I have lived in Japan and I like to think I have had as good of sushi as you can get. I love this place for a few reasons. I like traditional sushi more than I like Americanized sushi ( rolls) . I like the fact I can get the selections of fish I like. If I go to a place like Daruma or Pacific Rim I end up having to get the sampler which is not usually the selection I want to be eating. ( However it is the only way to be economical in a place like that unless you come from money.) Although Ichibans ambiance is not as great as other places, the quality of the fish is pretty good and comparable to most other places in the area. I also like that you dont get as much rice with your sushi ( which means I actually get full from the fish and not as much on the rice. My GF who is not a sushi eater is also able to enjoy her Chinese food meals at the restaurant. They actually make some good Chinese food dishes that are better than most of the Chinese in the area which is kind of sad. This is my two cents for what it is worth.

I have been going to Ichiban since it opened in 1994. The sushi is beyond great with hardly a wait after you order. This is not a buffet as it is made to order to ensure it is the freshest! After you go there a few times you will get to know the owner, Tony & his staff who make you feel like family. We spend Christmas Eve at Ichiban every year as my family is very small & Tony is the closet we have to family. I read your review Mr. Winman. It is interesting that EVERY ticket on suchi orders goes into great detail what your going to pay for leftover sushi. If your friend had just eaten as you suggest, why on earth did you make her a plate of sushi? My son loves Ichiban sushi so much he started a group on Facebook! Ichibans loss of you & your three friends will quickly be replaced by new customers!

My husband and I came about 30 minutes before closing for some quick sushi. They were very accommodating and took our orders even after the restaurant closed. Very clean and neat place. They have two aquariums that steal your attention with the beautiful coral reefs and fish! The design is very modern. Onto the sushi- definitely very tasty! We had the Alaskan roll, spicy salmon roll and Nathans roll. The first two are raw and Nathans is tempura. They have all-you-can-eat sushi and cooked food for around $23 a person, however if you leave sushi or rice on your plate you will be charged for it per piece. No sharing is allowed with the all-you-can-eat. They serve beer, wine and sake. Service was good, chefs and servers very polite. Awesome place and great deal!

Decided on a whim to go out for some sushi and ended up at Ichiban. We showed up with less than 30 minutes before closing time. Our waiter, Jack, was excellent. He was prompt, courteous, and an overall joy. He offered some suggestions for us and we did not go wrong! The food was equally as good. We ordered so much food and every bite was AMAZING! It was made fresh as we ordered it, and there was plenty. They had the basic California roll (which was really good) all the way up to Pacific cobia. I believe they had over 50 types of rolls to choose from. The price was very easy on the pocket book as well. Bottom line, if you are looking for a great restaurant with fantastic service that wont cause you to go broke, I highly recommend Ichiban.

The best value for Japanese anywhere. Wonderful food, Great Service and a $20 all you can eat Sushi, Sashimi, Teriyaki and Tempura special with loads of items to select from! Fish is always fresh and tasty. Heres a Tip: If your thing is Shrimp Tempura, get the Shrimp Tempura appetizer as they use different batter on that one (as compared to the still good all you can eat version). The shrimp tempura appetizer is out of this world and the best shrimp tempura I have ever tried ! The only suggestion I have for them is to play Japanese music. Still this is our favorite "go-to" restaurant and merits 5 fantastic stars !

Awesome sushi spot and they deliver lunch in the neighborhood now too! The service is always fast and friendly, and the owner Tony takes the time to get to know his customers also, (Something lost nowadays most places). He always greets me by name and has yet to make me a meal I wasnt extremely happy eating.. They also offer all you can eat sushi for a very reasonable price considering the quality. Great local spot owned and ran by genuinely good people. Dont miss out and not at least try a meal here, you wont be disappointed..

Whenever I go to Ichiban, I do the $20 all you can eat sushi deal. However, if youre paying by card and not by cash, your total will be a few dollars more. More often than not, the food is amazing. I have had a couple of instances during which some of the fish was fatty, but thats to be somewhat expected at a restaurant that features an all-you-can-eat portion of the menu. Only once or twice has the service has been less than stellar, and that was on busy nights. The selection for the all you can eat menu is pretty sizable.

I used to love this place. But Ive noticed the last few times Ive been to this restaurant the rolls have gotten so small (maybe because they dont put all the ingredients/fillings in them the menu says they contain... Ive noticed that too.. Rolls are always missing a few things). This place used to be amazingNot anymore! Ill be going to Ginza from now on. Their rolls are pretty generous in size and they contain everything the menu advertises they do.

The all-you-can-eat deal is a pretty good value if youre a person like me who loves many different types of sushi but cant afford to order by the roll. The chefs are all really nice folks and are willing to make just about any roll on the menu with the deal. The quality of individual rolls varies dramatically, with the tempura shrimp being particularly disappointing, but the variety of rolls and sashimi should mean that you can find what you enjoy.

This is an amazing sushi bar! One tiny glitch... with the $20 all you can eat sushi if you have any left overs its an additional $1 something per PIECE. But its awesome if you dont care about left overs and want to try different kinds and not break your wallet. It is well made sushi and very good. If your not a sushi fan they have many other japanese options. Definately will Be on the restaurant list for when I vaca here again.

The best feature is all you can eat buffet that is brought to your table . No trudging along behind others with food that has been sitting a while. Everything is prepared fresh and brought to your table fresh made. Thumbs Up!!!
