Good food, good prices, but the staff are nearly impossible to understand and the delivery time is unbelievable. Was placed on hold twice then disconnected without being told how long to expect the food. Ordered at 7:30, called back and told 40 minutes, well its now 8:40 and still no food. Called back and told 10 more minutes. When did an hour and 20 minutes become an acceptable time for a $13 order that is 2 miles away from the restaurant? Update: after I called to see how much longer (after 1:10 of waiting) they said 10 more minutes and I told them we would no longer be ordering from them. They clearly didnt understand a word I said, because after 20 minutes of waiting, I called again and they told me that I had told them to cancel the order, which I hadnt. So an hour and a half later, Ive been waiting for food that was never coming at all. HORRIBLE service! Hire someone that can speak English! If you want good food in a timely manner, order from China Wok instead.

Best place to get Beef and Broccoli and their chicken wings are the best in Tampa Bay! This place is vastly underrated and reminds me of a chinese food store in Savannah where I grew up!! I tried different places around Dale Mabry Hwy. and the 3 best tasting Chinese food places from 3 to 1 are China 1 in 3rd place, then Top China in 2nd place, and New China(Gandy) is the winner! I based this off my taste tests of Beef and Broccoli. China 1 s was tougher, Top China is soft and chewy(a bit to soft for me but still recommend there), New Chinas was a perfect balance of both of the former! The negative review below mine are not reputable and I have been going here for years! The lady who is on the register is nice and friendly! If you have to write a negative review to pump business to another store, do the loving people a favor and just dont post!

Today was my second time going to new china although I dont typically eat chinese. My first experience was awesome, but today (5/20/12) I found a cotton swab (YES a Q-tip) inside my shrimp lo mein. I was so upset because this was my first experience finding an object other than hair in my food. I went back and got my money back. They apologized but was laughing because they thought it was funny. The guy was yelling something but I left because I was still in disbelief. I attempted to upload a pic of my food on this site but is currently under review.

I did like this restaurant, and have had my lunches delivered for years. Im giving this company 1 star only because I wanted an order delivered to my work, but did not meet the delivery requirement by 4 dollars. I offered to pay the extra four dollars plus tip just to bring me my lunch. They refused and told me to order more food even when I did not want more, and offered to give them more money than i ordered in food. So like i said, not smart.

I love this restaurant. We get it delivered through a delivery service and I really think it is the best take out Chinese in the area. The delivery service tries to substitute other chinese that is closer thinking we wont notice and nothing compares to this place on Gandy. I just really like the flavor (not just salt, but ginger and herbs too!), and the beef isnt "spongy". Yummy food for a good price!

If you want chinese food, in south tampa, this is the place to go to I guess. They are hard to understand on the phone, but then again consider the source. You can be just as rough on the phone as they are with you and they dont care. One of their family members will coming running out to you with your food.. even in the rain! One of them is pretty cute too, from what ive seen so far.

Just average. And to the above review.... your parents didnt feed you on Christmas Eve? Ouch. No wonder the food tasted bad. It would take a lot to get that other bad taste out of your mouth. The take out tasted like every other take out Ive had from PA, NJ, SC to FL. Gandy Dragon was the best but I beleive they are now out of business for reasons Id rather not thinking about.

These are the filthy people on the news 1/7/15. They sun thaw frozen fish filet in the alley next to trash hanging from utility meters and dirty mop buckets. When confronted by the news reporter it was found that they did not have accessible wash stations for the kitchen help. Enjoy ;)

I have been coming here for years. Love the way you can order your schechaun beef with the veggies you want and the spiciness you desire. Very good. Beef is tender and while they do not speak English fluently, the "owners" are the ones that do the cooking. Love this place.

I have been visiting this chinese restaurant since 2004, and it has always been my hot spot for comfort food. They seem to keep the same chefs employed, which keeps the recipes consistently tasting great, and they are very friendly, fast, and accurate when taking my order.

We are a military family living on the base. There are a few Chinese places in the area, and a few closer to base. We have tried them all but have stuck with New China. They are friendly and the food is the best we have found in this area.

This is where you want to go if you want you and your whole family to have explosive diarrhea. We ordered different stuff and were all righting over the bathroom. we think it might have just been to greasy. GL if you eat there.

MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE LIVED DOWN HERE FOR 4 YEARS AND THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE IN SOUTH TAMPA THE FOOD IS GOOD. PLUS, WE LOVE THERE LUNCH SPECIAL. WE EAT THERE ONCE A WEEK BETWEEN WORK AND SONS BASEBALL PRACTICE.

Best Chinese in the area IMO. I usually call in ahead of time and in 10 minutes, its ready to pick up. Large servings you can get at least 2 meals out of.
