They are the worst sushi place!!! They never show up on time for delivery and your food dies in their car. Today it took 2 hours to receive our food. Last time it took 2.5 hours because they only had 1 driver. The guy didnt know how to run the credit card and finely after 8 tries. I called the manager who ran it without any difficulty. Honestly, if they werent the only place that delivered in the Grove. They would be out of business their service is so bad! On top of that when we called today after living here for 5 years. They didnt have our number or address in the system and we had to give all our information over again like its the first time we called... They are horrible!!! Stay away. The Akashi in South Miami is amazing!!!! The complete opposite of this place... I only wish they would deliver to my house.

Ive eaten at each Akashi dozens of times and I think I can officially declare it as my favorite sushi restaurant. The Alex #2 is a must - I get it 100% of the time I dine there. The Coconut Grove location is a little larger than the South Miami location, mostly because dining extends to the outdoor courtyard (not that theres much seating there either.) Service is always good - nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. I will say, out of the dozens of times Ive eaten at Akashi, there was only 1 time that I got a sub par roll and it was at the Coconut Grove location. Maybe it was a bad day, maybe delivery took to long, I dont know but it definitely did not hinder my love for this restaurant!

This Japanese Restaurant in Miami is located both in Coconut Grove and South Miami. The food is good and the serving portions are fair-sized, though the ambience and decor are nothing special. We visited the Coconut Grove location, which has an open-air area with a view of the main street teeming with tourists and locals. This is a nice place to see Harley Davidson motorcycles, one or a few Ferraris and the dogs strolling alongside their owners.

I order some rolls the other day, and they came on top of something that looked like fat chicken skin. I called, and they took forever to come back to my house to get the item back. They said it was fat eel skin, and when I called the manager, he had very poor English and did not seem to realize how nasty the thing looked to me and how sloppy the cook was for leaving that thing on the bottom of my rolls! Never again!

Not that this place needs more positive reviews, but this place is THE BEST. When we have guests come in town we take them here and everyone leaves delighted. Every plate I have ordered here is amazing. Most sushi places I have been always throw something nasty your way every now and again, but I have never been disappointed here. Go and enjoy. Do fill your wallet before hand.

Horrible service! Waited over 20 minutes before the actual server came up to us to get our order without even offering a menu. After our order had been placed another waitress came by and asked if we needed help which was about 30 minutes after we had originally sat down. This akashi is definitely not like the original one off of sunset.

By far one of the best Japanese restaurants I have dinned at in a while! Definitely authentic food and sushi. The salmon teriyaki dinner plate is a must try, along with the Alex #2 sushi. I love how the delivery is no Hassle. No need to sit and give them the card number, the driver comes with the machine!

Its about the same as Chinese sushi, though with worst presentation. Pieces of sashimi seemed to be cut with a full knife, and not consistent. When I arrived at 6:00 rap music playing should have been an indication. It may be good for Florida, but its not Japanese.

Somewhat small but really good food, poor atmosphere though. The Alex 2, gaudi roll (not in the menu) and the shrimp shumai are spectacular. The food taste is above what you pay for! For sure would come back whenever Im close by.

This place is the worst sushi place in the Miami area, the manager is rude, they always give you a hard time to be seated and wouldnt recommend it for anyone. Stay away

The service is horrible. Only on or two servers My sister waited 20 mins for lemons and then when the lady server came she was in a rush. This place used to be better

The sushi is top notch here. They focus on the rice which is the foundation of food sushi. Place is small and fills up quick so you have to get there before the rush.

Fresh sushi, very tasty rolls, but lacks presentation, is on the expensive side and service is hit or miss. It is a nice place to eat outside if you are in no rush.
