I gave Joto two stars because I actually didnt really have a problem with it. The food was decent. I definitely have had better hibachi, but it was fine. The cook had no sense of humor/personality, but the entertainment doesnt ever really make or break my hibachi experience. We were seated with a group of people (of whom we had never met before). Two of the people had never been to a hibachi before. The girl was allergic to shellfish and told the server this immediately and asked for hers to be cooked separately. The server took her plate and said that they would cook hers in the back. She received her plate of food after we were all almost done. She didnt even have rice! They brought her white rice, when she politely asked her to have fried rice. They complied and brought her out the TINIEST bowl of fried rice, even though you normally get a larger portion if you are sitting at the hibachi getting the rice divied up among the table. She took two bites of her chicken and happened across an undercooked piece and spit it into her napkin. Extremely grossed out, she did not continue eating, and just ate her small bowl of rice. She was very quiet and polite about it, just whispering to her boyfriend what had happened. Her boyfriend told the manager that her food was undercooked. At this point, everyone was finished with their meal because she had received hers so much later anyways. The server was apologetic and told the cooks/manager. The server came back out to grab her plate. At this time, I whispered to my boyfriend, "Wow, I think they took her plate in the back to inspect it." He thought I was crazy and said, "No, they took her plate because she was done with it." Sure enough, the manager came back and proceeded to tell her that her chicken was cooked all the way through as they checked each piece individually. She was a quiet and shy girl, but her boyfriend spoke up for her and told the woman that there was a raw piece of chicken in her napkin because she spit it out. The manager took the napkin and started pulling the piece of chicken apart AT THE TABLE ( yes the same chewed up piece of chicken the girl spit out in her napkin). I literally cant make this up people. I was not emotionally attached to the situation, because I had never met these people, but if that were me, there is no way I would pay for that meal. The manager back out and said, "That is just how we cook our chicken, if you want it cooked more, you have to ask. Im sorry, though and will give you $2.00 off your meal or I can have the cook make you half an order of chicken. Instead of offering to replace her now contaminated plate of raw chicken, they offered to give her HALF and order of just the chicken. WHAT!? Her alternative was TWO DOLLARS. Off a meal she didnt even touch. These people were NOT just looking for a free meal. She paid $20 for a half a cup of rice. (oh $18, my bad, they gave her a $2 discount after she politely declined their chicken offer as she was already grossed out) We tipped the server because it was NOT her fault, and again this experience wasnt directly affecting my party, but I told the other couple that I would not blame them for refusing to tip. Although it wasnt the servers fault, the management of that establishment is completely at fault and unfortunately sometimes that trickles down to other parties associated. I will not come back to this restaurant. There are plenty more hibachi restaurants that value the health and safety of their customers, and believe them when something is wrong with their meal.

I have been going to jotos all my life for family birthdays every year and decided to take my girlfriend there for her 30th birthday food was good, cook not so good sense of humor and let me begin to tell you about our server , we were sat with 3 other people (very nice) & they were ordering when we got sat as soon as she was done taking there order she said ready? I asked for a few minutes and a sushi menu and she flat out told me hurry , im a server myself an would never tell a table they need to hurry , she was very rude from the moment we sat down , she would stand at my shoulder since i was on the end literally waiting for me to finish a plate and immediately take it out of my hand had to ask for more drinks ask for alot of things , so the end of the service came and she was still being very rude , attitude about getting a box to take home , so we asked for a a box and the bill , i was getting frustrated being a server myself so i was ready to just pay and leave , well when the bill came and i base my tip of service and attitude and other things so i decided she didnt deserve a tip with how rude she was , i have never wanted to leave a place fast enough , i signed the slip and left , well almost to the door i hear excuse me with an attitude and a tapping on my shoulder and its the waitress DEMANDING a tip , saying i must leave a tip its the law , excuse me ??!! So i took the slip back to the table as she is following me set it back down and turned to leave as she is blocking the walkway saying no must leave tip or call cops , so i told her to call the cops and we will see how that goes its not like i didnt pay for the meal , i have a right to tip or not and i decided not too due to poor service and rudeness and after that whole inciendt i will NEVER go back and ive been going for almost 26 years !!! Worst experience ever !!!!

I went to this place over the weekend and boy was this the worst experience. when I first walk in the place smelt like old carpet(dirty restaurant) that was the first bad thing i noticed. So i said i will give them a try anyway. I went over to the bar the bartender was very pleasant. So we were seated to our table, and thats when the terrible service started. the cook was preparing the food and he was not very nice when he first went through with going through the order. so I kind of brushed it off. so he went on to cooking the food and begin mixing the mushrooms with the steak to make it look like there was more steak but Im allergic to mushrooms so i told him that i could not eat them. he told me that its was my business and then he still proceeded to put them on my tray and I said i would never come back and he said so dont ever come back, He did not care. They actually tried to make me pay for it when I never even touched it. the cook was really nasty and to top it off they really did not care about making the customer feel welcomed. from the front door attendant to the cook they all were very rude and obnoxious. I knew once a guy I knew told me he found a roach in his glass never to go there i should have listen. next time i will go to Kumos. at least the cooks, waiters, and the person who seats you have better manners. I hate bad service because i feel that courtesy should be part of anyones job. AND ALSO THEY NEED TO RENOVATE AND CLEAN THE PLACE. A RESTAURANT SHOULD NEVER LOOK AND SMELL THE WAY JOTOS DID.
