nice and seated us right away. And then a server came to take our order. I ordered the BBQ pork fried rice which is supposed to have BBQ pork, green onions, cilantro, scrambled eggs, and jasmine rice. I also ordered the Shanghai dumplings off of the dim sum menu and my friend ordered the beef and Chinese broccoli with a side of white rice. Our food arrived in a timely manner but I started to notice that it was extremely hot almost as if the AC was off and also there were a lot of flies flying around landing on our food. Our server never once came back to check on us to see how our food was or if we needed anything and because of this we were constantly having to look around and attempt to flag down a server. I ate a few of the dumplings and they were very good and my friend said his beef with Chinese broccoli was also very good. I ended up getting a call from my husband who needed my help and I had to have my BBQ pork fried rice boxed up to go. Later on that afternoon when I finally sat down to eat it I took a few bites and realized that it was missing a lot. The BBQ pork fried rice I was given was literally just BBQ pork and rice.... No scrambled eggs, no green onion, and no cilantro. I was very dissapointed. So I tried calling down to the restaurant to speak with a manager to have my food remade but after calling 6 times and not getting anyone on the phone I decided to drive all the way back down there. I live in Nokomis so its a 30 minute drive each way. I got all the way there and they were closed during normal business hours I might add. So I waited until the next day and tried calling again and this time I was finally able to speak to a manager named Jerry who offered to refund me my money. I told him that this wouldnt be necessary and asked him if they could just remake the BBQ pork fried rice for me but this time make sure to add all of the ingredients. He said that would be fine and he said he would take down my information and I could come by anytime and they would remake it for me. It was currently 1:00 pm and they are supposed to be open until 2:30 pm and then they close and reopen again for dinner at 5 pm. So I asked if they could go ahead and make it for me now but he said that they were closed because they had an emergency in the kitchen. He said the same thing had happened yesterday which was why they were closed when I came to return the food. He said that they were going to try to get someone to come fix it right away and if they could get it fixed they would be open for dinner otherwise they would be closed until they got it fixed. So all in all I wont lie the food was really good, but unfortunately the servers need to be more attentive and check up on their customers regularly so that we dont have to try to flag down waiters all the time instead we could enjoy our food. Also they really need to turn up their AC, cause we were honestly sweating during our meal. And they definitely need to get rid of the flies!!! If they made these few small changes I think they would have many more happy customers. Because even the people who gave them 4 and 5 stars were saying that although the food is great the service is just so so..... UPDATE: 08/09/2017 I went back and they remade the BBQ pork fried rice for me at no charge. This time it was made properly and I will admit that it was excellent but unfortunately I still cant give them more than 3 stars due to the excess amount of flies inside the restaurant landing all over peoples food, the fact that its really really hot inside the restaurant, and the fact that the servers never checked on us when we dined in. They need to work on their customer service and get rid of the flies, and turn up the AC....

Yummies is completely authentic which is why they have already expanded to four cities in Florida. They have even lowered their lunch prices recently something Ive never seen with a popular restaurant. Each dish is made to order and there is no day-old rice coming at you. Everything is spicy for the most part and you can only believe that is the way its served in China. I dont experience any concessions to American taste. The the servants are quick and most times I understand them. But the restaurant comes with some sort of regional preference for serving Style, which disturbs the flow of meals. Disturbs? For a group of people they will bring out each order separately as it is cooked and who knows what choices are being made in the back of the kitchen? If youre comfortable sharing food and eating selections as they arrive communally you are being Chinese and having a great time. If you are an American individualist who doesnt want anybody touching your sweet and sour pork, youre in trouble especially if you get served last. Now to get rough on them because they never listen to me when I point it out but, the wait staff work as a team. One will take the order, another will deliver it and the rest will sort of just be there in the restaurant but they dont look like they belong to you or you belong to them, which is true. When you want more water or chopsticks you have to grab whoever is grabbable. They are great Waiters just not attached to any western-style of service. I have great fun with them. This sounds like a crazy complaint but my friends say the portions are too big. If you really love Chinese food go there in the evening and order from the ala carte menu. Those who experiment will save themselves $5,000 on a tour of China this summer.

There is basically no parking. The exterior is filthy. Trash all over in what they consider a parking area. Kids menu??? So ordered some dim sum dishes my child and I might like. Ordered four things, waiter came back twice, because two were unavailable. Really. At one point a waitress brought us a big order of dim sum that wasnt ours. Finally we got ours. Well, it was all nasty. Like eating 10 lbs. of sugar with each bite. If it was deep fried the greese coated everything. My child ate it, but could tell and was told later she really didnt like it. My husbands noodles were flavorless. Tried a bite of sesame chicken. Ive had better at cheap takeout places. Our waiter was nice, friendly and helpful. In the end our group ordered six dim sum dishes and only got five. Bill showed six. We tried to explain it to our waiter, but the waitress that brought us the wrong order tried to tell him we got it in that order she took back. She was being very rude and pushy to him and my husband while they were trying to figure it out. Really lady. Finally our waiter was so frustrated and confused he came around to me, while the waitress kept arguing, to get it figured out. Yup, wont be back.
