It seemed friendly at first, that is until I ordered the sushi dinner. It was supposed to come with 6 pieces of sushi. I asked not to include anything challenging, such as squid or sea urchin, and like any other sushi restaurant the waitress said of course. Much to my surprise, I received my sushi and one of the pieces was egg. Ive never been served that, its always fish. I asked for a piece of fish instead, and they wanted to charge me extra! The chef yelled that its is "Chefs choice, my choice, not yours". I said what about making the customer happy and that other sushi restaurants never give egg on a sushi combo. He said, "then go to those other restaurants. I can give you chewy or challenging or egg, its my choice." Over a $2.00 piece of fish, he lost customers. If they are trying to scam you by giving egg instead of fish, you must wonder where else they are trying to cut corners! I took his advice and went elsewhere!!

Greeted with a cheerful welcoming "Hello" from the chef behind the Sushi bar. This Sushi restaurant is a gem in the rough, a plaza otherwise innocuous, hosts by far the best value for Sushi in Broward County. The decor is mediocre, although not offensively tacky just what you expect from your typical Asian restaurant in South Florida. What it lacks in decor it more than makes up for in value. The Sushi is phenomenal, the service is great. I drink water like a whale and I hardly had to wait for my water to be refilled. Ive gone twice to this restaurant and each time ate different entrees. The dinner combinations are a great value, the Sushi/Sashimi for one is filling and delightfully decorated. The taste is out of this world and portions generous. I truly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in Sushi and lives within driving distance.

Rare place offers somewhat authentic hidden Japanese menu. I initially thought great find but that impression didnt last too long. I tired several dishes of those hidden Japanese menu items but I should say those are way over priced. For those price, they should do much better job actually offering real professional cooking. Other regular Americanized dishes including sushi are okay for south Florida standard. If you really want good sushi, go to California. You cannot beat their freshness. Its an okay place nothing extraordinary. What disappointed me the most is the waiting stuff. I visited months ago but while Chinese lady was kind enough, one of the Japanese lady just didnt know or doesnt care how to face the customer, keep chatting worthless conversation loudly. Manager is nice but chaotic place without her. I dont plan to go back.

First time there and not happy,. 1.sushi not good presence, they used a plastic dish and a different dish for my hubby. Didnt seem fitting. 2. Seemed rushed when we werent even done, a guy was going around picking up plates like they ran out and almost took my husbands which had one roll still on it. 3. Change the carpet! ,it smells damp in there. People walk around, Drip food or drinks. Weathered down, dirty shoes...etc and carpet in the small restaurant makes it smell!!! definitely needs updates (constructive criticism)

I ate here for the first time and was really impressed. The restaurant doesnt look like much from the front but its clean inside, the staff is exceptionally friendly, and out food was fresh tasty. There was a lot to choose from and there was a large selection of unique house rolls. My dinner companion and I shared the panther roll, flamingo roll, and some friend vegetables (plus two drinks for a total of $30, not bad). I will definitely be coming back frequently.

By far the best Japanese restaurant I have ever been to! Nothing compares to what Toshi (the owner) serves. I have never had a bad experience here. My family and I come here at least 2 times a week. Not too expensive at all. Lunch menu is the best and so stinking cheap! The only reason that there are some bad reviews for this place is because they probably popped there head in, ordered some plane dish and never came back. Koume is definitely a 10/10!

Sushi is amazing and priced fairly. If you are looking for production all you can eat, this IS NOT the place for you. The chefs take their time creating perfect plates. The service is also great with the wait staff giving recommendations as requested. I drive way out of my way to reach my favorite sushi place

I have my leg broken, it took me 12 minutes to get out of my car I got there at 2:04 pm and they close the door on my face, "sorry we are close", I said "you saw me coming" "do you how difficult it is to walk is for me? " sorry they said... Never coming again if they dont have the humanity they dont worth

Tiny, yet wonderful authentic Japanese. Wonderful atmosphere, starting with being greeted by the chef upon walking in. The sushi / raw selections are fresh and tasty, if theres one thing to pick on, they are a bit small, or "just right." The ramen is also very good, both rich and full of substance.

I had the beef fried rice, and the rice was the only thing worth eating. The beef was EXTREMELY tough and gamey, couldnt eat more than one piece. Very pricey for mediocre Japanese food with a VERY limited menu. No wonton soup? The staff are friendly enough but dont bring any dates in here.

With all the great reviews I expected more. I decided to eat there after reading all the great reviews but i was disappointed. The food is nothing special. Its edible but not something I would go out of my way for. Staff is super friendly but the food leaves a lot to be desired.

This place is fantastic! The staff is friendly, the sushi is fresh, and the sake is tasty! They have unique rolls, apps, and hands down one of the best desserts Ive ever had. Has a cozy neighborhood feel. I very highly recommend Koume for an great sushi experience!!

Weve been going there for 15 years or so. Consistently the best Japanese restaurant in Broward. Friendly staff, good prices, good helpings, great tasting dishes. Try the Chirasi, the Yaki Soba Combo or one of their fabulous generous Lunch Box / Trays offerings.
